Failed Mission

Coruscant, lower levels

Emilié had just finished her first mission as a Jedi, and she was no less than excited. She had always wanted to become a Jedi, ever since she met one on Tatooine. The Padawan had run ahead to get back to the ship after a successful mission, stopping some sort of illegal fighting ring of something or other. She hadn't yet got her own lightsaber and was planning to go out later on in the week to make her first lightsaber.

This mission wasn't particularly dangerous, though she had spent most of it at her master's side since she was only protected with her limited force skills, which were, to be honest, a lot more advanced than her lightsaber or unarmed combat would ever be. The force didn't rely on strength which was good for Emilié since she was quite small and scrawny anyway from her years as a slave.

Coruscant wasn't particularly safe in itself, but if people didn't know you were a Jedi, you could just blend in like another non-conspicuous individual. Though after stopping illegal activities locally, the news would spread fast that there were Jedi about, and it would only take a few intelligent individuals to weed them out.

When you watched people you noticed a lot of things. Perhaps you would notice minor details first, this person was a human, this one was a rodian. The next things you'd notice were their genders respectively, and then you might look to how they were dressed or what mannerisms they held to find out what sort of person they were.

Cylus couldn't help but think that this little girl walking along the street was special. He might not have, she looked human and was female. Her mannerisms didn't suggest very much out of the ordinary though he thought he could see some sort of excitement, common enough among the young. Instead, it was her actions that had tipped him off, not many people walked into well known fight clubs only to walk out unscatched and happy.

Which meant that this little girl was hiding something, either she was related to one of the fellows from the fight club, or she had some sort of protection in another form. Since children weren't commonly given weapons, that meant one thing. Jedi.

Cylus shifted through the crowd, his cloak hiding everything except his emotionless eyes and feet as he gradually followed the girl.

Emilié became uncertain, not recognising where she was. Coruscant was a big place for someone so small and it was easy to become lost. She slowed her pace to scan the area, she'd probably taken a wrong turn a moment ago. Great. Now she regretted running off ahead, though the other Jedi had attempted to stop her, it wouldn't stop her wayward actions.

It was dangerous to get lost, but the Padawan felt well protected. She could use the force at will and most importantly telepathy, a lifeline for help to other Jedi in the area.

The cloaked figure continued his hunt, his eyes never leaving his prey. He tried to reason whether fighting a child was right or wrong and ended up on the choice that he'd try to avoid harming her, just stunning.

It was unlikely if she'd be alone, however she likely couldn't sense his lack of emotion in a crowd, he had been near master Jedi who hadn't sensed his intents; A fair advantage to his condition. He reachd into his cloak, placing a gloved hand around his E-11.

Emilié suddenly turned and took a different way, retracing earlier steps. She walked down a rather lifeless and narrow street that she hoped would lead to the Docks. She walked slowly, all too trusting. This was her first time on Coruscant, and she wasn't keen on the climate here, since she was from Tatooine.

Once she realised where she was, she began to walk quicker, seeing the docks ahead.

Cylus watched as the girl became more and more lost and began to walk back along the path she'd taken. He bumped past a few individuals, getting right beside her...and then continueing to walk. He let her pass for a couple of steps before turning on his heel and slinging out the E-11.

The sleight of his hand send a blue bolt down the way and towards the girl's back, it was a stun bolt but it was still from a fairly powerful gun. Probably leave a good headache he thought as he heard a few people around him gasp and begin to scatter away from the sight of the gun's fire.
He had plans for this girl.

Emilié fell to the floor once the impact of the bolt had hit her, only managing to put her hands out to stop her head hitting the floor after the fall. She became confused and afraid, why would anyone attack her here?

The Padawan urged herself to get to her feet to see who the attacker was, but her body didn't respond as it was trying to recover from the shock.

Cylus gradually approached the downed girl, shaking his head once as he wondered what the various people watching would think of him. He found out a moment later when a rather large Rodian got into his face, yelling at him...bothering him.

It took a flick of the cloak to expose his mask, it was beginning to become known around these parts and the matching hat made the Rodian do a 180, trying to rush back into the crowd. Cylus let him, no need to waste ammo. He stepped over to the girl, looking down at her and her pitiful self.

The very slightest hint of guilt struck his mind as he raised the blaster and sent another stun bolt into her chest, she needed to become unconscious before he could continue with his plans.
"Everything is alright...sleep." He soothed calmly.

