TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Classification: Lightsaber/Lightclub
Size: Very Large (Hilt: 40cm Blade: 1.83m [Original Length], 1.46m[minimum length], 3m [Maximum Length] )
Weight: Heavy

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Artusian Crystals: Each of the Artusian crystals possess power from the Valley of the Jedi that Ador draws upon when in need of it to either empower himself or rejuvenate his force energies.
  • Dual Phase Mechanism: The saber’s blade is capable of shifting between different sizes at an instant going from its original length to that of an average lightsaber or jumping to the size of a lightclub.
  • Calming Presence: Due to how close the saber had been to Argis in his passing it allows the spirit of the Jedi to communicate with Ador when he wields it, aiding the young Corellian by providing advice, and calming him in times of duress.

Strengths:

  • Empowering/Rejuvenating energies: The natural abilities of the Atrusian crystals used within the saber can be drawn on by Ador to empower his own abilities in the force or rejuvenate spent energies.
  • Output: Due to the discharge energy cell Fortitude is capable of shifting its power output on the fly from as low as a glowlight to being powerful enough to cut through Beskar after repeated strikes.
  • Force Spirit: While wielding the lightsaber Ador can feel the presence of Argis who in times of duress will provide advice or aid in calming him.

Weaknesses:

  • Weight: Due to the incredibly large size of the hilt and being made of beskar it weighs significantly more than an average saber.
  • Force Nullification: While within the confines of a force dead bubble or on a planet void of the force the lightsaber loses all its special effects and even its connection to Argis.
  • Unwieldy: Far larger than the average lightsaber it requires a great deal of skill to use it effectively, and when the blade is at its maximum length for the uninitiated it can be more than a little troublesome.
  • Cortosis: The bane of most lightsabers in its purified form is capable of shutting off the lightsaber for a period of time leaving Ardon defenseless.

DESCRIPTION

" My rivals be ill-fated. For I know of no higher fortitude than stubbornness in the face of great odds” -Argis

The lightsaber Fortitude was crafted from the remnants of Temperance and Serenity, two sabers that had once been used by the Jedi Knight, Argis Volmir. Argis Volmir had been one of the courageous Jedi that allied themselves with the Outer Rim Coalition and took the fight to the Sith on the planet of Rhen Var. While tasked to aid in the retrieval of the Fell Star the Dashade had the ill-fortune to encounter the Sith Lord [member="Darth Voracitos"]. The engagement to follow was vicious, some would even say brutal and ended with the Jedi Knight at the mercy of the Sith Lord that attempted to devour his soul. In an act of self-sacrifice to halt and at least weaken the monstrous Sith, Argis reached up driving two bombs down on the area in which they were located. An ending that showed his devotion to the light, and willingness to do what must be done.

Weeks after the engagement of Rhen Var, Ador had journeyed to the world in hopes of recovering enough scrap and remnants from the battle to pay off his growing debt to the Hutt’s. In the rubble of the explosion, Ador had found the remnants of the sabers Temperance and Serenity, upon touching them a voice and presence from the beyond reaching out to him. It was on this day that Ador was shown a way of life beyond just serving himself and living day to day. He saw a true purpose, he now had a goal.

With the guidance of Argis, Ador went about piecing the sabers back together but what remained of the two originals wasn’t sufficient to recreate them so instead, he brought them together to form one solid shell made of pure beskar. With how large Argis’ hands had been Fortitude’s hilt is similarly large easily bigger than most other lightsaber hilts possessing a far greater heft.

Next came the innards and while some of the crystals had managed to survive the destruction others hadn’t. Within the electronics and Artusian crystals were still functional, as such they would continue to be used within Fortitude. The Artusian crystals had been placed within the hilt to remind Argis of the sacrifices Jedi had once made in order to defeat the Dark, and they had served their purpose. Now it was Ador’s turn to lean upon and learn from them. The Artusian crystals centuries before had been used to grant those unable to utilize the force abilities akin to that of the Jedi and Sith. Within the saber however they can be drawn upon by Ador to strengthen his uses of the force, or rejuvenate spent force energies. To accommodate the Dual-phase mechanism placed within the hilt Ador required the use of one more crystal. Of course, wanting to represent his lineage Ador went about the process of acquiring a Durindfire crystal. Doing this did, of course, put him on the Hutt Cartel’s poodoo list yet the results were more than worth it for him. Through the use of the Durindfire crystal the blade of the saber is bright silver in its original setting. When shifted to its shortest length the saber becomes a vibrant green, and at its maximum length, it returns to the silver sheen. The Dual-phase mechanism is only one special technological feature of the saber, along with it a discharge energy cell was added allowing Ador to control the power output of his saber changing the output from as low as a glow rod to a blade powerful enough to even cut through Beskar after repeated strikes.

A part of the saber that had nothing to do with Ador was the fact that Argis’ presence lingers on the saber allowing the Jedi to feel their presence and in times of need or great duress reach out to the spirit for support. This calming presence can keep Ador from losing his composure in the face of danger or when he’s under strain. To Ador this saber is much more than a weapon, it is more than just a possession, it is the legacy of a Jedi that had come before.
