Fiery Pit of Hell (@Lady Kay) pm for invite

Thank the force. Something going their way. Just to think if they had gone through with Hawk's idea what would have happen. Hawk assisted the kids up the ladder. The kids moved quickly and quietly up the ladder. Hawk did a silent head count. They started with 10 kids. Now they have 9.

"Kay I only counted 9." He calls up to her. Did he miscount? He looks around . He hoped no one wandered off.

She raised a brow. Only nine? Kay turned and counted. He was right. There was eight plus Maddie. How could they have missed one?? "Are you sure that we had ten? Go and do a quick peek." Of course it would mean that he would have to go through the small tunnel again. Where could that little kid have gone. She looked to the others and they just shrugged their shoulders. Was it just a hallucination by the lot of them? They didn't need more delays.

"Ok. Frakking kid." He mutters to himself as get on his hands and knees again. He crawls back though the tunnel. He pauses every few seconds ..listening ..eyes darting around. He hears a faint whimpering. He follows the sound. It was a little girl. She looked to be 3 years old.

"Hi honey. We gotta go." The girl looked at him and shook her head. "Why not?" He asked. "Monsters!" He frowns. "I'll protect you from the monsters." They didn't have time for thIs. The girl thinks for second than reaches for Hawk. He was Maddie's daddy. Hawk crouches lower on the ground. "Get on my back. You get a piggy back ride." He felt her hands around his neck as he made his way back to the ladder. "Found her."

Kay breathed a sigh of relief. All of those minutes that Hawk was gone felt like an eternity. But at least they were both back safe. "Come on up."

She helped them once they reached the top of the ladder and then did another count. Still ten. Good. Kay got to her feet and then closed the hatch. "Listen up everyone. We have to move quickly and quietly. Follow me...."

She started heading out of the room that they were in, pausing just at the doorway to peer at what was on the other side. "Okay. Let's go." Kay led them down the corridor, moving quickly, yet slow enough for everyone to keep up. She didn't know yet whether or not they were on planet or in a ship. There was no way to tell at the moment.

The kids were happy to see that little Mimdy was ok. "Follow Kay. Be quiet." This leading the kids around was dangerous. They could all be killed. What the hell had he been thinking? It safer in their cell than all this sneaking around.

Shiver goes up his spine. Did Kay sense that? It was dark. Sinister. Familiar Almost like the time that killed Shaw.

She did feel it and it caused her body to stiffen. Kay looked to Hawk and stopped in her tracks. "We shouldn't go this way. There might be a dead end....Let's turn the other way."

This place was a maze and she was almost feeling as though they were being herded. Where was Nate?

[member="Lady Kay"]

"Yeah I think your right. There was a passage to out left back there. Let's take that." Hawk turned around taking the lead. He put his hand on the wall feeling it edges. His fingers tinged. The kids whispered to each other. They were scared, hungry and tired.

"Warm. It warm. Hot almost. A pipe burst above them raining down clean water. He tips his head back and takes a long drink. "Drink." He tells the kids. "Don't play in it."

---

Nate and King Prana had just sat down for supper when they received word that the force kids had escaped. The king was outraged. He had guests coming tomorrow for hunting season. The kids were the bait.

Kay urged the kids on quietly. What a messed up operation this had been. But they were led here blind. Neither of them knew where they were, so it was next to impossible to figure out how to escape.

She cupped some of the water in her hands and showed the kids, drinking from it. If she had had her satchel than she would of had food for them. But sadly, she didn't. So this would just have to do.

"Maybe we'll find a kitchen somewhere." Surely one of the doors was unlocked and would lead them to an exit. The fact that they saw no guards was a bit curious.It made her question whether or not this was just a dream.

[member="Lady Kay"]

"Maybe." They moved into a long corridor. It was big enough for them to walk side by side. "This is the strangest thing. I can swear I see starlight up ahead. It makes no sense."

They reached the opening to the large area. There was trees, grasses..it was full of life. He looks to the nighttime sky. He faintly sees the light blue of a shield. "I have a bad feeling about this."

No wonder the corridors lacked rooms and doors. It was night time? She urged the kids back. "This is an arena....If we step out there the doors might shut behind us and we'll be stuck out there with who knows what?....There could be another way out somewhere."

Kay looked to Hawk. Every way they could turn was dangerous. She was at a loss at trying to figure out which way had the least amount of danger. There just had to be some other way. She only needed to try to find it.

[member="Lady Kay"]

"Let's go back." He made a move to go back. A steel wall slams down behind them. "Can't go that way." He mutters. "Let's stop for the night." He says. "Maybe in daytime we can find an escape." He really didn't know what to do. The kids were falling asleep on their feet. They needed to rest.

---

The King was about to retire for the evening when word reached him that the area had been activated. He ordered the holocameras on. It took a few moments to find them. "Ahhhh good. Tomorrow should be good day." He tells Nate.

