Free Consultation (Harrip)

The starship Coldharbor, a mobile Dark Side bazaar, slipped into spacedock at the Tion Trade Nexus. Both the ship and the Nexus were pretty common places to meet, for those who liked their privacy. Akure Executive Interstellar had a substantial office on the Nexus, and a representative -- a petite woman with dark hair and yellow eyes -- left that office to come aboard the Coldharbor and meet [member="Harrip"] in a private laboratory.

Harrip had taken much time to get where he was. This ship, the Coldharbor, was a Dark sided vessel. He could feel it and it wasn't the most comforting feeling. But he could not help but feel a slight bit of irony in the situation. The Dark side had made him into what he was, and it was now going to be used to try and repair the damage done.

He had been brought by a crew member, or so he thought, to a room that appeared to be a laboratory. He noted another in the room, probably the one he was supposed to meet. He quickly tried to summarize the necessary information in his mind.

Rave looked up from a lab bench as [member="Harrip"] came in. The benchtop was choked by scientific and alchemic apparatus of diverse appearance and variegated antiquity. Her eyes -- a brilliant acid yellow -- brightened. "Nekghoul! I've never reversed a nekghoul before. Or..." She held up an instrument of crystal and feathers, and peered at Harrip through what might have been a multifaceted lens. "Not quite nekghoul. You wouldn't happen to be the child of a humanoid and a rakghoul, would you?"

"Not quite. I was a human whose transformation was halted about two-thirds of the way through." He replied.

He was surprised quite pleasantly by the energy with which the woman had spoken. He wondered if not having a Nekghoul was disappointing, but then surely he was unique enough to be interesting to say the least. He remembered at least a dozen people who had been quite interested in the end product of his master's experimentation. Of course, Harrip hardly shared the feeling of wonder at the workmanship that must have gone into the Alchemy to stop the plague before the transformation was complete. He was more upset about that, he cared nothing for this form and he looked forward to at least gaining temporary relief from his monstrous body.

"I would like to have the effects of Rakghoul plague and the Sith Alchemy removed at best. If that is going to be too much then I would settle for a temporary solution."

(OOC: I would personally like to keep him in his current state being part Rakghoul part human. So either a temporary fix or a temporary appearance change would work for me. I had figured the Sith Alchemy had halted the plague so the removal of said Alchemy would allow the plague to continue and finish the transformation, I may however be wrong.)

"Imagine the base unit of a house of cards: two cards leaning against each other. Or imagine two armies pushing against each other. Remove one and the other wins. I can remove the alchemy, but the plague would take you immediately. Or I can take a shot at removing the plague, but the alchemy could have very serious negative effects. I think, on balance, both of those probabilities aren't what you're after.

"I can't promise a durable, immediate solution. What's been done to you is complex enough that if I fixed it, it would kill you. Now, I could kill you and bind your soul to, say, an object, but that's no kind of life. Let me and my team take a few months to work on it, give us some blood and tissue samples to work with, and we'll see what your best possibilities are. In the meantime, here are some options."

She pulled out a set of sample cases. From one, she produced a thick, dampish, folded thing -- a wetsuit of sorts. "This is a Cloak of Nuun, a Yuuzhan Vong biot. Active camouflage skinsuit. It'll make you invisible, and from there you can just plain wear a hood and cloak and come across as mysterious instead of Rakghoulified. There are other temporary solutions, but this may be the best of them."

"I believe that that will work then. Where to for the samples to be taken?" Harrip felt slightly torn inside, he had hoped to be free of this virus once and for all. It appeared he would be stuck the way he was for a little while longer. He tried to produce the closest thing to a smile that a Rakghoul's facial structure was capable of. He looked uncertain as he was not sure where to go for samples to be collected. Obviously, he assumed, that it would be a somewhat longer process, due to the fact that there were different types of cells that would require harvesting to get a full scope of his condition.

"Here will do. Go to sleep, Harrip."

As an alchemist, a Dathomiri witch and a Dark Side healer, putting Sithspawn to sleep was child's play. The process of telekinetically extracting his cell samples would have been somewhat beyond painful if he had been conscious for it. Her hands wove green-glowing patterns in the air as tiny, precise streams of fluid and tissue ejected themselves from his floating body into similarly floating vials. The characteristic scent of the Rakghoul plague reminded her to sterilize the place thoroughly. Again.

When he awoke, he would find himself sore but not overly inconvenienced, and Rave examining samples through a microscope phlegmatically.

"So did you get good samples? What do you see?" He asked, trying to be polite. In the back of his mind he felt pretty annoyed with the smell that had almost become too familiar. It was the smell of the plague, and he hoped that she did not mind overly much. At the same time he smiled inwardly thinking that that was about the best sleep he had had for many years now. Funny how a little Force can do so much, he thought. His soreness was hardly a concern to him, for his excitement at possible hearing this woman tell him something he did not know about this was interesting.

"I don't give out preliminary results, Harrip, I'm sorry." She looked up from the microscope briefly. "Anything could change between now and when I find an answer. As I said, I'll put a team on it, but it'll likely still take several months before we have a solid plan of attack. In the meantime, yes, the samples are more than sufficient. Stay in contact with my company; don't drop off the map or otherwise disappear. My aide who showed you in will get you a list of our locations and contact information. If the Cloak of Nuun doesn't suit your needs, please do return it. I wish I could do more without jeopardizing your health, but as a professional I prefer to look before I leap."

"I understand. Thank you for all you have done. I guess I will see you later then." Harrip tried to pull off another smile. He felt somewhat better now, at least there were professionals on his case. In the mean time he would have to figure what to do with his life. He turned, laying the Cloak over his left arm. He began to walk away, he wasn't surprised at the fact he would have to wait, after all patience was a virtue that he had yet to completely master. He had waited many years for this, and he may have to wait for more, but that would be no problem for him.
