Description: The force pike, a standard weapon produced by a number of companies and governments, was a very popular and successful design used by elite forces across the Galaxy, including CorSec and Emperor Palpatine's Royal Guard, once upon a time. It had three features that worked in perfect tandem that made it a powerful weapon: first, sheer weight for the crushing force of impact. Second, a high-power vibration generator powerful enough to cut through durasteel bulkheads when combined with the third feature, an electric shock setting so powerful that it could be turned to be anything from a mild buzz to completely lethal to most sentient beings. This made it a very deadly weapon in the right hands.

That being the case, MandalTech in its vigour of revamping the combat market, decided to take the force pike technology and turn it into a new series of weapons. Enter the force weapon: a series of tools designed specifically to replicate the abilities of the force pike and up the ante by not only putting it into a wide variety of different weapon styles but also giving it lightsaber resistance, making them a very efficient tool to fight against lightsaber-using opponents with. When being purchased from MandalTech, they can be bought in a variety of standard prefabricated types, or can further be customised by their new owners (of course, this means that new types of 'standard' weapon will require a future update to this entry - and custom weapons will require custom entries all their own, but the work for these has been done). Ideally, this can be applied to any sort of melee weapon. MandalTech provides swords, spears and two-edged axes by default at this point in time. These standard weapons can be aesthetically different in terms of, say, a sword's cross-guard or an etching, but each conforms to weight and length standards.

Should one wish to modify an existing weapon to being a force weapon, however, a simple formula can be followed: add two kilograms of weight to the weapon and ensure there is a full sword hilt's worth of space internally to add the generators without compromising structural integrity. Such weapons will not come with lightsaber resistance unless they are already made as such with cortosis, songsteel or what have you. (And an appropriate Factory submission, too.)

The primary advantage of a force weapon is sheer destructive power. Vibration settings coupled with the shock means that most armour is rendered to paper, given that a force weapon is practically second to a lightsaber in terms of attack. However, being a solid weapon, it can still get stuck in, say, metal objects that it has not cleanly sliced through. Obviously, being second to a lightsaber still means it still cannot cut through thick blast doors - expect it more to cut through personal armour and its associated thicknesses of metal cleanly. The shock setting can be used for anything from outright murder to mildly shocking an opponent as a distraction - the variable setting is controlled by a knob (usually on the pommel). The hilt or grip of the weapon is insulated against the shock travelling back to the user. A single button on the hilt or grip will activate what is lovingly called the power field, simultaneously powering on the vibration and shock setting. Blue arcs of energy can be seen travelling the contact points of the weapon, making it very obvious that a force weapon isn't just your standard piece of kit. It also only requires the same sort of training that a normal weapon of its type would require, giving non-Force-users the power to crush their enemies without the specialised training that a lightsaber requires, or the price tag.

The biggest drawback to a force weapon, however, is the weight. Force weaponry is always going to be heavier than its normal counterparts due to the added power requirements as well as simply installing the technology required. Unless a user is specifically stronger than average - and by average we assume that 'average' applies as 'everyone around here is basically an olympic lifter anyway' - then chances are they will need to use a force weapon two-handed. The only exception to this is the force spear, whose small cutting surface coupled with the extremely elongated haft means that it can be used one-handed like a normal spear thanks to being able to balance the weight more efficiently - but the weight is still certainly felt. Power is also a major issue. Using similar power cells to the MT-TX Omni-Tool (which is rapidly becoming MandalTech standard), a power weapon has fifteen continuous minutes of charge with the power field active. The power cell can be replaced, but this may take a minute or so to accomplish - a mid-fight replacement is simply not possible. Using it without the power field active still makes it a viable weapon, however, so it is highly recommended to activate it to bolster powerful attacks in order to conserve energy for prolonged engagement.

While I appreciate that you obtained cortosis through a development thread to do this, I would like to see a little more development for the hammer, due to its large flat surface which differs from the others, such as the pike or sword that have their edges/tips used rather than a broad, flat, surface. Just some R&D with testing, 10 posts, should be enough. Conversely you could bypass that and not include a hammer model, either works.
