Forget Me

Abril

The priest God never paid
She sat at the dinner table, twirling the spoon placed in the soup around. Moving it like a puppeteer would a puppet. The spoon was like a hurricane in an otherwise calm farmland. The wind caught up in what would've been a calm dinner meeting. Her father stormed in the door, drunk as always. Blacked out on the sofa. Abril was used to this. She missed her brother. Clenched her fist until it bled. The blood ran down the chair, like oil. Her mom, also late. Abril didn't raise an eyebrow even. She went into her room, leaving the soup. Jumped on the bed and found the lightsaber of her late brother. Turned it own and swung it around a small bit, before turning it off again. She concentrated enough to close the door to her room with her mind. She knew she had to run soon. They would sell her too, soon.

She awoke the next morning, dry eyes and mouth. She had cried herself to sleep the night before. Hmph. Wipe it off and continue the day was her normal procedure for such signs of weakness. She wasn't weak, she was strong and no one could tell her otherwise. Sensing no one home she blew open the door with little effort, her power had grown since yesterday. In time. she will become too powerful for her parents not to notice. She has to kill or run. She went to the sofa yet again. Sat down and concentrated. She heard the voices of so many people. Lightsabers clashing. Deaths. She could see a red moon. A flowing river. A sea of blood. She woke up in space. Darkness. Blackout. She woke up yet again. In sweat and blood. She had done it. She looked down and saw her mother on her knees. A lightsaber in Abril's hands. One swing and every misery would end. The screams of her mother were not heard over the rhythm of Abril's heart. She saw her father's head, rolling down the stairs as his lifeless body laid there. She looked into the eyes of her mother and muttered two words

"Forget me" she said as she swung the lightsaber across her mother's throat, separating her mother's head from her shoulders.

She was quiet for the first hour, just standing there. After the hour passed and she understood what she did, she dropped to her knees and looked into the light of the window hoping it would purify her. She didn't know what to do. She looked around, in panic. fiddled around. She ran to the door. Her lightsabre, hidden. She ran to the first transport ship she saw. She hid in the cargo area. Behind a crate full of food. She got off of the first stop she could.
