Hello,

I moved this discussion away from the voting thread to avoid confusion about the topic.

If I am correct you are concerned about two things.

1. Admin decissions

Just my two cents, but an open faction vote would make a good tie breaker. Much better than anothing admin decision.

Could you point us to the admin decissions that you feel have treated you poorly? I am not aware of many admin decissions but I might have forgotten.

2. Your story on Echani is not given enough attention.

Don't mind me, though. I did just renounce Eshans membership in the Republic and remove your last available shipyard, rendering your fleet essentially inert.

I am sorry that you ended up with few writers involved.
I think I can come up with a few "why's" but naturally I am just guessing.

• The core of GR writers have written in plenty of threads where Rep populace protests or go their own way because of a writer story/plot. I think you simply launched your story in a time when folk are sorta tired of that type of stories in the Republic at the moment.
• You did not pre-plan anything with the faction. It is sometimes great to simply surprise folk with a story but in other times its best to give folk heads up and check if people are interested and/or have time to dedicate themselves to a story in advance.
• The faction staff had no idea about your plot either and have had little time to actually get into it or decide if we want to support the story for a greater arc or not. Its simply bad timing for us to be honest. The scale of your plot might have had a better chance of success if we had discussed it a bit more.
• The Republic is a light sided faction and while we have a huge line of eager writers wanting to write the demise of the Republic and portray it as corrupt and evil, they will have to take turns if we are going to stand a chance in participating in their stories. It has to do with RL of folks and is not a rule or anything. Unfortunately I think this will go for members and no-members alike.

Note 1 - above is not meant as "rules" or anything like that. Just food for thought. Everyone are free and do launch their stories as they see fit around the GR.


Note 2. As for shipyards and reasources. Yes, it is great to have shipyards and compnaies Role Playing within the Republic. But no faction (Minor or major) need a PC run company or approved location to support their fleet.

Again, it is awesome to have them around though and it is always more fun to have time to Role Play consequences of such things as you describe. Note however that we are far from the biggest faction around, the GA/OS/Mando have member bases that most likely can react on everything that goes on. The GR is is a faction struggling to keep up with an invasion, so from OOC point of view one has to be more patient and understanding that things take time when trying to launch something faction wide in the GR.

[member="Janira Fenni"] - I too confess to not have had the time to truly read your story atm. (I am afraid that packing/planning for family vaccation on my free time and settling everything in time for my work pulling me away from IC threads).
But do you wish to be removed as junior senator from Eshan? Just asking to keep the roster in order ^_^

As for point 1: I'm not speaking about anything in particular. Just in the past a lot of decisions have been made by admin staff without the input of the faction base, which caused a lot of people to be upset. Having the whole faction vote as a tie breaker in this case just seems prudent.

As for point 2: I was largely speaking from an IC perspective. What you have stated is largely OOC perspective. At least in regards to the shipyards. In regards to the ignoring, I meant that as both IC/OOC, and was specifically directing it at the fact that [member="Lady Kay"] decided to just shrug off Eshan leaving the Republic. Alderaan has also thrown off the Republic's people as well. From an IC standpoint, how can you justify shrugging off two major worlds leaving the Republic?

I want to take this very serious, but to do that I need a pointer. what decisions have we made that upset people to such a degree?
there are lots of assumptions floating around. I cant help but suspect that this is part of the OOC build up against the faction and sometimes those who are staff in the republic. But really, I may of course be wrong. Show the decisions that upset people and it would help if you got the people that are upset in here as well just so I understand what we are talking about.
Note however, with the huge member base of the GR, I try to first and foremost see to the writers that focus on the faction outline and not its iminent destruction. that said, I and the staff are wide open for criticism.

Worlds dont leave a major faction because of single writers wanting it to happen. Worlds leave factions because they are lost in invasions or if a "reduction" is called for.
I am not shrugging it off. But as I stated above. We are running thin on writers to answer to everything hopping about in the "we want the republic to fail bubble."
My guess is simply that folks are tired of that type of plots.

While I could write a post where the majority of the Eshani people turn on their queen and chop her up because they hate her for leaving the republic I dont for three reasons.
1. to give you the opportunity to write your story. You claim to be doing it with a plan in mind and I hate to interrupt a good story.
2. No one would care.
3. I am short of time. I am going on a longer LOA shortly and a bit RL busy - but If the story is still active when I return it might change and I can join your thread.

For whatever reasons other writers don't hop on board is up to them. I have written several threads that were ignored. some that I really hoped would show the republics good side. They were ignored as well and no one paid any attention to any ic consequences of it.

I understand your concern better now.
I dont think its being shrugged off. But I think I am right when I say that people are a bit tired of that sort of plots. It feels like a single writer 8 or an outsider group) keep writing that the republic is evil and dumb and it gets tiresome to react to. Note that I am not saying your plot is poor, its just that the timing is poor. GR writers are sick of being called corrupt and evil despite what they do to appear otherwise.

I'll make a note about Echani not being availible for a new senator unless some Pre-RP is played out where Echani re-enters the republic ICly.
Its the best I can do for now. Hows that?

Lots of evil actions have been committed in the name of the Republic and most of the board views the Republic negatively. That doesn't happen without cause. I'm planning for the Republics final downfall and the eventual rise of the New Republic in its wake. That's what all of this is about.

I wish you the best of luck. But is it not better to create a new faction then. In the long run I am pretty sure your goal to "destroy the Gr from within" will only rouse OOC drama. A faction is meant for folks who enjoy writing in it, its opponents found outside of it. At least for the most part. (Yes, I know lot of GR haters are in the member base but still).

Yeah, just let it go. I 'shrugged it off' as you put it because you acted as though the one planet and one company held the Republic together and without it we would be lost. But that's wrong. More planets join every week and planets get lost too. You wrote that you were prepared for a battle to fight for your planet. Well why would we have one? No one was attacked/killed/harmed. Unless you are holding the planet hostage and wanting to blow it up, we'd leave it be.

I feel sorry for Alexander as his role was taken away from him without him knowing. Just as Faith has lost hers due to her sister's actions.

Go forth and make your own faction as you wished. Make it big and wonderful. I don't want to argue just to argue. This matter is closed for me.

Alex was made aware beforehand. I tried to alert as many Echani as I could.

And no, I wasn't saying you'd fall apart without me, I was trying to stress that it WILL have an impact. It will. If Texas left the US it would have a huge impact. I did what I did militarily out of precaution. The GR has some loose cannons. As for planets leaving, they don't leave all the time. If they did, you should be more worried than you clearly are.
