DESCRIPTION

For as long as there have been Jedi, so too have there been the sacred blades they wield. The modern lightsaber is the ultimate expression of this empyrean connection between monk and weapon, but in aeons past Tythonian Je’daii perfected the art of crafting Force imbued blades. These proto-sabers were wielded by the first of those who would become the Jedi, long before their energy blades became symbolic of the religion itself.

The greatest of these early blades were forged in the fires of Tythos Caldera, so renown for their craftsmanship that soon the Je’daii of Vur Tepe Temple held a reputation as the greatest blacksmiths in all the known galaxy. After millennia of peaceful prosperity, eventually with the coming of the Rakatan Infinite Empire the Je’daii Order fell into disarray, and the forges of Vur Tepe went dark.

Over the generations Tython faded from galactic records, only to be rediscovered and claimed by many. But it was not until Ijaat Mereel unlocked secrets hidden within the Codex of Tython and rediscovered the lost art of smelting madog steel that the forges of Vur Tepe would reawaken. It was long abandoned until an expeditionary team of New Jedi Order scholars reoccupied the temple grounds and began mining nearby rich veins of Tythonian iron referenced in obscure passages within the Holocron of the Ancients.

RATIONALE

No one institution or order holds dominion over Vur Tepe, the forgewrights craft war material for any who might prove themselves worthy of such an awesome responsibility. Work is directed by a Temple Master who serves as de facto representative in all dealings with the forgewrights.
