BASTION
Damos Vakaro Damos Vakaro | Diarch Reign Diarch Reign | Diarch Rellik Diarch Rellik

Aurelian Sigismund arrived above Bastion in formal attire for official business for the first time in probably a decade. His grey eyes and stern face seemed like carved from bedrock as he stepped down the shuttle ramp that brought him here, the tall figure seeing a planet and surface he has defended, stood alongside its conquerors and has utilised as a place of earning and as strength. Bastion was capital of an ideal and realm that was now gone, left alive only as a phantom in the heads of those that would not let go of a past long gone.

He had moved on. He always did. It was not down to lacking loyalty, it was a mere trait someone as old as him was getting used to - nothing lasts. At least nothing that is touched by people of limited visions and petty ambitions.

The Vandemarian Techwrights had a large variety of businesses across the Galaxy and some of its major facilities, especially of the Olympian Armorsmiths subsidiary, were placed on Bastion and Taspir III - now in the hands of the emerging Diarchy. His eyes narrowed for a split heartbeat at the name. Another one. But a different one he had aligned himself with now. It had not yet reached across the entire Galaxy and he would make sure it did not so soon, but Aurelian was now an act.

An act yet to be decided to be maintained here or not. But this was business, not politics and he did not care too much for what the locals were now doing. They seemed more determined, more focused than the Lost and less of a wildcard than the majority of the Dark Empire. It was to be seen what would happen here.

As the Diarch was informed of Imperius Indomitus Imperius Indomitus arrival above the capital planet of the Diarchy, he direction their planetary security to give him the coordinates of the hanger within the Crucible, from what Damos had told him, this visitor was a potential VIP and Reign would waste no time in meeting him.

He had been briefed on the basis of the meeting, the man had come forth representing the Vandemarian Techwrights, and had brought attention to facilities located within the heart of Diarchy space. Here on Bastion itself and the location of their military fortress, Taspir III.

Therefore, the Diarch thought it pertinent to take a personal interest in the meeting, knowing the High Logistics officer was stretched to the limit with their recent infrastructure upgrades to the newest planet of the Diarchy, Dantooine.

Entering the hanger, the Diarch waited, intrigued to see how this new piece would fit into the puzzle that was their growing dominion.

Damos was not aware of Aurelian Sigismund before he chose to contact the Diarchs about his assets that were sitting in Diarchy space. As the man responsible for managing the Dirachy's resources and assets, Damos had to take the Darth's request and felt it necessary to call the Diarchs to take part. Damos saw this as nothing more than a waste of time. He had been mostly to himself, working tirelessly on developments on Dantooine and putting down a worker rebellion on Taspir III. With the Diarchy also finishing their conquest of Bescane, they needed to rebuild and consolidate their rule so Damos could begin assimilating the world. But no. He had to be here.

Damos waited in the hangar as Diarch Reign's shuttle made its entrance. An escort of stormtroopers had appeared on either side of the aisle to present the Diarch's arrival per orders the Councilor's orders. It had been a while since Damos had seen Diarchy Reign since he got he was given his position. He was slightly nervous, but it rarely showed as a skilled practitioner of the dark side knew just when to keep himself from masking his emotions and intent.

The Shuttle had released its landing gear and touched the hangar floor, Damos knelt down on one knee and bowed his head to pay his respects "Sir." He said quaintly.

Aurelian apparently arrived shortly after one of the Diarchs himself made an arrival, his approach, flanked by two gold-clad Companions of his Exarch Guard, their lightsaber pikes not ignited though, offering some passivity that he was not used to at this point. Just as it was unusual to feel the shape of Urizen on his back, he had not carried the weapon since Nathema and would not do so again after this. It stood for a bygone time.

The large, white haired figure noticed the kneefall of the man in the white uniform to the Diarch with curiosity. It was giving away who was who here, but his research and information had already provided said information, otherwise he would not have had a chance to be here. Iokath and Zakuul had much to offer to those between its axis, its resources and technology were more than appealing to make use of. The assets he had here provided a majority of the small arms and tech exports and to get a new buyer and utilize a new direction, would be beneficial. Especially if the Diarchy should go to war.

"Diarch. High Councillor." He offered a nod in greeting, not more, not less. It seemed already an effort equalling the bending of stone for the tall figure to make this gesture and it was, by all measurements, genuine. "I am honored to walk on Bastion once again - much time has passed since I have been here and it is good to see a force of order once more returns its seat here."

