Finding Finesse (Xardus Folidaar)

Krest would wave a hand, causing the rocks to suddenly shift about, trying to trip [member="Xardus Folidaar"] . The purpose was suppose to get Xardus to adapt, force him to move differently and change his direction suddenly. Such was the way of Makashi after all. The Zabrak would remain on the sidelines, changing the directions every now and then.

Through the force, Xardus felt small projectiles making their way towards him, aiming to throw him off. Instead of letting that happen, he would slide his foot around the rocks or jump over them, going the direction they had come from. The more he got into it, the better he understood the form, and soon opened his eyes, still moving about.

The Zabrak kept lazily waving his hand, a smile plain on his face. "Good! This is exactly what you should be doing! Keep it up." Of course, Krest wouldn't make it easy. His second hand would come around, pulling over more and more rocks to trip [member="Xardus Folidaar"] up.

Nodding at the encouragement, Xardus didn't let it go to his head. Instead, he kept at his movements, his footwork getting more complicated to a point where soon, not even he was sure what he was doing. Through the force however, he continued to dance his own jig, amazed at how well he was actually doing.

Krest nodded along with what ever song happened to be in his head, but would stop the rocks movements with a quick wave of his hand. Looking over to [member="Xardus Folidaar"] , he would motion for the mans blade. "Now that you have the footwork, let's begin with the blade aspect, shall we?"

"Sure. I've been waiting for that." Stopping his dance, Xardus walked over to his teacher and waited patiently. Though he knew he'd be using it, he would not draw his blade without being told. He knew the value of such patience, and would take to it. After all, he hadn't got here by pushing everything.

The Zabrak would raise both of his hands and shut his eyes, focusing on the river bed. With a slight tug, rocks would float upwards, hovering. "The ground will still change, and the floating rocks are your targets. Cut them in half while you watch your footwork. If either are missed, ill be sure to knock you down." His tone was far more serious now. This aspect of it involved doing two things at once, not an easy feat.

"Begin."

Nodding to show he understood, Xardus pulled th blade from his sheath and got bit his ready stance. As soon as the first rock flew towards him, he danced out of the way and sliced it, cutting it clean in half. He may have not been the best dancer, but he was an excellent swordsman. He repeated this for some time, dancing and slicing, until the entire thing became one dance, fluidly moving from one rock to the next.

It would be sometime, hours, before the Zabrak would let this dance stop. Using both of his hands he would make the rocks dance on their own, constantly trying to exploit any hole he could find in [member="Xardus Folidaar"] 's footwork to bring him to his knees. Krest was relentless, his brow knitted in concentration as he moved the many rocks in complicated ways. It wasn't an easy thing for Krest to do, but moving the rocks in one at a time was key for the one on one form.

As the stones weaved in more complicated patterns, so did Xardus's body. He would reach deep within himself to understand the direction of the projectiles, slicing each one in half the dead second it came within three feet of him. Some would get withing a foot, but even then he was able to cut it down. Soon however, he began to tire out. He wouldn't be able to do this forever, surely his teacher knew that.

Krest had actually forgotten the need to rest for [member="Xardus Folidaar"] . It wasn't that he expected him to be able to ladt forever, but more of the fact that he himself wasn't tired. He wasn't doing much however, and finally it would hit him that Xardus was doing pretty much all the work. Bringing his hands down, so to would the rocks fall, and he would let out a slight laugh. "Heh, sorry if Ai was pushin ya too much."

Xardus let forth a small smile as he let his arms rest. "It's quite alright. I was actually getting used to it." He did truly feel like he'd gotten the grasp of Makashi. It was a fight, yet a dance at the same time.

"Well, that would be a good thing. However, I think we are done with this. Continue training on your own if you would like, but you've gotten a firm understanding. Keep working at it, and perhaps we shall send you to the proving ground and see if you're worthy of being the Second Sword eh?" A wink came from Krest's direction to [member="Xardus Folidaar"] before the red man would stand up. He was impressed with Xardus's natural affinity for dance, even if the man didn't think he could at first. But there was nothing to show for now, and the second sword would need to continue on his own for the time being.
