Private Forests, Furballs, & Friendly Faces

Location: The forests of Kashyyyk

Petrichor took a moment to enjoy the fresh forest air as he exited his ship, his two tuk'ata close at his sides. His visit to Kashyyyk was unexpected, but he was thankful for the opportunity. So many worlds had been devastated by the Sith, and though this one had seen its share, nature still endured. The planet was tough, just like its natives. One such native was the Sith's reason for being here. He had received a message regarding a possible student on the planet; particularly, a very promising one. This would usually be a job reserved for his Excerpts, but in this case, Petrichor was happy to take care of it on his own, save for the company of Sutta and Taral. Many of Petrichor's followers often protested when he left without guards. It was understandable. After so many years at odds with the other Sith in the galaxy, Petrichor practically carried a target on his back whenever he left the safety of the academy. None of this mattered to him, however, as Sutta and Taral were all of the protection he needed.

He began to make his way through the forest, his tuk'ata following close behind. As he made his way deeper into the lush, overgrown land, he felt a strong signature within the Force. A Jedi? Perhaps. He didn't move for his lightsabers just yet. If they were to fight, Sutta and Taral would know before even he did. They seemed relatively calm, so he simply maintained his calm pace, waiting for the stranger to show themselves.

Oh, how life on Kashyyyk was truly amazing, the repetitive days where she had to train with her father or mother, or the other days where the young Knight was meditating for most of the day. Even if she loved the wildlife, both flora, and fauna, on this planet. But due to its variety of plants and mesmerizing landscapes, there wasn't much to do other than wander through the forests and eventually begin to reflect on your previous actions. The Kashyyykan reached out for a pebble that laid on the path, before throwing it towards the small pond not too far away, it would skip once or twice before disappearing in the blue glow of water. Because on Kashyyyk, you had to come up with your own ways of creating enjoyment and it only starts with the smallest of things...

And thus a faint yet joyful expression appeared on her face as she reached out for another rock, leaning forward while holding one hand on the skirt of her long robe. Once Aspen had seized the rock, she could feel it having a slightly different texture, while the other one was as smooth as the surface of the average mushbloom, this one had a lot of small edges and spikes. It would bring a slight difficulty while throwing it towards the pond, but the young Knight wouldn't care too much about that expectation. As soon as she was done inspecting the rock, there would be another step taken towards the mentioned pond.
The rock would touch the water once before immediately sinking towards the bottom of the bank. The Jedi Knight would give a simple nod before searching for more pebbles, using the force to retrieve them with a simple pull with telekinesis. And thus all her attention was focused on this action, which gave her a serious disadvantage if someone was to notice her presence.

The forests of Kashyyyk were beautifully overgrown, with large portions remaining completely untouched by the fires of industry. Petrichor found a certain tranquil solace within the overgrown land, taking his time as he continued on.

As Petrichor and his tuk'ata made their way through the forest floor, they came upon a small pond, and Petrichor could see the source of the Force signature. Aspen Falo was sitting near the pond, tossing stones into it with the Force. Petrichor took his time approaching; being a Sith, he didn't wish to startle the stranger. As he got within earshot, he turned back to Sutta and Taral, signaling for them to remain back for now. If the sight of a Sith lord would be enough to startle the individual, then the presence of two tuk'ata would likely only serve to exacerbate the situation.

Petrichor took a moment to study the movements of the Jedi as she lifted various rocks from the ground, searching for an ideal one to toss along the surface of the water. Such things may have seemed trivial to others within the Sith, but to Petrichor, such simple moments were an important reminder of what he fought for. He sought peace more than anything, and wished for nothing more than these moments return to the planets that had been ravaged by the Sith.

He reached out through the Force, his essence touching each stone around him as he sought the perfect throwing stones. As he located each one, he began to raise them with his mind. With more than a dozen stones floating in the air, he gently sent them over to her, placing them in front of her as he began to approach.

"I think you'll find these stones more suitable to your needs."

The Dark Heretic took a moment of silence, allowing her time to react to the sudden realization of his presence, maintaining his calm demeanor all the while.

While still reaching out for new pebbles of all sizes, there was little to no focus on her surroundings. Therefore missing the several forms of Kashyyykan fauna that had wandered past the natural water body which was often provided to them. There was a flock of birds that flew over the heads of Aspen and... another figure who had made their presence known by moving the pebbles towards the Kashyyykan.