Imperius Indomitus Imperius Indomitus Damos Vakaro Damos Vakaro Diarch Reign Diarch Reign

Rellik was typically caught up in the R&D Department of the Diarchy but word had been sent to him that an emissary of the Vandemarian Techwrights was arriving. Hurrying to finish up his work at the laboratory, Rellik called for his personal driver and left as quickly as he could to meet the delegation within Revelin.

Upon arrival it appeared Damos and Reign were already making introductions. As the group mingled the Co-Head of state would walk up with his hands visible to ensure their new guest did not feel any tension. The Diarch approached and gave a slight bow to their new guest.

"I apologize for my delay. I was finishing some analysis of plants for some private works and could not leave until the conclusion of the test. I am Diarch Rellik, Co-head of our faction."

Taking in the chiseled imposing figure before him, Rellik noted the unique blade upon his back and the uniforms of himself and his guards. "Zakuul" he thought to himself.

Having partially heard the end of the introductions as he arrived the Diarch responded to Aurelian.
"The honor is ours, through our intelligence we have learned much of the storied history here. To meet one of its champions on good terms is a breath of fresh air." - Subtly hinting at what appears to be the yearning for the planet among many parties of the galaxy. Most of which who would prefer to take it by force.

The Diarch looked to Damos as he dropped to a knee. Always rather fond of the man for his stoic professionalism.

"Rise Damos, no need to stand on such formalities here. I am just here to support you in these talks"

The usual smile was not there, though. There was something about the man from Zakuul that troubled the Diarch, he just could not place it at this time.
As the man they were to meet approached, the Diarch gave him a nod in return.

"Aurelian, I apologize for keeping you waiting. There have been many developments within our borders lately that necessitated our immediate attention. However, we are glad to welcome you once more to Bastion, we hope you will enjoy your time here."

He waited as his brother made his entrance, speaking kindly of the large man's planet.

As the introductions finished, the Diarch led their party to one of the many great conference rooms.

"Damos here has advised me of the why of the meeting, I hope here, we can establish the how. Please take a seat"

The ancient Exarch was intrigued by the presence of the leadership of the Diarchy for this rather simple business meeting. An interesting turn of events that certainly would not leave any opportunity untested. Either by accident, by design or by whatever drove them here, the Hegemon had now the chance to not merely talk about economic give and take, but potentially more.

It was however with great displeasure that he was addressed by his first name by a stranger. His cold grey eyes and stone-carved expression did not change though, his tone returned like cold, hard steel.

"<Diarch> Reign." The respectful highlighting of the mans title meant to serve as a subtle reminder of this not being a family gathering. "I am honoured by the presence of you and your co-ruler, certainly not what I had expected."

"The Vandemarian Techwrights held factories and plants here since the days of the New Imperial Order rebellion against the old Sith Empire. Our Olympian Armorsmiths have been arming generations of soldiers that fought for a new order and lasting stability, and even when that dream imploded, they continued to offer their services to the Imperial remnant factions from our locations here on Bastion and Taspir III."

"With the rise of your Diarchy, a new player arises, occupying a similar scope of ambitions as those before you, in the same space. I am here to ensure and offer, that our factories continue running as intended and offer access and supply to your realm."

Damos picked himself while the Diarchs were welcoming their guest. Damos had been cautious about the Diarch's expansion, not realizing that sith lords had already established themselves in this region of the galaxy. But in all honesty, it made sense. Imperial remnants and corporate factions dominated this section of the galaxy for some time now, so it would make sense that warlords would carve out their own little playgrounds in this section of the galaxy. But that also meant egos tended to clash over resources resulting in a constant state of war leaving this region a backwater in comparison to the rest of the galaxy. While Damos wished to eliminate these warlords, maintaining hegemonic control through diplomacy was a more practical way of doing so.

As long as the warlords gave way for the Diarchy, then there was little concern. Damos however always maintained caution for whoever stood in their way. If there was a resource the Diarchy couldn't acquire, then it meant they had to give some concession to rogue elements like Darth Imperius. This meeting will only tell if Darth Imperius and his assets will impede the Diarchy's agenda. But in their current state, Damos had to remind himself that it was wiser to be cordial.

