"Settling in?"

Jax could see his father Darth Carnifex Darth Carnifex approaching a dark room flanked by what appeared to Sentinels. He approached at bed of a pregnant woman her large stomach suggested that she was ready to give birth very soon. Jax squinted realizing that it was his wife: Jairdain Ismet-Thio Jairdain Ismet-Thio . Despite being bounded and at the mercy of the Dark Lord. Jax could sense that she remained calm, defiant against the Sith Lord. But Jax could sense fear inside of Jair. It wasn’t for herself. Jair was the most selfless person Jax knew. However, when Jair placed her hand on her stomach, it was made apparent that she was worried for their son.

And now Jax was worried as well.

“Jair…..” Jax wanted to say but his mouth was shut tight. Lips stuck together as if they were stitched up. He wanted to reach out to her but his arms refused to move. He felt like he was trapped behind a window tied up and forced to watch the horror unfold.

"What matters is why you brought me here at all."

The image slowly became a bright white. Jax shut his eyes a wanted to scream out Jair’s name but instead his skin was greeted by a sudden cold. Jax opened his eyes the first thing he saw were thousands of bubbles surrounding him. Straps were wrapped around his burnt body as the bacta started to drain.

“Jair……” the bacta mask was removed from Jax’s mouth and bacta tube opened. Jax placed his feet on the metal ground shivering as the medical droid handed him a towel.

<Master Thio.> the droid said. <I apologize for disturbing your session. But you have a visitor.>

Jax wrapped his towel around him closing his eyes and sensing a familiar presence heading his way. A pissed off presence.

“Tell her I’m on my way,” Jax muttered as the medical droid exited the chamber.

Jax was once again beaten down and left for dead. However, the consequences was devastating with his wife and son taken by his father. “What have I done?” Jax muttered slowly slipping into his clothing.

Her stomach dropped. A deep concern overwhelmed Dreidi for hours, only growing stronger and rippling harder in the Force. Her mother was in deep danger. There was no question about that. Organising her students, Dreidi ensured that the temple would be fine in her absence since Dreidi had no clue what could have occurred or when she might be able to return. But she did know that her mother needed her and Dreidi was not going to lose another parent. Grabbing supplies and the necessary armour and equipment, Dreidi ensured that she was prepared to travel to days, possibly far longer depending on what had happened. First though, Dreidi needed answers and she knew exactly where to find them.

The reports had come in about the High Republic getting trapped by the Sith on a planet, it was clearly that event in which her mother suffered whatever fate that caused the ripples in the Force to Dreidi. The witch knew that she would be able to find her so-called step-father somewhere on Naboo. Dreidi was already gritting her teeth at the prospect of this since it was not something that Dreidi was keen on interacting with. Her emotions were high and she was not going to be self controlled as she had been more lately around Jax. But her mother was still heavily pregnant and Dreidi was furious that someone would allow Jairdain to get into a dangerous situation in that condition.

Landing on Naboo, Dreidi made short work in finding Jax's location. In a bacta tank, it seemed the fool had gotten himself nearly killed. Dreidi mused that this was a sign that he had not tried hard enough to save her mother. Since Dreidi would die before allowing her own son or partner to be captured. Perhaps that was the level of dedication that came from her parents. Something lacking in others, clearly. Dreidi stormed into the hospital, the presence she wielded was not one of a loved one, a concerned Jedi or just looking for answers. She was a furious witch. When the droid informed Dreidi that Jax would be on his way, she waved her hand and sent the droid crashing into the wall. There was no patience and there was no allowing Jax to be in control of the situation. She knew this was his fault, that he had done something he shouldn't have done once again. Last time it affected her personally, leaving a scar.

This time it was placing her only parent in considerable danger. Dreidi had far less tolerance over that.

Teleporting into the bacta tank room, Dreidi stared with a furious anger burning in her golden eyes. A stare that would cause mortals to crumble on the spot. "What did you fething do Jax Thio?!" Dreidi cursed loudly, there was no sympathy for his condition. There was no attempts to be calm or restraint with him. Dreidi was done with being nice and allowing herself and her family to ignore the repeated red flags that this man was throwing around.

Green ichor Magick swirled around her hands, interweaving her fingers, tempting Dreidi to blast him against the wall. Make him understand how badly he erred this time. "What happened to my mother?!" Dreidi demanded to know.

