Public Flight of the Cyrus (Rimward, traders, merchants)

Location: Arsenae

The excitement in the air was almost palpable, like a static charge that made the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Everyone held their enthusiasm in check as best they could, even still they were almost like children on the night before life day. Who could blame them when they were about to make such an undertaking as this. Not everyone got to chance to take 5he largest freighter in the fleet on its maiden voyage.

The "Cyrus", a Galaxy Class Merchant Vessel, was the largest freighter designed and built by the Arsenians. In fact it was the largest vessel they ever built. At five kilometers long and twelve hundred wide, it was a giant of a freighter. A small army of crew memebers worked tirelessly to prepare the freighter for its first ever run. All four cargo bays had been packed full of containers brought in from various planets surrounding Arsenae. The most important cargo of all, however, were representatives from the Rimward Trade League. They had been invited to witness the maiden voyage of such a vessel. Which is why the "Cyrus" was making its first voyage to the Rimwards headquarters on Susefvi.

Onboard the bridge the "Cyrus's" captain, Khloe Argyros, was going over last minute checks. All the while she awaited the arrival of their guests.

It took a lot to impress Aeshi when it came to ships. She’d flown with Jorus Merrill and the Underground before they established themselves as a government. And in that time, she’d seen ships that could go to Otherspace, ships that were impossibly fast, and ships with more punch than they had any right to be.

But this? She was impressed as shes strode through the maze of corridors that lines the behemoth. Warships were the only ships bigger than this that she had seen, and most of those had been from the wrong end of the turbolaser batteries.

She’d actually cleaned her jacket and hat for this, sprucing up her normally somewhat shabby look, as made her way through the halls, taking a look at the metal work and how it was all designed. The Arsenians being a female-only species threw her for a few loops, but it was hardly the strangest thing she’d seen.

Aeshi paused for a moment at the entrance of the bridge, taking it all in. It was clean and crisp. Everything a professional spacer could dream of when it came to commanding a ship. She could just make out the escorts and support ships through the viewport as well.

“Mighty fine ship you’ve got here,” Aeshi said at last, stopping a few paces behind the caprain. “I’m almost even jealous.”
