Private Fortress Under the Cliff

Talon quietly stood at the meeting spot, a cliff overlooking a fortress. As described, it was massive and hovering in the air. The base was home to one of the remaining clans on the planet, people had to pay protection to not get sacked. The overlook had a nice breeze to it, but it wouldn't last for long, forecasts call for it to be cloudy, with a chance for rain. The bridge connecting the base didn't look all too stable, maybe because the fortress was basically ever shifting to keep from breaking away.

Looking back he didn't have long before he had to go, the job was to get information, taking the entire fortress down would be easy from the inside. The reason it hadn't been was because of what the place held valuable documents that could make any man rich, therefore no one wished to destroy it. Watching the stone bridge, Talon wondered why they would use a more crude material, they could've made it out of durasteel, or something that would shift with the weight of the fortress.

Spying down he watched the buildings with anticipation. They would be open for five minutes in close to around thirty minutes. Then they would be shut for another day. "Where is she?" Talon said to himself looking around, if he didn't have Scald Scald with him soon, he'd just enter and do the mission alone. That would easily be the hardest thing he has done, for there aren't many vents and none connect to where he would go. When he got to the room and the alarm sounded, it would be an even more difficult escape.

Scald was making her way to the meeting spot-‘fana on her shoulder. The kitty really wanted to come, so Scald obliges.

“Aye girl,“ Scald muttered absentmindedly as she overlooked the large fortress. It was quite an interesting design; she was excited to see the inside.

Slipping through the shadows- through rather needlessly as her armour is a crimson color, her eyes fell upon her old Mandalorian accomplice. Talon. Fana grinned from her shoulder. She cliff side looked ominous, being dowsed in water, she didn’t make an effort to hide her approach as she stepped onto the ridge.

Talon quietly knelt there looking over the ridge, he was getting ready to jump, and slide down. Turning he said, "Welcome." He had briefed her earlier, and expected her to still know what there job was. Nodding, he went back to watching the gate, which would be opening in five minutes.

While he waited Talon looked back eyeing Fana, a little confused why the animal was brought, but mentally shrugged while he nodded. Waiting to see if she would say anything, he listened to the gates.

After about five minutes of waiting, the loud noise of two doors opening could be heard, and the gates had opened.

Scald Scald

"Perfect," Scald said as the gates opened.

Now it was time to jump and slide down. She glanced at Fana who gave a feline laugh- apparently Fana was going to enjoy it. Taking a glance down the ledge, she took a small breath and jumped. She moved onto her side and kept on leg bent to slow down her descent.

Fana was on her shoulder- balancing without much effort. She heard Talon jump too,

Looking at the slope, Talon hopped down, sliding over the rocks. When the Mandalorian was getting closer to the ground, he got into more of a running position. Ending it with a roll as he got to the bottom. Sliding off to the side of the bridge, he stopped on the side of it. In front of him was the side of the bridge.

Quickly he pushed himself onto the side of it. Talon would be out of view of the cameras on the bridge. At this time he had lost vision of Scald, how she was managing he didn't know. At all times he was ready to hop on the bridge and start a shootout. Talon kept going along the ledge quietly, almost reaching the end.

Waiting quietly he had a couple minutes, Talon decided to use this time to see if anything would happen.

Scald Scald

Scald had followed in Talons example and rolled when she reached the floor. The bridge was off to the side, and Talon had already started crawling across it.
“Army crawl time,”She murmured to Fana who jumped down from her shoulder. Fana nodded and leapt into the edge of the bridge.

Talon had told her that none of the security cameras could see them while they are there- which was good due to her armour. But surprisingly, the dark crimson sank into the shadows tonight, only occasionally standing out.

Scald started to crawl as well, wondering what Talon was doing as he waited.

A patrol came out of the gate passing to the other end of the bridge, it appeared they were closing up for the night. Once the men had passed over the bridge. They had their attention on the opposite direction, which made Talon take the opportunity to go inside. Walking into the shadows he quietly sat there waiting on his companion.

During this time Talon looked through a map of the fortress looking up to spot a vent, which he was already making his way up to. Once up he took the cover off and waited.

Scald Scald

Scald got to the end of the bridge, smiling as the guards passed her. Fana met her at the end, and she stood up, looking for Talon.

It appeared that Talon was waiting near an open vent.

