Tass Arceneau
Time knows no mercy
SPECIAL FEATURES
This is an emergency repulsor belt with an over-the-top extra that will never apply to most owners. Teleportation is vanishingly rare. Encountering it is a one-in-a-hundred-lifetimes situation. Nevertheless, after narrowly escaping a transdimensional cannibal survivalist situation on Caeliar, Tass Arceneau set about adapting a unique sensor technology to solve a rare problem awkwardly.
This belt, somehow, can detect any teleportation within ten metres and will then forcibly move the wearer in a random unimpeded direction. The idea is that the wearer has probably just dodged a Charon commando emerging from Otherspace or something similar.
It is incredibly niche. In certain unutterably remote sectors, it sells like hotcakes.
- Full-grain leather
- Chromed durasteel buckle
- Miniature repulsors
- Proprietary electronics
- Kicks in to reduce the impact of a fall.
- Detects any teleportation or Otherspace signature within a 10-metre radius and instantly begins moving the wearer up to 3 metres away in a random unimpeded direction, defaulting to laterally if available.
- If the wearer has reached terminal velocity, the belt's ability to soften the impact of landing is limited; the wearer could still break their legs or take spinal damage, for example.
- Being yanked sideways out of nowhere is a destabilizing experience.
- If the wearer has (technological or other) teleportation options, they should not exercise those options while wearing this belt. Bisection is a best-case scenario.
- Do not wear this belt while traveling by stargate. Bisection is a best-case scenario.
- Do not wear this belt when jumping to or from Otherspace. Bisection is a best-case scenario.
