"Do you really think this will work?"
"Of course. Just a few samples from them and we can get to work."
"Do you think it makes a difference if they're evil or not?"
"What?"
"Do they have different midichlorians if they're Jedi or Sith?"
"That's what we're here to find out. If we're lucky, we'll be using the Force ourselves before long, and think how much we can market this for!"
"I don't get why we have to keep them here. It's dangerous."
"We need to interview them, find out how to use it. Don't worry. They won't be a threat to us here."
The holding cells are sterile, white and cold. Each holds a Force user, brought to the facility through means of dubious legality. Outside the cells a series of guards patrol, picked not for their intelligence but for their ability to obey orders blindly. The cells' occupants have been stripped of their weapons and armour, only provided with medical robes to preserve their modesty. The gentle hum of the machinery is soothing; less so is the fact that the facility is projecting an anti-Force shield.
The scientists are keeping a safe distance, observing only through cameras what is going on. For now the Force users sleep, unaware that their blood is being analysed in the hopes of unleashing a wave of pseudo-Force users on the galaxy.
