Silas was currently in a very unorthodox condition for himself. Normally he wouldn't be seen without his typical garments and face mask adorning his person, but when it came down to working on a ship, you really couldn't have those things getting in your way. So he was wearing a typical mechanics outfit, without a mask of any sort, which proved a mighty distraction for some of the crew members in the area around the TIE's. Mainly the female ones, but some of the males too.
This was because Silas was Hapan, and not that old. He was, for lack of a better term, beautiful.
He worked the spanner in the underside of the TIE, cursing at its antiquity, and then wiped some grease off of his hand and onto the mechanics garb. He'd already had to deal with a few people in regards to rank. Some of the idiot officers thought he was a lowly grease monkey because he was fixing the TIE himself. He'd quickly righted their way of thinking.
Since he was the one that had been flying it when it malfunctioned, he was going to be the one that fixed it, even though the fault wasn't his own. But he wasn't going to take orders from a lowly officer, and he was going to assert his authority over anyone that got in his way. He still thought it was interesting that one of the first people he'd met that was supporting the Order was a female Hapan. Interesting and also annoying, because he knew how the woman was likely to treat him.
"Karkin piece of crap. We need better ships than these. Stupid coffins."
