--Ossus; Dueling Room

The room was basic. Four chrome walls, a viewport looking out into the wilds, a balcony that ran along one wall, connected by a hanging walkway to another balcony on the opposite side. The floor and walls were marred by scorch marks. A table in the rear of the room was covered in round little training droids.

Cronos waited in the middle of the room. He'd called Morgana on for another spar, and invited the young Zak Dymo as well. It'd be good training for the both of them, to face him together, but especially for Morgana. Her saberstaff would make it difficult to fight in tandem with a partner, because the weapon was so long -- today, he would help her learn. And then, finally, he could get around to properly training her.

And dragging her across the universe on dangerous missions.

He unclipped his saber and waited, gathering his energies. This would be a friendly spar, yes, but he meant to push them as far as they could go, and then some. He wasn't one for coddling.

A spar? This had been interesting. Master [member="Cronos Aegir"] had already taught Morgana some of the uses and techniques in fight with a lightsaber, especially a saberstaff. But even she knew she still had a lot to learn. Though she did not expect the next lesson would be an actual spar with him. She thought it would be more of the usual types, learning how to swing and maneuver the weapon correctly and son on. Apparently not. Still this would make for more experience and Morgana was learning each day how greatly needed experience was to progress, and she wanted to progress as much as possible. Finding the room she could already sense the power of master Cronos before entering. As she did she only bowed and said "I've arrived master. And I'm ready." not aware of the other padawan to was to come.

The nine year old Nautolan didn't have a lightsaber of his own, though one hung from the belt on the aquatic tunic that the small amphibian wore.

The perceive Jedi would note that the lightsaber was one belonging to [member="Nefertari Sovint"], indicating that the two shared a master and apprentice relationship. It was also starting to show some wear and tear, given that Zak had been somewhat less than gentle when he'd taken the lightsaber with him to the mission on Cyrillia. Or gotten himself into a duel with [member="Megan Rhymes"]. And, judging by the summons he had received, it didn't appear that he was going to any gentler with the borrowed lightsaber today either.

Entering into the training arena, the barefoot youngling made his way to the room indicated on the invitation that he had received. There were two Jedi already inside, neither of whom the Nautolan had met previously. Stepping into the doorway, the boy's coal black eyes reflected the image of a blonde man and a girl whose hair looked like it was black and red.

That was kind of cool.

Looking between the two, because they were both older than he was, the child quietly asked, "Is... is one of you, Master Aeir?"

Morgana arrived first, seemingly eager to continue her lessons. "Just a moment, Morgana. We await another."

The boy arrived shortly after. He was small, with greenish skin, and typical overlarge eyes like dark gems. "I am Master Aegir," Cronos said in answer to his question. "And you are Zak Dymo." He allowed Morgana to introduce herself, if she so chose. "Before we begin, I would like to know if their are any particular styles either of you are partial to, or would like to learn?"

He hadn't mastered every style, but he knew a fair share of all of them, save Juyo. He had considerable experience and skill with Ataru and Djem So. The Jedi he'd been cloned from had even train Je'gan Olra'en in Ataru, hundreds of years ago, and his talents were Cronos' talents.

Just as he had said they were awaiting another Morgana was about to ask who, only to hear the voice of a younger padawan behind her. She turned and was surprised to see how much younger this one was compared to her. When [member="Cronos Aegir"] had introduced [member="Zak Dymo"] Morgana only gave a little wave and smile, still a bit surprised her fight would be against him. He seemed so adorable and yet she had a feeling he would be as skilled as she was when it came to a fight. Though was the fight truly against him, or...?
When Master Cronos asked Morgana had answered with "Djem So. It's as good a form to start with in my case." she indicated her saberstaff.

The Nautolan bowed politely toward the Jedi Knight, then again toward the older padawan.

"Hi," the child chirped brightly, in response to the wave from the teenaged young woman. As discussion quickly turned to the business at hand, the boy's head-tails immediately perked up at the invocation of Form V.

"I... I, like, used to do Djem So, but she... but my master, she... she prefers Makashi," the boy supplied for himself, speaking in the halting manner in which children processed language. The prospect of getting to return to some Form V training was appealing. He'd used it a great deal in his duel with both Padawan Rhymes and Knight Sovint. By and large, the boy used simple Shii-cho, but the variations of blade work and counters that were possible with Form V made it more appealing to him.

"Can... can we do Djem So, Master?" the boy asked eagerly, turning his large eyes back toward the blond human at the center of the room.

