DESCRIPTION
Ferrixian Forgeworks was a union of three separate minor corporations - Brakka Mineral Concern, the Vorc Scrap Guild, and the Perlemian Survey Authority - and a dozen other independent salvagers on Ferrix that were acquired by Aether Systems and united to form a larger conglomerate. Unified in the early 9th Century [ 900 - 905 ABY ] during the rapid expansion of the Mandalorian Empire and the waning days of the Diarchy War, the company was known for leveraging its individual specialties for the greater good of the Aether Systems Corporate Family. The Brakka Mineral Concern focused on mining operations and processing, while the Vorc Scrap Guild maintained salvage yards and stations that scoured the battlegrounds of the Diarchy War to recover and recycle usable components and industrial waste. Meanwhile, the Perlemian Survey Authority focused on exploring Wild Space and the Unknown Regions, surveying new Hyperspace Lanes and discovering untouched planets rich in mineral wealth.
As a subsidiary of Aether Systems, Ferrixian Forgeworks maintains an officially neutral corporate policy, preferring long-term commercial relationships over political entanglements. The company continues to maintain deep ties with its homeworld of Ferrix and heavily invests in the region, while ensuring that such investments and business conduct do not directly support piracy, organized crime, or organizations designated as terrorist groups by local authorities. Although profit-driven, Ferrixian Forgeworks generally avoids the exploitative reputation associated with some galactic megacorporations and invests heavily in worker safety, maintains long-term contracts with frontier communities, and frequently leaves behind functioning infrastructure after large extraction projects conclude.
RATIONALE
Ferrixian Forgeworks was established in the early 9th Century [ 900 - 905 ABY ] by the unification of the Brakka Mineral Concern, the Vorc Scrap Guild, and the Perlemian Survey Authority, along with a dozen other independent salvagers and operations on Ferrix after they were monetarily acquired by Aether Systems. The reasoning was to ensure that Aether Systems and its extensive web of Subsidiaries would have access to raw materials and industrial components without needing to negotiate or enter into contracts with other corporations that might seek to unfairly benefit at their expense. Its unification under Aether Systems also provided the means to further explore the Unknown Regions and Wild Space, secure untouched Stellar Systems, and open new Hyperspace Lanes in those regions.
