Finding a balance in the Dark

Darth Valdra stood on a cliff side over looking the One Sith temple. He had come here after his outburst in Darth Rave's class. He knew he was strong, that he could crush enemies, but outside of battles and wars he felt useless and confused. Did he even have what it took to be a Sith Lord? How did you even gain respect here? How was a Sith suppose to ask? These questions were fueling his rage as he stood there with fire licking his body and consuming him. It did not burn him or his clothing, but he was not in the mood to contain it. He needed someone to show him the way of the Sith our the fires of his anger were going to consume him.

Watching from a seated position in the shadows after the completion of a meditation trance, she saw the figure of the male that had come to the Sith to learn their ways. She was unsure why he was really here except to gain some sort of revenge against another Sith Lord. Unfortunately the arrival of the Sith Lord in question had robbed her of any chance to study this man. Though in truth, it was no concern to her. But she was surprised to see the man still alive after his unexpected outing with the leader of the Sith Assassins.
Her eyes followed him like a predator stalking it's prey. She was curious where he was going. Acolytes were not allowed to leave the premise without permission and most Knights hung around, when not out fighting the enemies of the Sith, looking to snatch up their own Apprentices; or leach onto a Sith Lord. However this man was neither but a Lord himself. Still, she found it odd that he would take a stroll at this hour.
She glanced up briefly to the moon as it illuminated the area around the Temple, an ironic battle between light and dark she thought. For all the times she spent in the waning hours of the night meditating, she had never seen another simply go strolling about. She stood up and followed the man, not caring if he felt her presence or not. She was not a threat to him just as he wasn't to her. She rarely killed another Sith these days and the ones she did of late was because they had been to foolish to challenge her. Ambitions was always the downfall of the Sith.
"Odd time to stare off into the distance," she said, her voice barely over the tone of a whisper. She sensed the anger in the man. She sensed he was troubled. But a Sith cares not for the latter. However, this man had come here seeking answers and she now believed he had been robbed of what he sought. Perhaps he could be an ally rather than another rival.
"We are far from the prying eyes and ears of the others," she said with a soothing and calming voice. "Please....speak your mind."

Darth Valdra turned his head quickly to the Sith Lady, how had he been followed. He had a master level ability to sense, had his anger blinded him this much? the fire around him was licking the ground, but he had to gain control, this would be the worst person or second to worst person among the Sith to lose control around. His flames began to return to the Fire Shaper as he took a few deep breaths. She then questioned him, offering him to speak his mind with no holding back, but should he? Deceit was the trick of all Sith, so to trust one might not be such a good plan.

He stayed silent for a bit and decided he had nothing to fear, if his words got him unwanted attention he would just strike them down. "You know who my sister is, what you may not know is her husband, Vulpesen has been my leader in the Vitae Alliance. First with her, treating me as some child who had no power and then him. I got sick of the treatment, this is an unjust Galaxy filled with vile things and though I believe a lot of that comes from the Sith, the Sith are the only ones actually going out there and fighting. It doesn't matter to me if someone labels themself good or evil, jedi or sith, the unjust will meet the tip of my sword and be brought down and if I must become a Sith to do that, then so be it, but the Dark Lord made me a Sith Lord and since meeting you a month ago it has been nothing, but opposition. It seems I have no idea what it means to be a Sith."

She listened to his words, all the while the tendrils of confusion embraced him. She now recalled the untimely demise of his sister, pain was also another powerful motivator. When the male stopped, the gears in her mind began to turn. He was seeking guidance. But was he worthy enough for her to take him under her black and tattered wings and teach him the ways of the Sith? He had shown bravery. He had promise. And most of all, he had the desire to learn.
"A little, lost nerf among a pack of hungry Rancors," she spoke clasping her hands behind her back.
"You wish to be a Sith more than just in name. You want to learn our ways...learn knowledge or take it by force....gain power over your enemies while maintaining the wisdom to hold onto it."
She turned her head to the left, staring out into the darkness. Internally she debated with herself whether she should help him or simply leave him to fall at the hands of an upstart Sith. But that was not her way. It was not the True Sith way.
"Do you know why the Sith Order loses time and time again to the Jedi," she said without turning to look at him. "Because we spend more time killing each other....under the guise of the 'weak are made to serve the strong or die for their shortcomings'...than we spend time fighting them. Strength begins with proper teachings. Strength begins with patience. Strength begins with encouraging the weak to grow rather than killing them."
She turned her head to look at him. "And I will help you become strong. Tell me...what do you think you know of emotions?"

