Two hours after the incident at Club Dusk…
Tom stepped outside into the cool night air of the hotel courtyard. The building was upscale, one of the stratosphere-scrapers Coruscant was known for. Even here at “ground level” he was in one of the ascended levels of the planetary city. He couldn’t afford to stay at a place like this, and was only there because he had been invited in.
He walked off the paved path and over the grass which had been carefully cultivated as decoration. It was very very late—well past midnight by now—but the horizon was still glittering with multicolored lights as bright as a sunrise. Everyone who lived this high up must have thick blinds over all their windows to be able to sleep at night.
Tom himself couldn’t sleep. Maybe he was too wired by all the excitement from earlier, or maybe something else was on his mind, keeping him awake. But he felt it was useless to try and go to bed. He decided to go for a walk instead.
Moving at a leisurely pace, he made his way across the courtyard and through the gate which led to a street, not really sure where he was headed.
