Friendly Sparring.

Peace begins with a smile.
"Thanks!"

She whirled her lightsabre about and took the initiative for the next exchange, she came at Zylah a little faster and with more determination without anger. Being pushed down has only strengthened her resolve, and she had focused her boundless energy into a new concentration to aid her in the spar. She started with the typical horizontal swipe to the midriff, and would return with high-low combination.

Kaia took offence to very little directed at her, but quite easily at things directed at others. She was a protective person at heart. She knew full well that sorries were not constructive in a sparring situation, unless something very grievous were to happen. They were not Sith after-all.

Now it was Kaia's turn to move, and Zylah prepared her defence. Not discouraged by their recent bump-in, rather, Kaia seemed motivated by it, pushing herself harder because of it. This was excellent, and the kind of determination that would ensure her continued growth in this area. Neither of these girls were the kind to give up in the face of adversity, another character trait they had in common.

Sticking with the standard form of Shii-Cho, the pale Arkanian met the horizontal swipe with a vertical block. Holding the vertical blow, the path and movement required to change from high block to low block was small.

Zylah was in the mood to experiment, so experiment she did. Once a horizontal swing came at her, she'd take a step back and out of its trajectory. What she did next happened fast. Instead of the type of blocks she had performed before, where her own blade moved towards the incoming blade of Kaia to stop its movement, the following move subscribed to a philosophy that was quite opposite. Instead of stopping the movement of the incoming blade, she would promote it, hopefully accelerating it. Zylah's own blade slapped against Kaia's, intending to push it further in the direction it was going in with the aid of the strength Zylah put behind the swing. Hopefully the angle and strength Kaia already had put into it would make a counter or full stop awkward and challenging. Simultaneously to Zylah's saberslap, she stepped in towards Kaia, and spun around, on the opposite side from where Kaia's blade was headed towards, as Zylah called her own blade back. The end goal of this move was to be standing at Kaia's side, almost behind her, while following through with the spin, turning it into a horizontal slash to Kaia's side.

Expecting a block or hit, Kaia was absolutely not prepared for the radical change in pressure. Her momentum was redirected rather than stopped, and she had to take an extra step in order to maintain her balance. To Kaia's confusion, Zylah disappeared from her immediate view.

"Wha?"

Corvus had told her to trust in the Force, and at a moment such as this she had no idea what to do, so trust was the way. Rather than trying to locate Zylah and stopping her blade, Kaia ducked down as far as she could while turning 180 degrees, and made a wide, low sweep with her sabre to try catching Zylah's feet or to press her back. In some ways, it was inspired by Zylah's earlier Ataru antics. Kaia was always a perceptive little thing.

"That's a sneaky move Sister. You must teach me."

Zylah's blade hit nothing but air, as it swept above where the Miraluka had stood moments before. Nice duck. Realizing the threat to her legs, Zylah's first reaction was to jump over it. She wanted to do a flashy frontflip, and jump over Kaia, but decided against it, as Kaia could simply have continued the spin and Zylah would've been in the same situation on the other side. However, a simple jump wouldn't do either. She'd argue it'd leave her too close and too vulnerable, but in truth, she really enjoying bouncing around the battlefield. Instead of the flashy frontflip, she performed a flashy backflip. As opposed to last time, however, she'd immediately transition into another attack. Once she landed, her knees bending, she'd lean forwards and kick off towards Kaia. The strike she came with was a diagonal strike. It'd serve both as an attack, but also to hold her blade in a ready guard. The main threat of this attack came from the speed and power with which Zylah kicked off towards the Miraluka.

"I can try. Though you make it sound like I plan ahead. I just have ideas popping into mind, and I go through with them without really thinking about it. I guess that's not really a good thing..." she laughed. Sweat was starting to drip down her forehead. All those flashy moves were starting to take its toll.

"Depends on where the ideas come from. Sometimes the Force gives us powers, why shouldn't it give us ideas?."

