That was unexpected.

Abishai had never been given a choice. Not a real choice. He was taught but had not choice as to his lessons. He had eaten freely, but never decided his menu. He had decided to come with this Sith woman, but really with the only other choice being death...it was no choice at all.

And here she was. Giving him a choice.

Everything in his mind screamed to take the credits and run. He could be gone. He could be free. A fresh start and way back to his true mother. Or even...

Abishai smirked, looking away. The thought occurred now that maybe he could just make a go of it on his own. Not even go home.

But through all the quick thoughts that zipped through his young mind, there was something that she said that would not get out of the damned way.

I could learn to harness my gift and find purpose for my life, a direction and purpose I built for myself.

He could have that in the Sith? And grow his abilities? He would not be constrained by all the rules like the Jedi? Thoughts of him being able to jump, run and see beyond his normal human capacity dominated his mind, for just a moment. That power could be his. What could do with that power? Rob a bank? Take over a castle? He could be truly in charge.

He felt it in his gut. That yearning. That longing for control and dominance. Those things that had been persistently denied him.

"Can I go with you and still get the credits?" He said with a grin forming.

She watched the gears turn in the boy’s head after she had laid out the options before him. She was curious which direction he would choose to go - if he would take the money given to him and disappear, or if he would take her advice and seek training. A smirk crossed over his face at some internal thought, and he looked away from her. Revna raised an eyebrow at him, watching and waiting for him to reach whatever decision he was clearly weighing within.

When he finally looked back at her, he asked if he could still get the credits if he went with her - and her own half smirk tugged at her lips. She felt both relief, and anxiety, upon receiving that response.

Relief that she could keep an eye on him, and anxiousness that she would truly be responsible for him, for as long as he remained with her. That could be a short term thing…or it could be long term. She would simply have to play it by ear and let the currents of the Force guide her, and him as well.

I’ll do you one better: you come with me and get a tour of Kor’ethyr Sith Academy on Korriban, and if you decide you want to attend as an Acolyte, I will sponsor you. That means I will pay your tuition, and whatever else you may need while you attend. Anything that you want that isn’t necessary would have to be earned.

She paused, weighing her next words carefully. “If…the Academy is not something you wish to do, but you still want training…I can see if I can find you a suitable master willing to take you on. But until then - I can mentor you, teach you the things I know. It would at least give you a foundation.” She searched his face with her eyes for a moment, letting her words settle.

You don’t have to make your decision on it right now; think about it. For now though I would desire you to rest further. Your IV will come out tonight or tomorrow - or whenever the medic droid thinks is the right time. I can make you some food, if you want any right now. Probably won’t be the best stuff out there…but it is at least food.” Revna said as her eyes shifted to look over the kitchenette, before she picked up the dagger beside her and slipped it into her belt, beside her lightsaber. She would deal with it later. After a momentary pause, she glanced back at the boy, realizing that she did not know his name, and he did not know her’s.

That should probably be rectified, she decided. “My name is Revna Marr, by the way. You can just call me Revna or even Rev, if you want.” A playful smirk danced across her face as she said in a more mocking, teasing voice. “Anything except ‘crazy Force user’. I don't think I could stand the shame of such a thing...

He didn't smile. But his face was clearly showing some sort of happiness. No. It was satisfaction. While he didn't like that someone would have something over him, he didn't mind school. And he didn't mind learning. But school was not enough.

"Please to make your acquaintance, Revna," he said, feeling just a little awkward with the informality of calling an adult by their first name. She had said though.

"I will take you up on the offer..."

He nodded.

"...yeah...all of it."

"When you register me at the academy, let them know your apprentice's name is Abishai...Inkari,"
he said. He paused on the last name. It was his name. No matter what the Jedi said.

"I look forward to learning from you."
