The Force surged through her veins as a storm raging through the night, the power of the Dark Side an unrelenting force of nature that could only be matched by itself. In focusing the Dark Side within herself, the Sister sought to concentrate her emotions into a focused point of power, harnessing the visceral energies of devotion, fear, faith, passion and love. Such were the affections that she felt towards her Eternal Lord, the Sith’ari. His paternal presence had permeated the Sister’s being since her conception, filling her with the emotions which she would harness in his name to snuff the Light and to strike down the enemies of his perfect will.

In developing her burgeoning powers, the Sister had been separated from her peers to follow a separate track, owing to the fact that she had manifested an elemental affinity, in the form of the voltaic energies. While her skills with a lightsaber were still quite subpar, she had distinguished herself above her peers based solely on her gifts in harnessing the Force. However, her overseer had ordered her to focus her training towards the lightsaber arts in order to see to the development of her skills in that discipline.

With her disadvantages in physicality, she could not afford to let herself grow complacent.

And so, on her behalf, a date had been arranged; a training duel with an accomplished Acolyte of the Sith Order. While the Sister had no conception of her opponent, she had spent the last two days since receiving the date, preparing her mind and body for the occasion. In order to further test herself, the Sister had also placed herself under a limitation, in the form of a choker with a trace amount of Void Stone imbued into its construction. It was enough to slightly obstruct her ability to cast the Force, but she could still manifest her powers with great focus, which she hoped would ultimately serve to make her stronger. By that same token, due to the minute concentration of the material in her necklace, its effect on her opponent would be negligible.

And so, the Sister waited in sacred silence, meditating until she sensed the presence of a woman entering the dojo. Then, she picked up the choker and fastened it around her neck, before taking a deep breath as she stood to face her partner.

Alina had never been outright requested for a spar or duel with her peers before. It wasn't too surprising, given her unorthodox fighting style, but the request came as a surprise none the less. An acolyte, but one she didn't know. One that was also a third her size. She did what research she could on the First Sister First Sister , though it didn't lead to much. Just a picture of the woman that she would be fighting. She'd never fought someone so much smaller than herself, so it'd prove to be just as much of a learning experience for the blonde woman.

She stepped into the dojo, peering around suspiciously. There was a lot to this than just a simple duel. What was this planet she was on? It'd been.. Altered. There was nothing in the Empire that talked about what was going on here. It was something she'd have to look into, when she was finished with whatever this was. She didn't bother with the usual Sith robes this time, wearing just a simple set of pants and a tank top. Taozin amulet clear as day. She learned early on that she could never sense another, so why not make it so others couldn't sense her?

"I take it you're the one I'm supposed to fight?"

“I am.”

The response was simple, yet polite, her tone laced not with anger, but faith and passion, both of which were among the primary emotions that she harnessed in order to fuel her powers. As she spoke, her lightsaber came out, a miniaturized variant of the standard double-bladed model used by the strand-casts of the New Sith Order. Then, her features took on an intense, focused set as she settled into her stance, derived from a blend of Fast Style and Ataru, both of which were forms that were often utilized by diminutive Sith and Jedi lightsaber combatants.

“I am First Sister of the New Sith Order.” The Qilin said. “And you are Alina Tremiru, yes?”

From there, the diminutive Qilin activated both of the coruscating magenta blades of her lightsaber, taking extra care to ensure that they were set to a low power, to deliver what would amount to a painful sting or a minor to moderate burn upon impact. The Sith were brutal, but not stupid. Adepts being killed or severely maimed during training was an extreme waste of resources, especially since Force-sensitive strand-casts like herself were quite difficult to create.

“I look forward to fighting you, Alina.” She spoke, bright cyan eyes staring up at the woman in order to preemptively examine her stance. “May His Will Eclipse the Stars.”

As the words left her lips, the Sister worked to build the Force within herself, the Void Stone in her choker already creating a strong, though not unbreakable barrier against her will. All the while, set in her defensive stance, the electromancer waited for the blond-haired woman to make the first move.

New Sith Order? Alina's eyes narrowed distrustfully at that term. There was a lot on this world that didn't make sense. What Sith had gone out of their way to create a new order for themselves? Alina took up her own stance, which wasn't really a stance at all, igniting the red blade as she nodded to the question of her name. She said nothing, not wanting to deviate her focus from the smaller woman.

Saberplay was still a skill Alina was still not so good with. She hadn't had time to get a proper lesson in. Perhaps she should, if she got into more situations like this. Her eyes were studious, trying to figure out the best path forward to strike such a small target. Her usually powerful swings weren't precise enough, and stabbing downward was quite a difference. Though, perhaps that was the advantage. She should strike harder with bringing her blade down.

She took a breath, quickly realizing that the First Sister First Sister was waiting for her to make the first move. She was preparing herself, then? As Alina exhaled she reached out with the Force. The chaotic bond that she had with the Force came into effect as she did. The Force deadened around her, and she would push that towards the Sister to cut her off from the Force.

Sweat was already beginning to appear across the Sister’s pale brow as she built the Force up within herself, brute forcing her way past the impediment of the Void Stone in her choker with a vigorous effort that was already beginning to tax her stamina, though she was not completely exhausted by any means. The electromancer continued to channel energy within herself, until she suddenly felt the Force evaporate, dissipating like water under a burning sun. Her eyes went wide with confusion as she sought to channel it once more, and initially, she silently wondered if the artificer had placed more Void Stone in the choker than intended. She wasn’t exhausted yet, though training with the Void Stone almost always brought about enervation faster than without. In addition, the Void Stone could not simply eliminate the Force entirely, as she was sensing now…

It could only have come from her partner.

The Sister hissed in quiet frustration, but held her composure nonetheless. Even so, without the Force there was now almost no real equalizing factor between herself and an opponent that was more than three times her size, besides the blade in her hand and the horn on her forehead, which was so hard and sharp that it could be used as a weapon under a desperate circumstance. Nevertheless, if the woman wanted to, she could guarantee an immediate end the duel in seconds by simply bringing the diminutive Qilin to the ground, paying for the action with only a minor burn at most, since the Sister’s saber was not set to full power.

It would be a vulgar, but doubtlessly effective and efficient maneuver.

The Sister held her defensive stance, still waiting for her partner to make the first move.

Would she dare to do it?

Eyes narrowed on the First Sister First Sister as Alina waited for something, anything, to fight against what she was doing. Was the smaller woman unable to resist? Did that mean she wasn't actually that good with the Force? Or was there something else keeping her down? If the Sister had purposely crippled herself, what was the point of this training? The young blonde let out a breath, then let the power drop. She was here to learn, not win an easy fight.

In a way, just showing that she could cut the Qilin off from the Force was already a win.

"I take it you're waiting for me to start?" Stalling. Distracting. It's what she started to speak. She was still going over just how best to attack the shorter woman in the back of her mind, and rushing in seemed far too dangerous with so many unknowns. A soft grin formed after a moment, Alina lowering her form much like a snake coiling to strike. "They did always say it's important to be respectful to guests. So I appreciate it."

Finally she did move. No longer focused on cutting her opponent off from the Force she could instead focus inwardly. Alina sprang forward, her speed far above what a human's limit was. Matukai had given her much more strength than she'd expected, even if it was only for quick bursts. Enough of a burst for her to close the distance and bring her blade down in a flash of movement.
