Rate of Fire: 500mL per second.

SPECIAL FEATURES

 • Potent Acid: The AF-1 is designed to fire a potent and highly concentrated acid. Two reactive substances are combined and fired out under high pressure to form the acidic compound, which is then sprayed out onto a target.

 • Area of Effect: At it’s maximum range of 15m, the gun can fire acid in a cone with a radius of 5 metres.

 • Detatchable Nozzle: The AF-1 Acid Thrower’s firing mechanism is designed so that most of the reaction takes place outside the gun. However, as the reaction begins in the reaction chamber, some acid is being formed as the liquids are pushed at high speed out of the gun. This causes damage to the nozzle, and means the nozzle should be replaced after every use.

Strengths:

 • Potent Acid: The AF-1 produces a very strong acidic compound, capable of eating through very strong armour, up to a limited thickness, depending on the amount used and the density of the material.

 • Portable: The AF-1 is handheld, so can be brought into battle by a single soldier.

 • Rapid Fire: Firing acid at half a litre per second, the AF-1 can deliver its payload in a frighteningly short time.
Weaknesses:

 • Heavy: At 35 kg. The AF-1 is quite weighty, and will restrict the movement and mobility of the user.

 • Short Use Time: Due to its rate of fire of 500 mL/s, and it’s carrying capacity of 18L, the AF-1 has only 38 seconds of firing time before it runs out of ammunition. What’s more, it’s not practical to carry the barrels of spare chemicals into battle, so resupplying will be limited after ammo runs out.

 • Maintenance: Due to the highly caustic substance running through it, the AF-1 has to be stripped and thoroughly cleaned immediately after use. The nozzle also must be replaced after every use.

DESCRIPTION
The AF-1 was developed under the special weapons project Nebula. The acid-thrower was designed to combat the rising threat of powerful enemy force users and heavily armoured hostiles. The AF-1 was rushed through its development cycle in preparation for the upcoming conflict with the Galactic Alliance, and as such a number of issues and limitations remain with the current design. While limited in its usage, the AF-1 provides insurance to the safety of FOSB operatives, should they encounter a hostile force user, or heavy armour target.
