"Yeah I know. This isn't good." Hawk sat down on the ground to mediate for a moment. He hope to get a glimpse of the future. His breathing slow down. He was able to enter a state of serenity. The images swirled around him. Different pieces of puzzle. Hawk saw a duel with saber. He couldn't tell if it was the future or the past.

On the balcony, Prana turns to Nate. "You will fight them." He tell Nate. "I know your past. I know you were once a Jedi Master. You have fallen." Nate shook his head. "No I won't fight unless we make a deal."

Prana smiled. "I'm listening." Nate knew he couldn't save his son and Kay. "I fight..the children go free." Prana laughs. "No. The deal is one child can go free. You may choose that child." Nate thinks for a moment. He had to save Maddie. "All right it's a deal."

Kay didn't like this. At all. When was it going to end? When they were all dead? What about food? What about water? What about sleep? All of them were necessary, yet she doubted that Prana thought of such things. All that he cared about was credits.

She sat down with the children and tried to console them. A couple of the youngest were crying. "I know that it's scary. It's scary for us too. But we'll get through this. Soon they'll run out of monsters. They'll get bored. We'll find a way to break free."

Prana agreed to Nate's term to be his warrior. Nate hoped that he wouldn't regret this decision. Prana relayed the message to the announcer.

"KING PRANA HAS CHOSEN HIS WARRIOR, NATE SOLO. IT WILL BE AN EPIC BATTLE BETWEEN FATHER VS SON AND DAUGHTER IN LAW. BATTLE WILL BEGIN IN TWENTY MINUTES."

Hawk came out of his mediation when he heard his father named. It was the comment about daughter in law that made him burst out laughing. "They think we are married." It was funny to him. He brushes the dirt off his legs as he goes to Kay and the kids. "We might have hand to play still." He leans in and whispers in her ear. "I wonder if the crowd would turn on Prana if they thought that you were pregnant?"

Kay's jaw just dropped as she heard the announcement. Was this all part of Nate's plan? As Hawk approached them laughing about the whole marriage thing, she had hoped that he was having a boost of confidence as well.

Her brow raised as he whispered his idea. She didn't look pregnant, did she? Kay whispered back. "How in the Force would they know that? It would be nice if they turned on him, but if they are willing to bet on younglings dying, what makes you think that putting a pregnant lady in danger would upset them?" In her mind, the gambling audience could care less about their fates. They just wanted to have their pockets lined with credits.

Kay might be right why would they care about a pregnant woman. They seem willing to slaughter younglings. The trouble was the crowd hadn't seen any of the kids die in battle yet. Hawk wasn't about to let that happen. Not on his watch.

Two guards and Nate enter the area. Nate points to Maddie. "That girl. The blonde with the pink bow," Maddie clung to Kay. Daddy wouldn't let them taking her away. "Take her."

Hawk moves in front of Kay and the kids. "Over my dead body."

TRUST ME SON. Nate said in Hawk's mind. Hawk frowns and eyes narrow. He wasn't sure he could trust me

Kay watched as Nate and the guards showed up. She wrapped her arms around Maddie, especially as Hawk stepped in between them. "What's going on? Why do you want to take her away? Where would she be going?" All of these questions needed to be answered. She looked to Nate, wondering if this was a part of his plan. Getting forced to fight monsters wasn't a part of hers. Getting the kids out safely was.

"King Prana has granted her mercy. She being released." Says Nate. Hawk grits his teeth. "Release where? Where will she go? " Nate sighs. "She will be release to her next of kin." HAWK TRUST ME. SHE WILL WITH MOM. He told Hawk in his mind.

Maddie trembles. "No. I don't want to go with them. I wanna stay here".

"5 minutes until the battle begin." Says announcer.

Kay couldn't hear Nate speak in Hawk's head, but the look in his eyes told her that this was all part of his new plan. "Hawk....as much as I hate to say it, we should let her go. Who knows whether or not Prana will be merciful again..." She knew that he wouldn't like it, but she had to try to make him believe.

Time was ticking...

He hated when Kay was right. "Ok." He turn and kneels down to Maddie. "Princess. You will have to be brave. I need you to go with them. I couldn't bear it if anything happen to you." Hawk says trying not to cry. Maddie lets go of Kay and goes to her Daddy. She hugs him tight. "I'm afraid." She says to him. "I know sweetie. I am too..we both have to be brave and trust in the force." She hugs him tighter. "I love you Daddy." She says through her tears. "I love you too. Now go. I will be with you." Hawk promises.

Maddie reluctancly releases her hold. She waves goodbye to her friends and goes toward Nate. Nate takes her hand and walks her out of the area. One of Nate's people was there to escort her to Sabrina. "This is Sarah. She will take you to grandma." Maddie looks at Nate. Her eyes red from crying. "Ok Grandpa. Please don't kill my daddy."

Nate sighs and walks away. He couldn't promise her that.

Kay swallowed a lump in her throat as she watched the scene unfold. She had to be brave too, for the other kids. Each one was wondering when it would be their turn to go home. She held onto the hands of a couple of them.

As Nate returned she had a bad feeling. This wasn't going to be good. There had to be some way for them all to get out of there. "What now...?"

"The battle will begin in few minutes." The announcement comes over the PA. The crowd had been quiet watching the heartbreaking scene between a father and a daughter.

