Fiercely determined

Tamith walked out of the back room of the Blade where her friend and mentor Olthogo the hutt resided. Whenever Tamith was on world she visited him and kept him abreast of what she was doing. She was independent but she still took jobs from him and considered him her closest ally. Her first officer Tek-Kek was on her ship the Empress with his droid R9. CJ was lost in some casino, Tamith always wondered if someday he would enter and never come out again. Asha was with Olthogo practicing her skills with speaking. The hutt did this as a favor to Tamith. Zekkis always disappear when they were on planet and Tamith didn’t care as long as his ass was on the ship when they left.

The cantina was nearly empty. She took her favorite booth with a clear view of the exits and nodded to the serving girl a scantily clad human named Ilina. It didn’t take her long and she was back with Tamith’s usual which she added to her tab. She sat like a conqueror, forward with her hands on her knees. Her bright red hair shone in the neon lights which danced about. Her hair was loose but un brushed. She had her jetpack strapped to her back and her force pike laying at her side. Her green scale armor was shined and a rancor’s tooth hung between her breasts.

Her eyes were a light green and had a fierce look. She surveyed her surroundings and once satisfied took a sniff of her drink to see if she smelled anything off. Detecting nothing she took a sip and sighed as a bit of tension released. She watched the door, she didn’t know how to describe it but she had a strange feeling like something was about to happen. She had learned to trust her gut.

@Ra'a'mah

This wasn't the first time on Nar Shadda for Ra, but it had been several years since she was here. The difference now she was a sith lord, that last time she was just learning about the Force. At that time her memory had been altered to make her think she was of an apprentice in level, since then, her memory had been restored and a different woman walked these streets.

She covered her Force signature to make it appear she was that apprentice level, Ra walked with the confidence of one that commanded power. It was an attitude that could not be hidden. Having wrapped up a meeting with a prospective client, Ra walked into one of the local cantinas on the planet.

Wearing her dark cloak, she looked like a business woman in her clothes even though they were all black. A combination of a neutral facial expression, her hair back in its braid and decided lack of a lightsaber at her hip, her only visible weapon was a blaster on her other hip. What you couldn't see where two short sabers up her sleeves, two boot knives and a spiked ball at the end of her braid. From behind you would see that last one, of course.

Walking all the way in, Ra glanced around and she noticed the spot she would normally pick already taken by another red head. Picking the second best spot in her opinion, Ra took a seat at the end of the bar near to where the other woman was sitting. The only spot she couldn't see was directly behind her and that was a refresher door.

Ordering a drink she knew as a twi'lek surprise, Ra waited for it to arrive. It'll be nice to have that sweet drink again.

The serving girl quickly made the drink for her and brought it back with a bow of her head. Tamith had a keen eye and had watched the woman enter. She saw the blaster at her hip and paid it little attention, most people carried a blaster of some sort. It was the ball at the end of her hair that intrigued her. It had never occured to Tamith to use her hair as a weapon. She held up three fingers in the air on her left hand and the serving girl nodded her understanding.

She spoke in broken basic and averted her eyes to not seem aggressive.

“Tamith want to see you…”

She gestured over to the booth to where Tamith was sitting watching her intently. The woman looked like someone who would speak to Olthogo but she had a hardness to her that had Tamith interested. She would pay the woman’s tab gladly in return for tales of battle.

Tamith waited to see what her decision would be. If she chose to ignore her or leave there was very little Tamith could do but she was hoping to at least be able to get a little out of her. This was Tamith’s spot, she liked being close to Olthogo, her mentor and probably her greatest friend.

@Ra'a'mah

The drink arrived and Ra went ahead and paid for it. Listening to what the serving woman said, she nodded and looked in the direction that was pointed out to her. Tamith sat in the prime location Ra had wanted.

"Thank you."

