Flower for an Aristocra

"Which group is claiming this area of space now?"

"The Silver Sanctum Coalition."

"Hm, How much information do we have on them?"

"Very little Syndic, they're the result of two separate groups amalgamating. We know they have Force traditions and a focus on space exploration."

"Particularly militant?"

"Not that we have records of."

"Current leadership?"

"Uncertain. We have limited information on a family that was present in the Force using sub-sect, the Heavenshields. With the restructuring the hierarchy is unknown."

"I see."

Nikolai leaned back in the command chair of the Chiss Star Destroyer as it continued it's journey through hyperspace. A human might have steepled or drummed their fingers at this point. Nikolai was no human. He remained unreadable as he considered this information. Or lack thereof. Considering the isolation the the Chiss generally kept themselves in, this wasn't bad. It was enough to work with in any case.

"Send a message when we drop out of hyperspace."

"Contents?"

"Polite reassurance. They are not Chiss, so you will need to be particularly blunt. Not invading, not unfriendly, not settling etcetera. You may as well tell them what we're here for."

"Are you sure?"

"It makes no difference. What will they care if our Aristocra has an interest in Botany and wants yet another species for her collection?"

"Is it wise to reveal House Inrokinis interests?"

"We do not deal with them. We are unlikely to speak or interact again. Even assuming they do come to us in the future with a rare specimen, our Aristocra will not be swayed to any great extent."

"Of course Syndic. Shall I send it to the Heavenshield Patriarch?"

"Humans are largely patriarchal still no? Even if not, assume that he will forward it to the correct individual."

"Yes Sir."

As the ship dropped out of Hyperspace, a message was sent off to one [member="Thurion Heavenshield"]. No response was particularly expected or needed, it was simply a polite formality.

The wording of the message was slightly awkward. The officer trying to find the correct balance between the usual guardedness of Chiss and the additional information he'd been asked to supply as well as the tone he felt was necessary to speak with humans effectively. Likely Nikolai with his more extensive diplomatic background should have composed it himself, but he just didn't feel it was necessary.

To: Thurion Heavenshield
From: House Inrokini

House Inrokini wishes to advise House Heavenshield that they will be in the vicinity of the planet known as Iego for up to a standard galactic week.

While House Inrokini is traveling on a Star Destroyer they have no militant aspirations. No damage or permenant effects will be caused by the visit of House Inrokini.

Syndic Inrokini'kol'airik wishes to supply House Heavenshield with the information that this is a largely botanical mission to humour the personal interests and hobbies of the Aristocra of House Inrokini.

"Approaching planet."

"Weapons system is on yes?"

"Syndic, we just.."

"To be used defensively. Unless you'd rather be marooned with a bunch of aliens?"

"No Syndic."

"Well then. If the natives try and swarm us, blast them out of the sky."

"Yes Syndic."

Chiss liked information, and they were good at finding it. When your libraries were known to be superior even to those of Obroa-skai at their height, as long as you were willing to put in the work and research you could find a truly staggering amount of information, even on things other people thought were mysterious.

Other people being those who weren't Chiss, obviously.

Still, there was no swarm from the many moons. Perhaps the charged weapons, of the claw-crafts which had been released and were darting around their mother ship were warning enough. These were no unprepared spacers. No slovenly smugglers. There were Chiss. This was House Inrokini.

"We've found a likely location Syndic."

"Elaborate."

"We'll be able to maintain a stable orbit without danger from any of the moons over an area with terrain likely to contain the target."

Nikolai nodded once.

"Enter orbit."

"Yes Syndic."

New course settings were made and the Star Destroyed moved into position, gaining a stable orbit above the same geographical location. Important if you wanted to make sure you had back up at a moments notice. While Nikolai doubted they would run into any trouble or resistance, other than from the target, it never hurt to be careful.

"Stable orbit achieved Syndic."

"Signal the exploratory teams."

"Yes Syndic."
