OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: Submit a nice invasion reward for the Outer Rim Coalition
  • Canon Link: /
  • Primary Source: x
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Cogmind
  • Affiliation: Outer Rim Coalition (x)
  • Model: Fell Octagram
  • Modularity: No
  • Production: Minor
  • Material: Bronzium, electronics, wiring, Hiridiu crystals, Kyber crystals.
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Force Pulse: Internal emitters keep the kyber crystals pitched in a resonance vibration. Somehow that causes a heartbeat effect, where the aura of the kyber crystals envelops its wearer in a steady cadence. Every time this occurs, the user's connection to the Force increases exponentially. A Force User will find themselves better at performing feats of strength, non-Forcers can become luckier, more durable, get better reflexes. That last one really depends on what kind of person the wearer is. It increases what is already there, it can't create something out of nothing.
  • Signal Enhancement: Hiridiu crystals have been integrated into the design. If the amulet is pressed against a comm device, or something similar, it will boost its signal. Need to break through a jamming field? This can get it done with some luck.
  • Transmission: Amulets in proximity to one another (think city-wide, not planetary by any means) can send and receive transmissions. These are end-to-end signals that get bounced between the Hiridiu crystals. Difficult to hack, slice or block, so it is a pretty secure way of communication.
Strengths:
  • Enhances the Force potential of the wearer.
  • Boosts comm signals.
  • Allows secure end-to-end transmissions between amulets.
  • Pretty wild aesthetics. Very spoopy. Much Force artifact appearance.
  • Kinda durable.
Weaknesses:
  • No identification options. This means that if the enemy manages to get their hands on an amulet? They can listen into the transmission happening in their near proximity. Better keep an eye on those amulets, eh?
  • This isn't a Force Artifact. Not indestructible whatsoever, so be careful with them.
  • The Force Enhancement happens in steady heartbeat pulses. That means you need to learn to time your actions. You try to do some awesome feat just when the wave settles? You will probably land on your face. Look, we don't do Alchemy, so this is as good as it gets, savvy?
DESCRIPTION
Daro only heard after the Rhen Var boogaloo that everyone and their mother had been hunting down those star-shaped jewelry.

He didn't mention he tossed one aside.

Would probably have raised some eyebrows. Especially since [member="Zef Halo"] and his fam had been part of the search. Apparently a Sith Lord managed to snatch it. Something about exploding Jedi, dimensional shifts and teleportation. Force chit. Who could keep that straight, eh? Anyway. He decided he could probably make something better. How hard could that be? The Fell Star had been made by some stuffy Jedi alchemy stuff. Not exactly known for their creativity, right?

From the get-go the design was set. Octagram. Because why use a six-point star shape, if you could go for eight. More was always better in his book. It counted for the amount of beers, so why not for the amount of star points?

Dropped some Hiridiu crystals in there, a few Kyber crystal shards, added it all together in a nice spooky aesthetic.

Since the Outer Rim Coalition always had trouble keeping their communication secure he also made sure the necklace could have some security communication. With... some caveats, but Daro was an engineer, not a miracle worker.

Anyway, that was that.

Who needs a Fell Star when you can have a Fell Octagram?