Valdra listened to her words and found he had no disagreeance. Good and evil was not black and white, but more about perspective. The Jedi saw themselves as good and the Sith as evil, but her words made it seem that was how the Sith saw the Jedi. The Sith waged war, but not all war was bad, sometimes it was unavoidable. Valdra wasn't evil, he didn't want to kill simply to kill or hurt just to lord over something. He would punish, but only to help someone grow. His dream was to end it all, but first he had to wage war and maybe, just maybe, with his leadership he could end senseless violence in the Sith Order and stop the killing from within.

He looked out onto the landscape with her, but answered her question, "Emotions are a two edged sword. Love can make life woth living, give you purpose and direction, but lost love can make someone fight recklessly or act rash. Anger can give you the fire to fight, but uncontrolled anger can make you blind and so on. Emotions can be an ally or an enemy, but the Jedi are wrong that they only serve as an enemy." As he was talking he had drawn his large double edged sword and was motioning to it's blade to show what he was saying.

"For so long the Sith have been seen as the villains, the evil ones, but the original Sith were nothing more then visionaries who wanted to study the whole Force and weren't content sitting around letting the Galaxy fall into Chaos. Too much ambition leads us to greed and pride and thus killing each other, but just the right amount can lead us to fight as one, an unstoppable force. As for your hungry rancors, whether I fit in or not, if they try to take a bite of me I will let them taste my sword instead. I may not believe in senseless killing, but I also don't believe I dying just because someone has a problem with me."

The Dagobah Sith flashed him a smile.
"Emotions are everything," she hissed. She knew of hate. She knew of anger. She was all to familiar with pain. But love. That was something new to her. She had fallen in love with a female Twi'lek. But not just any female Tw'lek, but a Jedi Master. [member="Seraphina Shel'tah"]. The Sith Lady knew the dangers of such a relationship but did she care? Her answer, let any that thought she was a traitor fall upon her blade. Love was another motivator for her. She would strike down anyone, including the Dark Lord himself, if she believed her beloved was in harm.
"Emotions do not define a Sith....but only give them purpose. A cause. A goal.," she preached. "But you are right....uncontrolled and unmanaged it will be your ruin. Hate...anger...love....misery....suffering are fuel to fan the flames of who you are to be. This much you and I agree upon."
She withdrew her lightsaber with her left hand, thumbed the activation stud and waved the blade from her right to her left.
"This weapon....your weapon," she glared as her eyes fell on the metal cylinder on his waist, "Is moot. Sith...Jedi...all believe in this man made creation. Only do they realize...in the end...how wrong they are. Do you wish to learn to....hmmm....eliminate your enemies without drawing this weapon?"

Valdra felt it, uneasyness or something like it. He had mastered his sense and in turn empathy and something he had mentioned struck her deeply, but he dare not dig deeper with someone he just met. He knew all these emotions, but the one he knew the most was loss. His family was dead, except Nicole, but she had vanished. He looked at her lightsaber and followed her eyes to a metal cylinder on his belt and wondered why she was referring to a water bottle as a weapon, for he wore no lightsaber. His weapons consisted of two guns and a large sword that he wielded just like one would wield a katana and yet, due to mastery of Vaapad, he could move as fast and even faster than someone with a lightsaber.

He leveled his blade, "A lightsaber, while the symbol of the force user, I have given up. A sword does not heal a wound upon cutting, so it teaches restraint. While Sith seek power, it is my belief that unchecked power corrupts and turns on it's holder. Using such a dangerous blade makes me very aware of my actions and if I must take a life then I will not be the healer as well, I will accept my actions fully with a blade. As to killing without drawing, what are you proposing?" Valdra could think of many ways to kill with drawing a weapon, without the Force, with his bare hands or even using manipulation to have the person kill themself. Something told him her mind was on something else than he was thinking.