Hawk took a deep breath to tried to call his feeling. He stood. "I've have no idea. It's a battle to the death. Someone has to die." He was going to have kill Nate or be killed.

Nate walked back into the area.. They had to give King Prana want he wanted. He wanted someone to die. The guess was who? At least Nate didn't have to worry about Maddie being harmed. He didn't care about the other children. Might be able to use them to stir sympathy among the crowds.

Someone had to die? No. She didn't want anyone to die. This just wasn't fair. Kay grabbed a hold of Hawk's arm as Nate returned to the arena. She whispered to him, "What if we fake the death? You could pretend and when they cart you away, you could attack them."

"I don't think that will look. What if they check?" He knew about slowing down his body function but not enough to fool a doctor. "We will only get one chance at that. They won't be fooled a second time."

It was time. Nate walked to the center of the area.

"TIME HAS COME AT LAST. THE GREATEST BATTLE YOU WILL EVER SEEN. THREE PEOPLE BATTLING...NOT WITH WITH HANDS OR FORCE POWER BUT THEIR LIGHTSABER.

Hawk blinks. Had he heard correctly. They were going to be allow lightsabers. This was game changer. Nate toss them their sabers. Hawk grins lopsided when he caught his own blade. He ignites it brilliant blue blade.

The crowd ohhh and ahhhh. This was going to so good. The excitement was palpable.

Kay frowned. Hawk was right. They only had one chance, but what else were they to do? The announcement interrupted her thinking. He might have been excited about fighting with lightsabers, but she wasn't.

She caught her lightsaber and kept it shut off, but at the ready. Kay looked to the kids. "You all have to keep back. Try not to worry...It's all just.....part of the show." She tightened and then loosened her grip on her lightsaber. Oh she was not looking forward to this duel at all. Her eyes drifted towards Nate as she tried to figure out his plan....

Let's play capture the King. Follow our lead Kay. Hawk duel number 15. Nate says in the force to Hawk and Kay. Hawk nods his head to Nate indicating that he remember the steps to that duel. When Nate was Hawk's master to make things interesting, they made up choreography duel like one would do in a dance, It was Nate way to teach his dancing loving son how to duel.

The men circled around each. Cross sabers from time to time. With each move they were slowly moving toward the King's balcony. The crowd gasp when Nate slashed at Hawk's feet causing Hawk to force flip over Nate's head and lands behind. Nate was barely able to turn in time to stop Hawk from slashing his back. "Very good. Almost had me there son." Nate comments to Hawk through their crossed blades.

The King, the guards, and the crowds were totally engrossed watching the two men duel that they forgot all about Kay. Nate sweeps Hawk feels. Hawk lands on his backside taken by surprised. He had forgot that step. Nate points his blade at Hawk chest. "Kill him" yelled the King.

Nate winks at Kay to make her move now while the king was focus on them.

Now she heard his voice inside of her head. It was strange, something that she wasn't quite used to. But it wasn't unwelcomed. She gave the tiniest of nods that she understood, and then spoke quietly to the children. "Keep watch on them, try not to move much. We want everyone to keep their focus on the two fighters."

Using the trees and other things like the bodies of the Rancor and others to use as hiding spaces, Kay slowly began her way to the spectator's box. She didn't move quickly, as that would draw in their attention to her, and she needed it to be focused on them. As she waited for Nate's signal, she focused on the Force. Hawk had taught her how to have it aid her in a jump and as soon as the signal was given, she thrust herself high into the air and landed right in front of King Prana with the dangerous end of her lightsaber hilt at his neck. "This ends now.....All I need to do is release the button. Call it a dead man's switch if you will. I BET you didn't see this coming...." She used the word 'bet' on purpose. Her eyes narrowed as she waited to see what he would do.

King Prana was taken by surprised. It never occurred to him that Nate would betray him. He swallows as he looks to his guards. They were useless. They didn't know what to do.


The announcer saw what was going on with Kay and the King. "MORE DRAMA FOLKS...A JEDI VS OUR KING. WHAT SHOULD THE JEDI DO?" Once the attention was focus elsewhere Nate extended a hand and helped Hawk off the ground. They motion the kids to come to them.

Some people in the crowds yelled Die Jedi Die. Some were yelling the king to die. King gritted his teeth. His own people were turning against him. They would pay for their foolish. "You win this time Jedi. You may go free and take the brats with you."

She heard the announcer, yet didn't move. She heard King Prana, but didn't move. Kay merely just narrowed her eyes, keeping her lightsaber at his throat. "Oh no, I don't believe you. There's an ace up your sleeve somewhere...So you're coming with us. And the moment that we are all safe...THEN I'll let you go." She leaned in closer, trying her best to make him feel fear. "But only if you behave..." Kay felt in control and that made her feel empowered.

"How do I know that you will keep your word, Jedi?" King Prana said trying not to let Kay see the fear on his face. He was very much afraid of Jedi, Sith, and any other force user.

The kids came to Hawk. They huddle close to him. Nate grins. Kay seems to have everything under control. "Time to go." He called up to Kay.

REFORCEMENT WILL BE HERE IN MATTER OF MINUTES. Nate says in Kay's head.

"I always keep my word. I'm not a liar or a scummy nerfherder like yourself. So let's go..." She took a hold of his arm just as Nate passed along his message. "...Before your reinforcements arrive."

Kay took him out of the spectator's box, keeping a tight grip on him and her other hand keeping that saber at his throat.
