The void of space loomed beyond the confines of Vereshin's protective suit. Hovering above the walls of a derelict warship, he pulled himself into a wide opening which appeared to be a hangar bay. Creatures of the stars chipped away at metal as he pulled away disintegrated shards with a gloved hand. He looked behind for his companion, the Mandalorian sent to accompany him on a journey into a ghost ship, bound by a rift.

The old hangar bay allowed them a vast view of their surroundings. Vereshin turned his head to survey the indigo blanket, dotted sparsely with white dots and welcoming the most far-seeing mind. He peeled away the metal eaten by creatures of deep space and allowed one to crawl across his hand. The black insect with legs like steel made no intention of jabbing any fangs into his hand, making him sure that the creature survived on the remnants of machinery.

"Good bye, beastie." He said as he let the space bug crawl away and continue to gnaw on the edge of hanger door. Several more gathered and followed the insect around the side of the door and outside onto the hull of the ship.

With a few clicks on the datapad on his wrist device, Vereshin keyed in information which he collected along the way. He noticed the creatures, how they looked and what they ate. The protective suit consisted of an imbued robe and hood, over a mask which concealed his head and heavy boots. He pushed himself away from the door and strode leisurely across the space, pushing himself into a further crevice of the ship.

"What drove you to accompany me, Kaira?" As the minutes passed, he decided to pressure his companion. "Are you interested in anomalies of an astral sort?" He asked through the raspy tone of the mask. Kaira had said little following their arrival, which piqued Vereshin's curiosity. He assumed she had no interested in astrophysics or magic of a cosmic kind, making him question her ambitions and reason for joining him. The rift in which the ship lay, proved to be Vereshin's key interest.

Debris floated through the empty space of the hull. Leaping gently over steel, Vereshin followed crevices and spaces, feeling through the force for any strong pull of energy which might lead him to the mouth of the rift. Every so often, the ship jolted and sent Kaira and himself tumbling. He was thrown to the side and grasped an extending tube for dear life. The forces surging through the hull indicated to Vereshin and Kaira that they were not alone.

"That's curious..." Vereshin cooed, his interest heightened. As he looked down a corridor, he noticed the pieces of debris being pulled in a certain direction. He clicked a few baps on his wrist device as he noted the change in the gravitational pull. Following the floating pieces of metal, he leaped across the side of the corridor and turned into a dark corner. A flurry of movement passed by his side, accompanied by a pair of glowing eyes staring him down from the darkness.

"Oh no?" Vereshin asked rhetorically. "Well then, perhaps we can incite your interest!" Speaking with slight enthusiasm, he did not really expect Kaira to suddenly develop an interest with the anomalies of deep space and only spoke out of the delight of his own research. He jumped across the steel interior of the ship and clung on to a hanging pipe, propelling himself upside down and poking his head into a hole.

More space bugs gnawed away at the inside of the tunnel. Vereshin pulled his head away to avoid them clinging to his hood. "My name is Vereshin, by the way. I go by Vi if you like." He said as he bounded out of the hole, having realized that Kaira did not yet know his name. As he moved down the length of the corridor, a force brushed past him and he turned his head to see the flurry of a shadow disappear behind the corner.

"What exactly is your experience?" Vereshin asked, not meaning to be impolite. He was simply curious. The fluttering shadow caught his gaze and he moved towards the edge of the corner, poked his head around the side and looked for any source of the movement. There was nothing to be seen, merely the blast marks and hovering flags of a battle long ago.

The war flag seemed to be pulled in the direction of the debris, signalling to Vereshin the opening of a rift deep inside of the ship. Starlight filled the hall and drew him in the direction of the floating pieces. Behind the the hovering war flag, two red lights flashed in the shadows and caused him to jolt backwards. Company was on the move, leaving Vereshin and Kaira on their most heightened wits if they did not wish to become pray to an astral anomaly.

"I do believe somebody has already made a home of this ship." Vereshin spoke with a chipper tone, more curious than afraid.

"It's Kaira." She said, moving along behind the Sith as he disappeared into a hole. She didn't want to give too much information away to the man. Her family had been clean and efficient in their task. No witnesses. No survivors. The only people who could possibly identify the "Ghost Fleet" was the very last fleet they fought. The one that destroyed them. Even then, she doubted anyone had even heard the name "Eyeris". But it being cautious never hurt; it was especially prudent when being too forward could end with a lightsaber through the gut.

The man popped back out, small creatures agitated in his wake, and asked about her experience. "I used to do deep-space salvage operations. Part of the family business." Not entirely accurate, but close enough. She did a lot of salvaging in deep space with her family. She just didn't include disabling and venting the ships she would go on to salvage.

Vi turned back, his attention caught by something outside of Kaira's view. She peered around the corner and spotted the flag. Something wasn't right. She removed her rifle and held it at the ready. There shouldn't have been working lights on something this old. That meant activity. Recent activity.

"Keep an eye out. It's probably just scavvers, but... you never really know with these old ships."