Taking her drink with her, Ra got up and walked over to the table. While her face remained neutral, her eyes showed her curiosity. She sensed no hostility from the other woman, but kept herself guarded along with her Force alignment. If Tamith could pick up on it, it would appear neutral and rather weak or untrained.

"Your friend informed me you wished to see me? I am Ra'a'mah Numare. Please just call me Ra."

She remained standing until an invitation might be extended to sit.

The serving girl took the credits and hurried off to continue her work. Tamith watched the woman rise and wondered if she was coming or going. When the woman approached her Tamith did not smile she just nodded.

When she introduced herself Tamith did not rize but she did lean forward and narrow her eyes. Finally she gestured beside her, usuring the woman to sit with her.

“Ra I am glad to meet you. I am Tamith-Kes of Dathomir. You carry yourself in a strange manner. Your appearance says you are business woman but the way you walk and the ball at the end of your hair paint me a different story.”

She waited for the woman to get settled before she continued.

“I hope to know you Ra, I am a warrior and I think you may be as well.”

@Ra'a'mah

An introduction and invitation to take a seat was given and Ra sat down with Tamith. The woman mentioned she carried herself one way and dressed another. She was good, better than most at making an observation about a person. Ra nodded at her words and took a second sip of her drink. Setting the glass down on the table, she understood what Tamith meant.

"Indeed I am. You are the first person to make notice of it so quickly. It is nice to meet you as well, Tamith-Kes."

When she finished, there would be a brief incline on her head and a small hint of respect in her eyes for the observation.

"Dathomir? Are you also a Night Sister?"

[member="Tamith-Kes"]

She was impressed that Tmith had noticed. The girl made it a point to be able to read those that might become foes. Tamith turned in her seat to face the woman better. She was young but not so young that she hadn’t seen her share of the world. This woman was interesting that was sure.

When she mentioned the Nightsisters Tamith’s face grew hot. They were known to her, on her homeworld they were legend come to life. Tamith remembered meeting one in her youth. Even then she was fearless and the witch had commended her for her bravery. Tamith did not understand the force, she had reasoned that it was all parlor tricks to demoralize and deceive one’s opponents, not tactics Tamith would ever employ. She had asked if Tamith was one as well. AS WELL, that meant one of two things, Ra was either a Nightsister or she knew one. Tamith would have to be careful how she approached this.

“I am indeed from Dathomir but I am no witch. My people were warriors and beast herders. Do you know a Nightsister? I have avoided going home for a long time because of the stories I have heard.”

@Ra'a'mah

When Ra asked about her being a Nightsister, she noticed the heat on her face. Even if Tamith didn't answer, that color was enough of one. The other woman was not one. The answer did come though and she appreciated the honesty of her.

Tamith then asked if she knew a Nightsister. The story was complicated and not one Ra wanted to go into detail with in a cantina, but she nodded before speaking and took a drink from her glass.

"Yes, I know a Nightsister. Nothing wrong with being a warrior or beast herder. In society, everybody has a place and your people have that going for them."

She said she had avoided going home because of stories she had heard.

"Not all stories should be believed though. Why do you fear going home?"

[member="Tamith-Kes"]

She was curious who this Nightsister was but Tamith decided it was best not to ask. The Nightsisters were feared and with fear came respect. There were some who feared Tamith, she knew well that fear could be used to build a name for ones self. This woman seemed hard and yet she was being polite. Tamith was brash but she wasn’t outright rude unless you got on her bad side.

“I have heard they have taken my world, there are stories of slaves. I am not fond of this and I want to liberate them but I believe I am ill prepared to make my mark. I am Tamith-Kes yes, I am strong and I will succeed but I know when it is best to retreat.”

Tamith tucked her hair behind one ear in an absent minded quirk. She was nervous and feeling vulnerable. Her frustration rose as she thought of her years as a slave. She would never live in bondage again but she had yet to learn the nature of the witches beyond legend. If they bled they could be killed.

“I am glad to know you are no Nightsister though if I am correct they only come from Dathomir and you do not have the look of my people.”