"Our choice of entrance," She said mostly to herself, Fana sighed on her shoulder. Fana was made for crawling through spaces- but that didn't mean she had to like it.

The vent was a tight fit, but Talon managed, breaking into the first hallway of the building, quietly waited as two more guards passed. Walking into a hall, it was narrow, open space. Getting caught out in it would mean death. Turning to Scald he said, "Anyway you can get us around?" Talon looked back at the menacing hallway realizing it was their escape route, when the time came, they will deal with it.

Scald Scald

Scald scanned the room in response to his question. The long hallway seemed to be the ideal trap- no way should they go down there. It also seemed to be the only way through; that was seldom the case.
Walking up to a wall, Scald gave a both relieved and exasperated sigh.

Fana had jumped into a small ledge that seemed to connect to a quite large laundry shoot.
“Up for it?”

Talon looked at the chute, he wondered and then shrugged nodding to using it. It seemed as though they had no way around other then this so he waited for scald to go up so he could follow.

Still he pondered why Fana tagged along, while the little thing could be stealthy, if caught it was more of a liability. Talon trusted the animal though and continued.

Scald Scald

Scald nodded back and stepped up to the chute, using the grips on her gloves, she easily shimmied up it. Fortunately, Fana was being good and stayed still.

It was a long way up- so she was relieved when she made it to the top. They came into another room, luckily, it was wide and heavily furnished. A great relief from the narrow and bare hall downstairs.

Talon nodded when they had finished their trip, he quietly looked at the alarm system knowing it would go off soon. Pulling up a map he saw a science lab, if Scald wanted to take a detour she could. Though Talon would continue on the path already traveling.

A guard came up the hall, froze when he saw two Mandalorians standing looking around. “Hey who are you?” The man called, “This is 5-3 we—“ A knife was out of the man’s neck that had entered when Talon threw it.

Turning to Scald, “If you wish to go to the science lab, you may go, I will continue the journey. We can meet up in the security room.” As Talon finished the statement the alarm started blaring saying, ‘defcon 3.’

Scald Scald

Scald smiles as the dagger was thrown with perfect aim. She did not expect any less. Talon turned to her saying she could go to the lab if she wished.

yes... it would be interesting to say the least. Maybe I can steal some plans!

But as soon as he finished the statement an alarm started blaring.
“I believe that will have to wait,” Scald relief a tad regretfully. Fana hissed at the loud noise and jumped down from Scalds shoulder.

They both started at a run through the large hall and Fana followed. They came across several guards but they were dead before they could say a word.

Behind them, Scald was leaving behind a trail of bio traps and had many otherin the palm of her hand.
Yes- this won’t change the outcome.

“Understood.” When they started their run, Talon tackled a man coming around a corner and continued his sprint leaving a knife in the soldier’s neck. Once they got close to their destination, Talon turned listening to the movement of soldiers and the screams from traps.

In front of them was a massive blast door, Talon opening it with a few taps. What was outside made him a bit annoyed. It was an open courtyard, and if defcon 2 was called they couldn’t get into the other building.

Outside there was cover that Talon dashed to pulling out a pistol as gunfire started above him. While he didn’t know where Scald was he needed her out here so he could close the doors. Firing at one mane, it dropped the guard. Another walked up with a blade which had his hand broken and a boot snapping his neck. Though Talon’s Beskar was shot during the fighting it held up.

“I can try and cover you if you want to make the dash, we don’t have long.” Pulling up his A280 he shot some more men down. “Up to you.” Defcon two was caked over the speakers. While Talon could deal with the people on the roofs, there was still people in the courtyard to get through. It would be a run-and-gun situation. His goal was to at least get her in there, even if it meant he was captured. As he continued the cover fire he didn’t see the long-barreled sniper rifle firing its round. Knocking Talon down piercing part of his chestplate.

Holding to the piece he pointed to the closing blast doors on the other side putting the mission first.

Scald Scald

Scald scowled as she glanced around the courtyard- from her cover she could see Talon being rather pinned and a sniper on top of him. From her cover, there was only so much she could do.
Turning her head slightly, she gestured for Fana to hop down.
“Sniper and others,” She said pointing.“Get did of them.”

Fana nodded and growled. She got into position then darted into the fire zone.

Scald heard Talon call out for her to make a dash for it. After scanning the courtyard- she spotted reinforcements coming. Yes- they were running out of time.

