STRENGTHS
- Front Runner: The Fog Runner is equipped with several laser cannon weapons spread across its hull. Capable of adjusting the two turret mounted weapons both above and below the main hull, the Fog Runner can bring a devastating barrage of firepower to bear on a target it is chasing, as well as protect itself from attacks from most directions. The bottom mounted turret as well allows for the Fog Runner to serve as a support vessel to ground forces, strafing along a target without having to dive directly towards it.
- Sensor Fog: The Fog Runner gets its name from its primary means of defense, the Sensor Jammer Fog it can release. When in a dogfight situation, the Fog Runner carries several dozen gallons of water which it can rapidly evaporate and eject into the air around it, creating a moving fog trail around the vessel. It can then activate the Sensor Jammer it is equipped with. The Sensor Jammer field is contained within the thick fog around the vessel, preventing enemy ships from getting a target lock on the Fog Runner, as well as making it difficult to get a direct visual sight of the craft.
- Profile: The Fog Runner is designed around a flat plain design, presenting a small target from the front or rear, but a large target from above or below. This poses a risk to the vessel when it is in atmosphere or making attack runs against larger enemy targets, and it must rely on its speed and Sensor Jammer to protect it in close range battles near anti-air weapons or capital ships.
- Limited Arsenal: The Fog Runner only carries three seismic charges to protect itself from pursuing enemy craft, and a single cluster of six missiles for mid to long range engagements. Once these are used, the vessel must rely on its lighter laser weaponry in a dogfight scenario, a disadvantage given the lighter damage output all except the front mounted lasers fire.
The Fog Runner is the first vessel designed by Darth Seraphon for his goals within the wider Sith Order. Taking inspiration from ancient atmospheric tie fighters of the first Galactic Empire, the Fog Runner is designed to fit a variety of roles within the Sith Order military structure. It is capable of engaging enemy starfighters in close and mid range dogfights, protecting larger vessels from bombers, as well as supporting ground forces from airborne threats and providing direct fire support. Given its hyperdrive unit, the Fog Runner is also capable of being deployed as a hit and run force beyond the support of Sith Order fleets, hitting targets of high priority before making a quick withdrawal once its heavier ordinance has been used.