Jax barely put on his Jedi robes when he sensed a massive disturbance in the Force. His entire body shook to its very core what he was sensing wasn't Carnifex but worse..... a pissed off Dreidi. It's been a while since she and Jax had talked to each other. They had a complicated but stable relationship, Jax knew why she came, why she was angry. The medical droid being thrown against the wall smashing into pieces was nothing compared to pure malice that she displayed in her eyes. Jax didn't need to feel her anger, it was etched on her face. Shame came over Jax, he failed Dreidi, after telling her that he would be there for Jair, he allowed her to slip through his and to his own father no less. The father who took advantage of Jax's weakness and maimed Dreidi. She still bore that scar which Jax could tell was bothering her.

Now he was staring at her: No mercy in her eyes, no empathy for Jax. Not that he deserved it. He always found a way to frack things up but Jax can't spend time dwelling on what happened. All he can do was to form a plan but this time he couldn't shoulder the burden not anymore. If Jair was to be rescued, it'll be as a family. If Jax can calm Dreidi down.

"She's been kidnapped by Carnifex," Jax stated plainly staring directly into Dreidi's eyes. "The Sith set a trap for the High Republic at Moorja and by the time we figured it out, the Sith were all over us."

He paused ignoring the magick that flickered in Dreidi's hand. If she launched it at him, so be it. All Jax hoped was that Dreidi wouldn't hold the same hate for Jayna Ismet-Thio Jayna Ismet-Thio . Jax fully expected for Dreidi to despise him for the rest of her life but he hoped that she wouldn't hold that grudge to her half-sister due to her being related to Jax.

"Carnifex ambushed your mother, she called for me and I tried to rescue her." Jax took a deep breath. "I..... used a dark power that was my father's gift." Jax said. "I circumvented it though and used it without the darkness corrupting me. But it wasn't enough, Carnifex threatened to rip your half-brother from your mother's womb. I hesitated and he nearly killed me."

The Jedi Master paused again the tension between he and Dreidi was high. "I don't know where he took your mother," he said. "But I've been having dreams of Carnifex interrogating your mother while looking over your half-brother."

Jax blinked. "She's about to give birth very soon," Jax said. "I don't know when, but she's doing her best not to deliver the baby. We need to get to her out before it happens. Otherwise..... I don't know what Carnifex will do with the baby."

Dreidi did not calm down with the new information that Jax was providing her, it was only increasing her annoyance and anger. "Blinded by a trap from the Sith. Happens a lot to the Jedi." Dreidi mocked, clearly not impressed with this as the explanation. "Fact that my heavily pregnant mother was anywhere that close to Sith territory is crazy! She should know better than doing anything that risky, so I can only figure you encouraged her to go with you on that mission."

Carnifex once again. Jax's father and someone with clear interest in her mother and the child that she was carrying. Hearing that Jax used some dark power that he thought he had control over, that was the statement that sent Dreidi over the edge. Blasting the ground, Dreidi manipulated the ground into acting like quicksand, dragging Jax down. "You are a complete and utter FOOL!" Dreidi growled angrily as she stepped towards Jax. "Once again you thought that you could harness some Dark Side power as a JEDI no less and against CARNIFEX once again, and once again MY FAMILY suffers the consequences of YOUR actions!" Her voice began to shift, not only was she speaking but deeper, older voices were layered with her own.

"Jedi are constantly endangering my family. Be lucky that my mother loves you or there would be nothing by ash of you for this Jax Thio." Dreidi stated, invoking the full Nightmother aura and voice as Dreidi rejected the Jedi ways once and for all. She was a witch of Dathomir.

Breathing in deeply, "if you believe that you have control over any power that comes from Carnifex then you are far more idiotic than I once believed. I will be saving my mother," the ground attempted to swallow more of Jax's legs, pulling him further down. "Fact that you survived, my mother is captured and Carnifex is not dead should be all the proof of your failures in keeping my family safe."

"My father died rather than risk endangering our lives. It seems you are intent on killing us on some pursuit of power!" Dreidi had never compared Jax to Yuroic before and she never intended on doing so since it was always going to be completely unfair and very biased in how she saw her father. However, this incident threw away the final small measures of respect that Dreidi held towards Jax.

Dreidi stepped closer, she was no Jedi. This was a full witch of Dathomir, throwing away all Jedi ties she once held now. "You will not be the one to save my mother. I will be finding witches on Dathomir willing to help and I will ensure that her and her child get home safe. Get in my way, interfere with my plans or ever endanger my mother or siblings again."

"Let's just say you don't get a third time to prove yourself capable of being better." Snapping her fingers, the quicksand ground pushed Jax out and returned to the solid, normal surface it once was.