Taking a deep breath, she jumped out of her hiding place while drawing her pistol and killing several guards. Now being the center of attention- all weapons turned to her. Scald wasn’t worried about the other blasters. Only about the sniper that Fana was hopefully taking care of.

Talon was covering her quite well and Scald made it to the door, shots reverberating off her armor. Ducking into the door way she made a few signals at Fana- telling her to stay and help. Then she opened the door.

Talon’s eyes were out of focus when he lay there, the blue slowly coming together to create an image. What he saw he didn’t like, the reinforcements were outside and he had a barrel pointed at his head. Quietly looking around he was surrounded, nothing he could do but wait.

Talon was forced up by one of the men, he assumed he would be used as a bargaining chip. “We’ll give you the Mandalorian’s life if you come out peacefully and place yourself under arrest.” Said the man, Talon assumed it was the Officer.

During this all Talon was slowly shaking his head as to say, leave him, and don’t come out. No words were spoken though as he quietly sat there wondering what the scientist would do. He always found her clever, either she gets him out or at least escapes the fortress. Both worked for him.

Scald Scald

Scald heard the mans call from the and saw Talon slowly shaking his head. No- of course she wasn’t going to surrender. She took a few seconds to look around- Fana had indeed taken out the Sniper and was crouched at the top of the building.

Returning her gaze to Talon and the men surrounding him. There was... 15 maybe? Hm- not good odds.

A small sadistic smile lit under her helmet. As she was fond of saying, every organic being had one weakness. She couldn’t help the laugh that escaped her. With a gesture to Fana, she prepared. Fana would be a good distraction- from the gruesome death the guards were going to see.

Pulling out two viles of spores- some of the remaining part of the one that the lava could make. She laughed again and came out hand raised- the guards pointed their blasters at her. “No funny buisness,” Theofficer said,”We could still kill the other Mando.”

Scald laughed again,”Oh don’t worry- you won’t find this funny.”

The lifs of the viles came off just as Fana pounced onto the Guard with the gun at Talon. Her claws sank into his skin and he screamed in pain.

”Fire!!!” The officer called- but Scald threw the spores all over them.

She grabbed Talon and pulled him out of the way. The guards started screaming and scratching at themselves. Before their eyes- the guards were being eaten by the tiny spores. In under a minute, all would be dead. The guards fell to the floor- most now missing body parts.

“Let’s go,” Scald said, starting off towards the door.

Talon cocked his head, even with the barrel pressed against it. What was she thinking? All he knew was that this could go one of two ways, and he was curious what those ways were. Seeing as the men didn't have time to tie him up he did have a little advantage on them.

Once Fana pounced Talon grabbed the guards knife sticking the man in the neck with it. Watching the spores come out he muttered, "Oh shit." The men were in a panic with the spores on him. Luckily Talon was pulled out of the way and got up to join Scald on her journey towards the door.

"I ever tell you, you are wonderfully sadistic?" He meant the words giving his own little evil grin under his helmet. Once they had gotten to the door he went to shutting it and unwiring the controls.

Turning for a second, "Are those spores going to eat through the ship because we are above the main engine." With that he started moving quick, down other halls he could hear the faint movement of men dealing with the courtyard situation and the one in this room. Plugging in a pad he slowly started to get the information he needed.

Talon found the entire situation funny and was shaking has head laughing. as he continued to download the information.

Scald Scald

Scald laughed when she called her sadistic- yes, yes she was. Talon locked the door and required it, before turning for a second to ask if the spores would eat the ship. Scald laughed at the thought.

“No- these spores only eat organic matter. “

They ran into another room where Talon plugged in his datapad and started gathering the information. He was laughing the whole time.

Scald grinned, she rarely met another who was as sadistic a she.

Then Fana came bounding down the halls, grinning like she’d been in catnip. Scald crossed her arms suspiciously, "What did you do?"

The little kitty shrugged and jumped back up to her place on Scald's shoulder."Um-hm," Scald said, then the datapad beeped, saying that it had collected the necessary data.

"Time to go," Scald rightly guessed as she heard the clamor of feet coming at them, she still had more spores and was honestly hoping to use them. They turned down the corridor, heading back towards the door that lead to the courtyard before Fana jumped in front of them, stopping them from going any closer to the door.

"Fana, What is it?!?" Scald asked, they were sorta in a hurry. But since Fana didn't have an ability to speak basic, she just shook her head a gestured with it to another hallway.
