Fear and Loathing on Geonosis

Geonosis
RA Tunnel Systems
HMG Post Delta

A pair of Marines sat manning the HMG as Max looked out over the portion of a large Geonosian plain that the small makeshift bunker allowed from behind a pair of dark sunglasses. They chatted in a muted tone as they observed their charge. His rifle was situated next to the bunker's mouth and a 8 gauge given to him by Oddball sat slung across his back. A heavy slug pistol sat snuggly in a holster on his outer thigh and a com link was situated slightly above his desert camouflaged armor on his right ear. After weeks of preparation it seemed like the inevitable was finally upon them. Signals had been sent through channels that had been gleaned from TU coms that indicated their forces were on the move.

The Rebels were waiting on the corporatists. They knew what it would mean to lose Geonosis, and what would happen if they were captured. Few planned on surrendering if the battle went sour.

Max certainly wouldn't.

He was distracted from his grim musings by a buzz in his ear.

"Sir there's a human female who just landed claiming to be a journalist. The Navy cleared her. Admiral requests you give her a bit of information, help get some truth out there before the battle. We have her in intake at the Foundry." One of his agents buzzed him.

"Roger. Hold her there until I arrive. Watch her." Max replied curtly before retrieving his rifle and heading towards the intake through the dimly lit tunnel system, passing various personnel as he did. With the fortifications set all that was left to do was wait, spending the calm before the storm chatting up a reporter about the Rebellion's side of things was a pretty productive way of killing said time. Corporate controlled media had been giving the revolution a bad name of late.

Holly was indeed at the Foundry waiting. She was very aware that she was being watched by at least two different military people. She used the term military people because she wasn't very knowledgeable of the battlefield. Holly had no formal battle training. Truthfully she was not a battlefield reporter but this story could launch her career. She was keen to get the details about what was going on in the galaxy. The galaxy needed some galactic news reporting that was not biased by different factions. All in good time.

For now though she had to focus on meeting [member="Maximilian Vinticus"] who she was told was in the intelligence department, or at least that is what her sources said. Holly was new to the reporting game so she still had a lot to learn.

She shifted her weight impatiently and eyed the people watching her. It was like they were worried she was going to run into the tunnels and try to blow them up! War made people tense.
