Figures in the Sand

Valae had a seat off to the side of the cockpit, and she watched the scene unfolding around her. She heard two of the others speaking an unfamiliar language. Valae was very curious as to what the meaning was, but it looked to be a private exchange between Nikola and Julius, so she stayed quiet. The padawan removed her rucksack from her back and clutched it gently on her lap as the ship took to the sky. Valae had never been the sort that enjoyed flying before, but recent journeys were starting to change her perception. It was quite fun to venture off to faraway worlds. It was just a matter of finding out what was waiting for them when they arrived…

Her attention was drawn back to reality when Dovan moved to the co-pilot’s chair and took to the controls. Briefly she recalled the only time she had seen him fly, she had watched his ship rise from the surface of Tatooine and disappear into the veil of space. Now she was here with him again, and the thought brought a smile to her face. As she continued to watch Dovan, Valae noticed that he looked very much at home, his love for flying was clear as day. He seemed to be working well with Kira; both looked quite comfortable with the task at hand. Valae watched as the stars began to blur around them, the ship taking the jump into hyperspace. She didn’t know if she would ever get used to that sight.

Her brows rose as Kira turned to address them, and she turned to Master Whitelight. Valae knew little about why they were here, except for the fact that the rescue mission was relatively close to Coalition space. She had guessed that she and Master Whitelight were present as a gesture of goodwill, as the Silver Sanctum had friendly relations with the Galactic Alliance. It was always nice to have a healer around, and if this was a rescue mission, her skills could be put to good use. Valae was only here to learn and gain experience, as she had little to offer in the way of Jedi skills just yet.

She watched and waited, wondering if perhaps it was too early to enjoy a bag of snacks…

A grin flashed briefly across his face as both [member="Julius Sedaire"] and [member="Kira Vaal"] responded in kind, the three of them seeming to share that one similarity, at least. For now he focused solely on the former, head cocking slightly to one side. "Min? Oblivyn." That was largely true. Curiosity was what drove him, and nothing more. His gaze remained steadily on the other man for another few moments, as if deciding how much to reveal about who he was, before he finally spoke, "My sister told me about you." Nikola left it at that for a moment, his focus seeming to flit elsewhere for a brief few seconds as he collected his thoughts. "Figured I'd just say hi. You know, common courtesy and all that."

When the name of the only real Master among them was mentioned he spun around in his chair, cobalt gaze instantly honing in on the Zeltron woman. "Yeah, it'd be nice to know more about what's going on so this isn't a complete wild bantha chase."
