Frequent Double Posting

So, I noticed a pattern forming and when it finally happened again just a moment ago, I knew for certain it was the case. When you get an "x new messages: show post" notification on your screen and happen to submit a post of your own at the same time, it appears as though nothing has happened at all; it doesn't show a "posting..." or anything. Because it literally does nothing, it makes it look like one missed the submit button or perhaps that it did not register the click the first time. What do you get? Double posts. To my knowledge, this is an issue I have been experiencing only recently.

I am using the latest version of Chrome with no browser mods or addons.