Nate had to keep his face blank of emotion there was Hawk, Kay and the children. They were trapped.

A chill went down her spine as the door shut behind them. She gave Hawk a worried look. "Alright. Let's go to the trees, it'll be safer."

She picked up one of the smaller kids and carried him. At least it was dry and airy. Kay made her way down to the tree line. Some of them were big enough to climb, but not big enough to sleep in. At least there was cover. Patches of grass was about the only bed that they could have. She found a big enough spot for the bunch them that at least gave them some protection and then sat down, letting the little boy nestle in her lap. "I know that everyone is tired and hungry. But we'll get some food soon. Rest now..."

Hawk walks behind Kay with the rest of the kids. Once everyone got settled, Hawk did a quick head count. All the kids were there. Hawk leans his head back against the tree trunk. A little boy tugs his arm. "Have to go bathroom Mr Hawk." Hawk sighs. "Use a brush." The boy nods his head. "Will you come with me?"

Hawk nods. "Yeah I'll come. Boys time to go the bathroom." The rest of boys went with Hawk.

"Be right back ladies". All four of them went into the woods a few yards.

Kay smirked a little as [member="Hawk Solo"] and the boys went off to the bushes. Some of the girls were looking at her. "Okay, you can go to if you need to, but at the opposite side."

She didn't need to go at all. Maybe it was the stress, the worry. Her eyes drifted upwards, noting the shielding that surrounded them. Guilt tried to take over, but it was silly. If they hadn't of gone, then the children could've been sold. No. This was better. At least Hawk was reunited with Maddie.

Hawk kept on eye on the boys while attending to call to Mother Nature. He was trying to think of ways to get them out of this. Situation looked bad. They were obviously in an enclosure more likely under surveillance. Finished he waited for the boys. "All right guys, time to go back."

"Mr. Hawk... Look what I found." One of the boy's said holding out his hands. Hawk looked in the boy's hand. "Berries? Did you eat any of these? Did any of you?" The boy holding the berry nodded. "Frak!" Cursed Hawk.

"These could be poisonous. KAY!" He yelled.

Hawk's frantic call got her to move one of the girls from her lap. She got to her feet and then hurried over. "What's the matter?" The sight of the berries and the other kids pointing to the boy near Hawk told her all that she needed to know.

"This is not going to be fun, but I need you to stick your finger down your throat. You need to throw them up just in case they make you sick. I know that you're hungry, but we'll find something better to eat, I promise." She took him to the side and then helped him make himself sick. Causing the gag reflex to activate a few times was all that it took for him to throw up what little was in his stomach. Kay wished that she had some water for him, but there was none to be had. Instead she just rubbed his back. "Good, very good. Come on now....let's go back and rest." She led him back to the girls and sat down against the tree.

This was going to be a long night. Kay closed her eyes while she could, frowning slightly. There had to be some way for their captors to let the children go. There had to be something that they could offer.

Hawk followed the kids and Kay back to their camp. "Ok new rule. No one is to eat anything unless Kay or I tell you." He says in his Dad voice. The kids nod and agree with him.

Hawk sat down. Maddie crawled into his lap. She was cold and tired. She snuggled against him and feel asleep. Hawk waited until the kids were asleep before talking quietly to Kay.

"This isn't going to end well for us." He had a feeling that some of them were going to die tomorrow. "It like they are playing with us. Testing us."

Kay just kept her eyes closed as she nodded. This was not what she had expected to happen. Tomorrow was indeed going to be a rough day. She spoke quietly. "Why do they do this? To sell Force users as slaves? Or just to bet on how long they live?"

[member="Lady Kay"]

"Yeah. I know. These kids aren't going to last if we have to fight." It broke his heart to say that. "Whatever happens tomorrow we stick together." He tells Kay. He closes his eyes to get some rest.

------
Hours later they were awoken by a man speaking over a pa. "Welcome to King Prana's area. Today,, you will a great battle between Jedi vs Rancors. Take your bets on who will survive, Representing the Jedi we have 2 Jedi knights and 10 younglings."

She nodded again in agreement. They all might not last. Kay curled up with the kids and drifted off to sleep.

Hours later, the PA caused her to jump. Kay's eyes opened wide as she looked to Hawk. Who needs tea to wake oneself when you could have Rancors. How many did they have to try to defeat?

She got to her feet, urging the kids to stay with Hawk while she stamped her feet like an upset child to a clearing. She looked around as she started to yell, "HOW COULD YOU PIT YOUNGLINGS AGAINST RANCORS?! ARE YOU THAT AFRAID OF THE YOUNGLINGS?! OR ARE YOU SO BAD AT BETTING THAT YOU HAVE TO STACK THE ODDS IN YOUR FAVOUR AND CHEAT YOUR CUSTOMERS?! ARE YOU REALLY THAT MUCH OF A COWARD, KING PRANA?!"

She stood there, waiting to see if her baiting would work.