"Djem So it is." Snap! Hiss! Golden light spilled across the scorch marked floor panels. He reached out with the Force and turned down the power dial -- enough to sting, but not quite burn.

"But first, I must see what you already know. Fight each other, first, employing what you know of Djem So sequences and velocities. Then, you'll face me one at a time; the watcher will focus on my movements in the Force and follow along, step for step." He waved a hand, at three training remotes came to life, floating from the table. "They," He said, gesturing, "will help you keep up.

"Then, if the both of you can still stand up, you'll face me together." He settled back to watch. "Gather your energies, and begin."

[member="Zak Dymo"] [member="Morgana Forceborn"]

Already Morgana knew how rough but fair of a master, but she still felt a bit overwhelmed when she was told to have to fight [member="Zak Dymo"] before having to fight [member="Cronos Aegir"] himself and THEN have to fight remote droids before being able to fight him together. She looked to the little nautolan and shrugged, knowing there was no point in arguing about it. She nodded to the boy before walking out towards the opposite end of the training room and taking a stance, saberstaff extended in hand before activating both blades. She spun them around before awaiting her opponent to be ready.

"Yay!" the youngling cheered, at the announcement that they would be practicing Djem So.

As the teenaged lady made her way across the training room, the small boy unhooked [member="Nefertari Sovint"]'s lightsaber from his belt, holding it by his side as he waited for the older girl to get situated. As she activated her saberstaff -- which, by the way, was AWESOME -- the boy brought the lightsaber handle up so that he was holding it at the waist with both hands as he bowed politely toward his opponent.

When he had straightened back up, the child bounced. Shifting his weight so that it was on the balls of his feet, the child shook out his limbs to limber up as he activated the weapon in his hand. The blade glowed a golden amber, humming as the child dropped into the opening stance of Form V.

Pushing off from the padding beneath his feet, the little amphibian didn't wait for the girl to take the initiative and prepared either test her defense on the far side of the mat or else meet her in the center.

Cronos settled back to watch them, making note of their technique. He'd misled them, somewhat, as he had every intention of randomly attacking them during their duel to test their senses.

For now, though, he only watched, making mental note of who to teach what.

OOC: You guys don't have to wait for me to post. I do want you to keep tagging me, though.

As [member="Zak Dymo"] Morgana had taken her staff and spun it in front of her in a circle. It was slow, only an indication she was ready for him if he tried to make a strike at her. As she did she showed her foot-work by circling him. She was watching and waiting for him to finally move, only instead to try and make the first move herself. She feinted a right attack only to come sweeping from the left. She maneuvered around to where she could better strike, now trying little jabs forward towards him. She hoped she was helping to show hoe well she could handle her weapon in front of [member="Cronos Aegir"] though wondered what would come from the next trail of their exercises.

As she feinted left, the boy had aimed to counter with a lateral sweep of his own blade. Then he could try a riposte and...

...ON THE RIGHT!

Dropping his arms, the child brought the blade so that it was perfectly upright. Keeping the blade position stable, the boy changed his footwork, stepping around so that the upright blade connected along the extended blade of the saberstaff. THAT was too close.

Keeping the motion of turning with his body, the child stepped around with his feet, pushing off from the young woman's blade as he dropped his center of gravity. Squatting, the youngling pulled his blade down and out, swinging back into a sweep that ran parallel to the floor and was aimed to try and take out the girl's legs.

[member="Morgana Forceborn"] | [member="Cronos Aegir"]

He was quick, which Morgana to add to his height. Good thing he knew how to use both too. Once he came in trying to sweep at her legs she counted with the opposite end of her saberstaff coming down and blocking it. With himself exposed she tried to smack his saber up in order to come down on his head. She knew that given the setting her training saber was on it wouldn't kill him, but it would hurt to be sure. If he'd blocked or dodged that she would try to advance with swinging motion, bringing her saberstaff down on a vertical motion from the shoulder towards the opposite leg, and that was for both sides of the nautolan as she juggled between each hand she carried it in.
[member="Zak Dymo"] [member="Cronos Aegir"]

As the child's lightsaber was deflected up, the boy continued with the momentum of motion. Stepping up, the boy did a pirouette as he fluidly blended with the direction of movement, stepping around to avoid the downward arc of the girl's blade. In the flurry of motion, the child's head-tails whipped through the air, bouncing against the left side of his head and then swinging around to tap against the right. [member="Nefertari Sovint"]'s signature Makashi was visible in the boy's footwork, giving hints of the master within the student's performance. A bubbling giggle escaped from the boy in a breathless expression of joy as he danced out from under the girl's counter.