@Ra'a'mah

The words Tamith spoke about wanting to free the slaves, Ra could get behind. Even if she were sith, she did not approve of slavery and went out of her way when she could to free them. All of her servants that had stayed with her were former slaves. They either had nobody left to return to or it had been the only life they had ever known.

"You are wise to know this. So many people don't."

It was a compliment on the knowing when to retreat. In the past Ra had been one of them that didn't know when and now bore scars from those days. The woman were of about the same age, but Ra somehow felt she was the older of the two. More traveled, maybe not a harder life, but had been through more.

Tamith then said Ra didn't have the look of her people and she raised an eyebrow slightly. They both had pale skin and red hair. Though the other woman had green eyes and Ra's were a natural gold, there wasn't much difference.

Tamith was stubborn but she wasn’t stupid. She fought the battles she could win. If it came down to protecting the innocent she had been known to bite off more than she could chew. She watched the woman with curious eyes, this was their first meeting and there was still much to learn but Tamith was concerned with body language. The woman held herself confidently and she showed no aggression.

“Some lessons are never learned and some yet are permanent.”

Tamith studied her closely trying to peer into her as if she had an ability to do so. She was good at reading intent but she had a hard time judging character. She was easily lied to, it was usually her crew that pointed it out when she was being deceived. She expected Olthogo to lie, he was a hutt and a crime lord but when they spoke alone she trusted his advice.

“Do you have a ship? Are you staying on the moon or will you require passage. I pilot a YX-1980. Although I have an apartment here on the smuggler’s moon i generally stay on my ship. What business do you have? That is a great deal of questions… perhaps we should eat.”

@Ra'a'mah

"I agree totally, Tamith-Kes."

Taking the last of her drink, Ra set it down on the table and raised a single brow again. The other woman was looking at her closely, probably trying to get a read on her. Maybe her personality or her reason for being here. When the scrutiny ended, Tamith let out a string of questions that brought a touch of humor into Ra's eyes.

Answer with half a smile, she would be honest with her. It was better to be honest and have honor because at the end of the day, that was all you had. Unconventional for a sith for sure, but it was how Ra lived.

"Yes, I have a ship. I have no place on Nar Shadda nor require passage anywhere. Thank you for the offer."

She then asked about her business and here is where it might get tricky. Not wanting to deceive the woman, Ra went with a simple truth.

"I'm for the lack of a better word, a merchant, but not of goods. Instead more as a carrier of goods."

At the mention of food, her stomach let out an embarrassing growl and a touch of color showed up on her face.

"Dinner sounds good actually."

@Tamith-Kes

She had a feeling the woman would agree, she spoke the truth after all. She sat and listened to the woman’s answers. She was not skilled in the tongue but she had a way, a sense with words. A gut feeling which guided her to the truth, this was the force unknown to Tamith but ever present.

“You are welcome.”

Her answer to Tamith’s next question was veiled though Tamith could not fault her for not wanting to lay everything bare. It seemed they had much in common, Tamith was a freighter herself. She ferried goods and people to fund her efforts. She moved as she pleased across the stars but always found her way back here.

She had a guest for dinner, the crew often was busy tending to their own affairs and so Tamith often dined alone. She waved the serving girl over and she hurried over. Tamith glanced up at her and spoke slowly in well accented huttese, it was her second language.

“Meat, lots of meat and ale. Charge it to my account.”

@Ra'a'mah

Dinner and drink ordered for them both, it would give the two women a chance to converse. Tipping her head slightly, something Tamith said earlier interested her and Ra wanted to pursue that line of topic over that of herself.

"You said you are a warrior. What are you doing on Nar Shadda?"

There was more to Tamith that she wasn't fully telling Ra, but yet not deceiving her either. Same could be said for her though.

The drink arrived before the food and Ra picked up the glass to take a sip as she waited for the other woman to answer.