Kaia was sweaty too, even if she had performed much less acrobatic movements, it had still made her hair stick to her forehead and had dampened her clothes. When Zylah somersaulted out of the way and then came rushing back in, Kaia tried to stand up fully and jump out of the way with a sort of twirl. She swiped out with her left hand to maintain balance as she seized the twirling motion, this was also the hand she held her sabre in. With the movement, she effectively got out of the way of Zylah's way, and the swipe of her sabre directed itself at the back of Zylah's legs, not far from her rump.

Effectively: Kaia twirled out of Zylah's attack and tried to slap her on the behind.

It was the diagonal angle of the cut that spurred her to deviate from the form in such a way, and she was imitating some of Zylah's movements. Omitting the more flashy parts of the acrobatics.

What Kaia said was true. It wasn't one of those things she had to ponder on, she immediately accepted it as truth. She knew the Miraluka would grow to become a wise Jedi. Zylah could only hope some of it would rub off on her.

Zylah charged past Kaia, blade hitting nothing but air. Her Force-sister was already dodging to the side. At this pace, with this focus, Zylah was unable to deviate from her path. It was hit hard or miss hard. Yet more than that, Kaia decided to leave her with a little parting gift. Initially, it felt like a soft pat. It was the sound that she heard first, of the training saber slapping against the rough fabric of Jedi robes as it hit its mark. Then came the sharp sensation of pain, finally feeling its effects. Kaia's blade had connected, a clean hit slapping against Zylah's bottom. The Arkanian halfbreed certainly hadn't seen that coming. Had it not been for Zylah facing the completely opposite way, Kaia would've been able to see her expression, a mix of hurt and surprise.

Zylah lost her balance and dropped down to her knees, her pants getting coloured by grass stain as she slid across the green floor, her momentum carrying her forward. What... Just happened? The Padawan slowly made it back up on her feet, turning around. One hand held the training saber, the other grabbed at her rear. "Did you just spank me?" her pained expression was somewhat gone, now there was only a look of shocked surprise. Then she broke out in laughter.

Coming to a halt and gaining her balance, she saw Zylah skidding along the grass on her knees. She had not expected to touch her, but apparently she had. Knowing she had, she expected it to be either her leg or her lower back. Yet, the evidence talked against her, the evidence being a singed mark on the derrière of Zylah's clothes. For a second, Kaia was in about as much shock as Zylah, and when confronted she was a little lost for words. Then she started giggling uncontrollably.

Words did not matter, because Zylah had started laughing as well. Had it been anyone else, then there would be an aplogy, but as it were, Kaia was doublng over in laughter. She shut down her sabre for safety, and fell over in the grass, wrapping her arms around herself as she gasped for air between the fits of laughter-

"I'm sorry sister." The giggling was real "I am so- so sorry" She was not so sorry, really. Perhaps there would be a practical application for this merry accident one day. For now, it was drowning the sparring in a fit of laughter.

Her hand tended to the stinging pain, though it was slowly abating. It had left a mark. Whether a simple clean up would be fine, or if she'd have to switch to her other robes, she didn't know yet. There was no way she'd walk around with a saber-mark on her butt, that was for sure.

Zylah had started laughing, unable to resist in this very bizarre situation. As Kaia joined in with her giggle, she knew she was lost. There was no stopping this laugh train now. They were doomed. Zylah's laugh intensified, evolving into the uncontrollable sort that only got worse when she tried to calm herself. The situation was hilarious. Had there been anyone else, Zylah's reaction might not have been laughter. But with Kaia, she saw the innocence and humour in it. No apology was required between those two.

Zylah's training saber shut down as well. She tried to voice an answer, but all that came out was unintelligible mumbling, coated by a thick layer of laughter. Laughter was as known contagious, but Kaia's was more so than average. Zylah dropped down on a piece of grass, laying on her back next to her, sharing this hilarious moment together. It had been a good day.
