HISTORICAL INFORMATION
As long as there have been those with the ability to use the force, the have been Force Incarnations. Much like Force Ghosts in general the only difference is while Force Ghosts are those of dead, Force Incarnations tend to be a copy of someone that is still alive, not to say it can't be a copy of someone dead. The Force Incarnations can keep the one who mentally created it with the Force in check. They are also only able to be seen by the one who made them. The first ones were made by Force Ghost so they could be seen by everyone, and they were used as a body like precsen. During The Clone Wars, it was found that nondead force users could create their own as a way of talking to someone they can trust. (Disclaimer: This next part is purely fictional, but is fitting) So, it has also been thought that Kylo Ren, Ben Solo, had created a Force Incarnation of his father knowing his father wouldn't be a Force Ghost
