Description:
With the fall of the Sith Empire, and the spread of Stormtrooper Units into various other factions, the Avidon Oligarchy commissioned an Infantry Armor as a means to further distance themselves from the Sith Empire in a bid to prevent reprisals against the fledgling faction due to the systems previous alliance. The Fenrir class Infantry Armor was designed to provide a means of distancing the Avidon Oligarchy from the ancient Stormtrooper corps, whilst retaining the flexibility and notoriety as seen from the white shell of the Stormtroopers. With that in mind, the Fenrir class Infantry Armor was designed to ensure the safety and survivability of those personnel that don the armor.
Designed to provide for comfort in a myriad of climates and terrains, the armor is separated into four pieces. These pieces include a fibrous mesh body-glove for comfort, a padded jumpsuit meant to provide impact resistance from small falls, close quarters combat and blunt weapon strikes. The bulk of the armor is formed from a series of Durasteel plates and armor situated to ensure protection of the individuals extremities and vital organs. The fourth piece is the helmet itself, which is further separated into two pieces, the mask and head covering. An individual places the mask and goggles on first, with the helmet section providing a seal to ensure proper functioning of the breathing filters.
While the armor is designed to provide for comfort and survivability in both hot and cold climates, there is a limit to its use. Without additional equipment, the suit is only useful in terms of protection for a few hours. Likewise, while much of the armor plating is designed to provide protection to the arms, legs and vital organs, there are gaps between these plates which can easily be targeted, resulting in disabling an individual. While most glancing blows can easily be shaken off, direct strikes still have enough impact to knock back a soldier and severely weaken the plate.
