SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Through force radiation and extensive metalwork, it is a vastly strong piece of material that can perform at the level of Mandalorian Iron. The metal seems to attract force energy and possesses the ability to seep it away from powers used against it or from the host itself if direct contact is made with it.
Strengths:
  • Durability - Qer itself is a strong and resilient piece of metal. Qer that has been forged by an individual practicing force-smithing, it becomes much the same resistance as Mandalorian Iron. It consumed the force energy of the smith and was strengthened by it.
  • Heat Resistant - Force-smithed Qer has a very high melting point and doesn't absorb much in the way of heat energy.
  • Low Force Absorption (Satiated) - Much like the unrefined and standard forms of Qer, the Force-smithed version has some manner of force absorption though not to the same degree. Someone with the force attempting to manipulate the metal itself will have difficulties. While those using force-lightning will find targeting it slightly easier than standard Qer, the wearer will still be able to tolerate the onslaught longer than a standard metal.
Weaknesses:
  • Weakness to Electricity - Like many metals Force-Smithed Qer is susceptible to electricity. While it provides better resistance to electricity from force powers, it isn't as much as standard or unrefined Qer.
DESCRIPTION
There had been rumors among some of the less refined and civilized tribes on Antisoch of ancient Sociph with pointed ears, long lives, strange powers, and near indestructible metals. It was often believed that these were simple stories referencing the standard form of qer as, though it is not indestructible, it could certainly have seemed that way to early Sociph who lacked the power or technological advances to break the metal.

Credence was given to these rumors after Nicair Claden, the most recent and arguably controversial Qer'ak in Sociph recorded history, attempted to work with the metal after discovering his force sensitivity. While all kinds of smithing can certainly be draining physically, once he had finished forging even a small plate of qer he was drained physically and mentally. A change had taken place in the metal as well, it wasn't the same color as standard qer. While it still had the makings of the reddish bronze that qer was known for, it was lighter, almost grey in appearance. Like any good and curious smith, Nicair tested the resiliency of the metal and after some stress of having blaster bolts reflected off of it and enough heat to melt the standard form, he concluded that it was at least comparable to the beskar that made up his armor.

The process of Force-Smithing, while still draining when working with the force-hungry qer, is a process that can prove valuable in countering certain acids designed to nullify beskar when the rarity and obscurity of qer is taken into account.