Now this was sparring!

Pulling his arm back and around, the child twirled the saber in his hand, gripping it in both hands as he snapped it back up to block the diagonal chop from the left. Extending out with the weapon in just one hand, the boy smacked the side of his blade to halt the momentum of the diagonal chop from the right, then pulled the blade downward before sliding it parallel to the floor as he stepped forward.

The thrust jabbed forward at the boy's chest level, aimed at stabbing the girl in the gut.

[member="Morgana Forceborn"] | [member="Cronos Aegir"]

Footwork was better than she thought. Clearly [member="Zak Dymo"] had more training outside of [member="Cronos Aegir"] . It became more clear with his movements before he tried to make a stab for Morgana's gut. With a quick jerk she was able to bring the other end of her saber up to block it; the end of his saber just singeing against her vest. That was close. She needed to keep up her defenses and realize the actual height of the boy. That was his advantage over her, but Morgana would need to think around that.
She broke off from him after their blades locked before coming in for a another sweep. She put her whole body into it as she turned, bringing the saber around to meet with his head. Knowing he would block she waited before ducking down and trying to sweep-kick the feet out from under him.

The boy brought the blade perpendicular to the mat, pivoting at the waist as he prepared to step through her attack...

...and then she seemed to disappear. This was followed shortly after by the wall and ceiling suddenly changing positions in the boy's field of vision. She'd feinted again, hadn't she? The Nautolan smacked down onto the mat, lightsaber still ignited as he held it in both hands, parallel to his body.

Welp. That hadn't work like he'd thought it would.

Maintaining the momentum of the fall, the child kicked his legs to the side, twisting the lower half of his body as he raised himself up onto his shoulder blades. Kicked up in a spiral, he hoped he was in time to avoid her next attack. If he was successful, the boy would shift the lightsaber to his off-hand as stretched his right palm out toward the mat with a gentle Force Push intended to propel him back and create space in which to buy himself a second to recover.

[member="Morgana Forceborn"] | [member="Cronos Aegir"]

With [member="Zak Dymo"] down Morgana tried to follow up by pinning him to the ground, hopefully ensuring victory. However he was quick as usual, moving out of the way in time and rolling back before hitting with a sudden Force Push. While it might have been aimed to propel him back it still left an effect on Morgana, since she had not prepared for it. She felt herself being forced back as she tried to keep her feet on the ground. When it stopped she fell to one knee for a moment, needing to catch her breath. The nautolan was proving tenacious and Morgana had to given him that much credit for his age.
Now trying to catch him off-guard again she charged towards him, only instead she jumped at the last minute and landed behind him. In the commotion she tried to push her saber back, given how she held it, to strike him in the back in the process.
[member="Cronos Aegir"]

The young Nautolan sprang back up into the opening stance of Djem So, readying himself to counter the girl's charge.

Then, she went all Ataru on him.

Confused by the leap, the boy hesitated. Jumping, for an overhead slash? No, she just jumped. Was this trampolines now? He supposed to could have attacked her in mid-air, but the youngling honestly wasn't sure just what had happened. Or was going on.

Master Sovint probably would have described the boy's confusion as normal.

Blinking, realizing that she was already behind him, the boy went to pivot when a sharp, static shock tapped him. Propelled forward, the boy skipped ahead a few steps as he was pushed by the girl's lightsaber.

Shutting off his lightsaber, the boy turned toward the girl and bowed respectfully in deference to her. "That thing is so weird," the child commented, referring to the saberstaff. He'd seen Jedi practicing with them, but hadn't actually practiced with someone that used one before.

[member="Morgana Forceborn"] | [member="Cronos Aegir"]

Morgana had turned quick, expecting [member="Zak Dymo"] to make a counter. Instead he bowed to her and then commented about her saberstaff. She was a bit surprised before a smile came across her face. She merely nodded her head while keeping her staff ready and on the defensive. "You know, ordinarily someone might take offense or try to argue why a staff is better, but thanks. I like that it's weird." Trying to keep the conversation going while allow both herself and the boy to catch their breaths she added "You pretty good too. Quick and good with your footing. Pretty impressive for someone at your age. Must have a good teacher." She figured [member="Cronos Aegir"] as the one to have officially taught him.

The boy nodded with a smile, looking over at Master Aegir as he waited for instructions from the Jedi.

He assumed that since the girl had struck him with her lightsaber, that the match -- or at least, this match -- was over, and waited to see what instruction or guidance that their Jedi overseer might have based on the spar.