"The Vandemarian Techwrights and Olympian Armorsmiths have the right to whatever assets they possess. The Diarchy knows fully well not to hamper the progress of private industry, especially as we expand our borders. As the High Councilor with responsibilities around production, I know that becoming the sole producer of goods in the galaxy will only lead to bloated and inefficient bureaucracy. We are also aware of the much larger private enterprises. The Trade Federation being one of many. We would all like to see everyone with ability flourish under the rule of the Diarchs and we hope that we can cooperate with skilled machinists and technologists to only allow them to hone their craft, but see them succeed with our cooperation." A simple opening statement, meant to show intention. Damos was willing to elaborate on what his words would mean in practice but waited for his lords to get a word in.

Rellik patiently listened to everyone involved. Sigismund spoke of a storied history as if he was there. Peaking interest and showing that these corporations had survived many upstarts throughout the years.

An officer slowly approached and handed the Diarch a datapad. As Damos continued providing a solid opening to a dialogue that pushed towards mutual interest, Rellik viewed over this new information.

The datapad coming directly from "The Network" the Diarchy intelligence agency read as follows.
  • Aurelian Sigismund
  • Overlord of the Eternal Empire
  • Immortal Master of Zakuul
  • Hegemon of Vandemar and Zakuul
  • Champion of the Dragon Guard
Locking the datapad and placing it down upon the table the Co-head now had a better understanding of the man who stood before them. A formidable and intriguing character now poised himself stoically among the Diarch's. the Vandemarian Techwrights was something he had already been informed of but assuming upon the delegates arrival the Network began researching who he was immediately.

As Damos finished Rellik stood up to speak. "Lord Sigismund, the history of the Vandemarian Techwrights and Olympian Armorsmiths is storied and something we here aspire to on many levels." A tone of grace and appreciation were woven within each word. "There are many who deem our place among the galaxy as temporary. As with our predecessors we also seek order and lasting stability. We have been confronted on this belief, in whispers and publicly. Those who see us as another fading star. It is for this reason I wished to ensure my presence here today. I wish to honor you the way you honor us by coming personally to see that the traditions your business have continued throughout the years - moves in tandem with us now."

With a bow of his head the Diarch would sit back down.

Accessing the communicator upon his belt Rellik would signal for Varis Oakertain Varis Oakertain (his personal helper) to bring a gift for the man.

Signaling to the attendants, the staff would bring clean water, liquors and other small easily accessible drinks/snacks in case any of their guests would like some.

Aurelian offered a nod at the High Councillors statement. It was a welcome sight of free market that could prosper independent of political affiliation and agenda. Despite his own affiliation and views, he held no interest to drag his business into it and hamper the flow of resources from Vandemar and back. The Diarchy as an aspiring power would require supplies and arms, especially if they were to follow a course of expansion.

"I appreciate the notion, High Councillor." His lithic gaze turned to Rellik. "There is no such observation or perception in our eyes. We are desiring to pursue a business endeavour and support our hosts and those that align with a legacy which can be understood. The Diarchy's future holds what it can claim and protect."

"The Galaxy is always at war, it always has powers tearing at its fabric. New forces of order will always be seen as upstarts until they prove themselves, Diarch. It is in the nature of a people that are at war for the better part of a century and know neither peace nor stability."

"I am sure what your nation will bring, is reason to convince those that oppose your vision, that they are wrong."

It would seem as though the man that members of the Diarchy was meeting had separate aliases and so he followed his Diarch's move in addressing their guest the way he did. Damos cleared his throat. "Considering that you have assets within our pocket of the Outer Rim, I have no doubt you wanted to ensure that we wouldn't do anything to compromise your position. With that in mind, the Diarchy is very curious about your prospects. You are not Diarchy just as we are not associated with you in any official capacity. So, Lord Sigismund, I ask for the sake of transparency, what is it that you plan to do with your assets while we expand our borders?" Damos thought it was a seemingly fair question to ask. Beating around the bush was something you only did when you were at parties. When it came to business, Damos liked to be straightforward.

The Diarchs always liked to make grand displays and showings to the galaxy, not just to flaunt their power, but to show their intent and transparency by being upfront with anyone whether they be friend or foe. It was a sound strategy of approach because the Diarchs always had the means to back up their assertions. It gave the reputation of being dogs with loud barks and strong bites. A reputation that would command respect and integrity that Damos hoped people would uphold when dealing with the Diarchy.