A pleasant surprise, to speak of it lightly, the woman remained her steady glance towards the pond before throwing another pebble towards the surface. She had met a few strangers in the forest but none of them were presented as a threat so she didn't dare or see the functionality in turning her head around to catch a figure's eye.
''Thank you, that's really kind of you... Mister..? Please, come! Have a seat''
Despite her own promises, she kindly requested the figure to sit down beside there. The Jedi Knight glanced towards the direction where the sound came from, only to be met by a figure with a mask, not revealing any of their facial structures to her. Although it didn't scare her in particular, the folk on Kashyyyk were diverse. At least, her childhood was, growing up with a Sith as father and a Jedi as a mother you happen to meet a lot of people who you wouldn't meet if you were 'just a Jedi'.
Yet her offer still stands, waiting for approval or denial by the mysterious masked stranger. Although her curiosity grew, why did he wear a mask, was he hiding something, or is it part of his public presentation.

Petrichor was surprised at her lack of reservation about his presence. Many would be hesitant to have one so steeped in darkness in their presence, let alone sitting next to them. Aspen Falo didn't seem like a typical Jedi, however, and Petrichor was happy to oblige.

"Of course. I hope you don't mind my two friends joining us by the water. They may look intimidating, but they require hydration and rest just as much as any other."

He called to Sutta and Taral in High Sith, and they responded by running to his side. He gave each of the tuk'ata a soft pat on the head as he turned back to Aspen. They had always been his most trusted companions, following him into danger more times than he could count. Even despite the growth of his Order, they remained his most trusted friends.

"These are my friends Sutta and Taral. Don't worry, they don't bite unless they feel I'm in danger."

They each went to the water, drinking from it as Petrichor took a seat next to the stranger. The soft grass and fresh air of the planet filled Petrichor with a heightened sense of calm. He could understand why she came to this place. Every facet of the area seemed to emanate tranquility. It was proving to be a much needed break for the Sith lord, even if he didn't show it outright.

"The name is Petrichor, by the way. What might your name be?

Upon the stranger calling his pets or companions towards the pond, she would be pleasantly surprised by the appearance of both faunas. These creatures were completely unknown to her, but all she knew was the ins and outs of the Kashyyykan nature, which was diverse but not as special as seeing all the animals and plants from all around the galaxy. Maybe, one day.

Once the two settled down and began to drink some water from the pond, she would closely observe them catch their most important features and possibly figure out where they come from, planet and climate. As they seemed to be rather adapted to the heat due to their lack of fur it had to be a mesa type but that was all Aspen could figure out before listening to the next question that the stranger had asked.
''A pleasure, or honor to meet you mister Petrichor. The name's Aspen Falo, just call me Aspen because it's easier and quicker to pronounce.''
A soft chuckle could be heard as she threw another rock onto the water, only to have it end up on the other side of the pond due to it. As Petrichor had mentioned, were better for this activity. And thus she actually switched it up slightly, by trying something different. Throwing it through the Force all in the hope for interesting and diverse results. Because, it would take practice to know the effects, and let this practicum be rather straightforward for the results to eventually accompany it.
And so she began, tapping into the Force and lifting her hand before gesturing towards the rock and making a throwing motion towards the pond, the pebble would immediately sink down to the muddy soil.
''Disappointing...''

Petrichor gave a slight nod of his head as Aspen Falo gave her name.

"Pleasure to meet you, Aspen. And please, just Petrichor is fine."

He appreciated the politeness of this stranger, but in the end, Petrichor always shied away from formality unless necessary. He began watching her attempt different techniques with the rocks, and sensed the slight disappointment within her as the last one sunk to the ground.

"Failure is the first step to growth. I commend you for trying different methods. There are so many these days that seem set in their own ways of doing things."

The statement seemed innocent, but carried a very heavy context. Petrichor often thought about the endless struggle between the Jedi and the Sith, and how both sides seemed to have forgotten any other way than conflict. He often wondered if peace was even attainable between the two. Perhaps one day, but not without considerable work.

"Tell me, are you one of the Silvers?"

She may not have been the person that he initially sought here, but the Force tended to work in mysterious ways. Perhaps there was something to be gleaned from this chance encounter. Petrichor lifted a rock with the Force, flicking it across the water as he awaited her response.
