Born as one of the many middle children into a brood of 10, Fatine hails from old-money Ukatian nobility. Until recently, the life she lived was dictated by the narrowly defined patriarchal customs of her people; she was to attend finishing school, learn feminine crafts and conduct, then be married off to another noble lord from an ancient house.

Fatine wanted none of that. After her father's death, she shed the shackles of tradition and moved from her family's countryside manor to the Ukatian capital of Axilla and pursued her dream of becoming a stage actress.

APPEARANCE

Unlike some of her siblings who've taken after their father's pale complexion, Fatine borrows more from their mother's color palette. Do you know how long it takes to get the coils of her dark hair to be both perfectly defined and retain volume?

Her makeup style is dark without being broody, another subtle form of rebellion against Ukatian purity culture. Kohl and carefully applied layers of mascara highlight honey-brown eyes, and her lipstick is always a shade or two deeper than it probably should be for a maiden. She wears a blend of Ukatian and modern fashion, distinctly feminine, more gaudy and less revealing, but still the sort that would send her grandmother into a conniption fit.

PERSONALITY

Fatine is the utterly intentional opposite of what a proper Ukatian woman is supposed to be; she's loud, brazen, and opinionated. Centuries of modest behavior have come to an end in the way she flirts with any man who can hold her – sometimes fleeting – attention. Though bold, she's also still very sheltered to the harsher realities of the galaxy, and despite the mature, worldly impression that she tries to exude, hasn't even kissed anyone yet.
