APPEARANCE:
Average height and above average charisma, many describe Flint as a polarizing figure, as if they’ve seen him before in some sort of holovid somewhere. Flint usually just rubs it off and says he’s never been one for acting, and that his talents lie elsewhere.
BIOGRAPHY:
While Flint cared for his father and thought him a decent man, his father was in the end an incompetent man, being bankrupt and forced into less legal methods of acquiring currency. This didn’t sit well with Flint, so when he was old enough and smart enough to escape the house without his father’s notice he fled, heading towards The Republic hitch-hiking rides as he could. 15 years old when he reached Coruscant he enlisted in the Republic Navy, using a fake visa to make him seem old enough to enlist. In the Republic Navy he learned to fly fighters, interceptors, bombers, gunships, dropships and even aided in piloting some larger ships like corvettes and frigates. With the galaxy just emerging from the Gulag Plague and many nations scrambling to expand and claim territory it was hard work, but it was honest work, and Flint felt he was making a difference in life.
Flint’s first major battle was the Battle of Roche, where he fought Sith Forces dutifully under the service of Admiral Stahlmann. Unfortunately for Flint, serving dutifully and even excellently doesn’t always mean a safe recovery. After a long hard fight and taking down over half a squadron of fighters he was shot down and captured by Sith Forces. Flint was good, but he was no [member="Judah Dashiell"] or [member="Thessa Kai"]. Not even old enough to technically be doing his job Flint was captured behind enemy lines, and undergoing the brutalities of Sith Interrogation. Though he could not keep track of the time Flint was tortured for four, maybe five days before the Sith discovered he knew nothing. He sat alone in the prisons of the Sith for a couple of weeks before he was informed he’d be transferred for experimental study, with guards making bets on which alchemist he’d be sent to. A day or two later the prison was stormed, and Flint saved, being carried out of the prison by a Republic Marine named Henrietta Ford.
Recovery after that was difficult and long, but was made more enjoyable by visits from the Ms. Ford whenever she wasn’t on assignment. It was infrequent at best, but the two began exchanging holomails and became regular friends. After Flint requested to be transferred to deployment and extraction duty rather than dogfights he managed to get into Henrietta’s unit, dropping her off as she went to save the universe, one Sith-abused world at a time. The two got closer and closer until eventually Flint proposed to be married once they got out of the service, though Flint would never hear wedding bells.
Just as Flint was captured in the line of duty, so too would Henrietta on an op gone bad. Flint did his job and extracted as many lives as he could, but couldn’t get the one that mattered to him most. Mission after tireless mission he ran without her, until the squad finally discerned where she was being held. The Sith prison world of Metalorn.
Along with his squad, the Jedi, and much of the Republic Military Flint fought at Metalorn, taking down air defenses and fighters as he could with his dropship as he found which prison held his wife. Against orders Flint throttled into the hotzone he deployed the squad of marines to save the Republic soldiers and citizens hidden within the prison walls. He hung as long as he could, but the Jedi Master Matsu Ike unleashed the Force on the prison, murdering his wife and the squad he’d sent to their deaths. Returning to the Republic Military his commanders didn’t hide their disapproval or rage, and neither could Flint. Attacking the nearest Jedi he could find he beat a Jedi Knight, until he was thrown ten feet backwards onto his back without so much as a wave of a hand. From there Flint was dishonorably discharged from duty, causing Flint to turn to the people he hated, if only so he could get back at the people he hated more. The cult that had murdered his Fiancé.
While Flint’s admission to the Sith was met with scrutiny initially after he turned over what knowledge he had of his former ranking officers and ships he was given much more respect and leeway into his operations. Over many skirmishes as a dogfighter he ended up killing dozens of Republic Fighters, and even confirmed three kills on Jedi Pilots. The revenge was addicting, and the Sith Empire treated him well for a non-Force user. He eventually caught the eye of a Lady Vaeloria, a Sith Lord who operated primarily in the Sith Fleet. Lady Vaeloria added him as a fighter pilot to serve on her personal carrier, where he was the second in command to Vaeloria’s apprentice Hargon, with which he became fast friends.
Through Hargon Flint spent more and more time with the Lady Vaeloria, who despite having advanced Flint by a number of years seemed to have a certain allure to her, a charm that he couldn’t describe, a beauty that he could not place. Being a younger and more charming man himself Vaeloria eventually commanded Flint to her quarters, where the two spent night after night. As time grew the two became closer, until Flint was no longer sure if what they had was a fling, an escape from the brutalities of war, or the love he couldn’t remember. The next time Vaeloria took Flint to her chamber she spoke similar feelings and poured out her heart, only for Flint to take a vibroknife and run it through. Dead, heavy, and bleeding on Flint he remained confused as to what exactly happened until Hargon arrived, and told him he had done well.
A mentalist, Hargon had arranged for the handsome up-and-comer to get into Vaeloria’s ship, and planted seeds deep in his mind to pursue and love Vaeloria, and kill her at her weakest. Remembering his dead fiancé for the first time in over a year he realized just how deeply he’d been manipulated, to forgetting his true love and engaging in an old sith’s lewd fantasies to necessitate the political movement of her apprentice. Being of what Hargon described as “weak mind” he was imprisoned, to be mentally wiped and repurposed by Hargon as if the event had never happened.
The rest of Flint’s Squadron heard of Flint’s imprisonment, and though unaware of the larger implications they rushed to his side, managing to free Flint and help him escape, though not without casualties along the way. Moving away from Sith or Republic space Flint was done, done with the larger governments of the galaxy, done with the power of the Force, and done being in service to someone else. Dropping every last credit he could muster he went to only place he knew, the open skies of the galaxy.