Emilié looked up at the figure leaning over her and squinted in attempt to recognise the man, but after no avail, she grew fearful and began the struggle to sit up. Before she'd even had a chance to say anything, ask who the man was, what he was doing or why he was doing it, another bolt was fired, rendering her unconscious.

Cylus nodded once, satisfied at his E-11 and it's stopping power. It had been a bit surprising to see such a young person remain awakened after the first bolt though, maybe it needed a bit of cleaning or something along those lines.

He shrugged and opened his comlink "This is Servant Jest, I require immediate transportation to the ship." He spoke into it.

"Right away, sir." Another rough voice sounded from the com, a few moments later a Lambda shuttle began to hover above the area where they were, not quite touching the ground for fear of threatening people.

Cylus hoisted the young girl over his shoulder, she was quite light...so young and feeble. He had plans though, plans that should they succeed would benefit them both.
It quick click of his boots activated the rockets and sent him upwards to the Lambda where an Undying trooper helped pull him aboard.

It took only a few moments for the ship's doors to rock close and for it to arch upwards towards atmosphere. He laid the girl down on a pair of chairs, not bothering with restraints.

It took several minutes before the Lambda docked with the Raven Class Frigate in orbit around Coruscant. A pair of Undying troopers removed the girl, taking her to one of the private rooms, it was not exactly a holding cell, but it still had only one way out and he locked the door with a code before he left, leaving her on a bed to recover.

The room was painted a bright grey and held a dresser, bed, and a personal closet. There also appeared to be a small chair and table set off to the side and a refresher past it.

Emilié woke up eventually, though still a little groggy from the attack. She rubbed her eyes and adjusted to the lighting before pushing herself into a sitting position, though not without difficulty. She looked around the room and took in all the surroundings, it all seemed nice enough, until she realised she wasn't supposed to be here.

"Where am I?" she asked quietly, though she doubted if anyone could hear her at the volume she was speaking. The Padawan had gathered enough energy to stand up, though not efficiently or steadily. She looked around before sitting back on the bed and wrapping her arms around herself. "Hello?" she called out a little louder.

Cylus stepped pressed the buttons on the keypad, a slight click as the door's locks released and he stepped inside. He could see the girl there, and thought that had he been normal he probably would have felt sorry for her, it wasn't good to be dragged away from your home. Unless you lived in the type of home he had, then it wouldn't matter either way.

He bowed his head slightly, flicking his hat off before returning it to it's position atop his head.
"Hello young one. I am Cylus Jest, you may have heard of me, and I have a proposition for you." He stopped the sentence there, he'd see how the girl responded before he continued.

Emilié moved further back on the bed, away from the man. Her eyes followed his every movement, probably not the most comforting thing for the other person. She listened to him speak and frowned slightly, having never heard of him before. The Padawan pulled her knees up to her chest in a sort of defensive position.

"What proposition? I want to go back to the Jedi..." she said, her voice trailing off.

Cylus Jest

Cylus began to walk back and forth along the room, his eyes remaining locked ahead of him at all times, no need to frighten the poor girl by staring directly back at her.
"I would like you to work with me. You see, I was born without any sort of morality and it has become increasingly difficult to make the galaxy a better place, which is why I picked you. You're young enough to have not been corrupted by the Jedi and their views, and I don't intend on making you some sort of dark-sider either. I simply want to make the universe a better place, and I require someone to both point me in the right direction, and to heed what I have learned."

He continued walking along the room, his head glancing curiously at the child
"What do you think?" He asked politely as he took a seat near the doorway, watching her.

Emilié unwrapped her arms from around herself and sat back on the bed, thinking. She was still afraid to be in a foreign place with people she didn't know, but was less so now knowing that there was little threat.

"It sounds interesting but- but the Jedi, I work with them and they know I'm missing." she said in a sort of hushed panic.

Cylus nodded once, a short little tilt of his head in acknowledgement of the point the girl had made. It was a good point, but irrelevant. The Jedi were too loose an organization to keep track of every little person.

"The Jedi do not really care for you, consider it statistically. How many Jedi are there? How many worlds are Jedi spread across? How many Jedi desert the order all the time, and no one goes searching for them."

He shook his head once as he stood back up again, hands clasped behind his back in a stereotypical officers pose.
"The Jedi will not search for you. What is your name?"
[member="Emilié Madowki"]

Emilié looked down and thought about it, the Jedi probably didn't care, especially not about her, merely a Padawan. She sighed and tried to accept that he was most likely right. She moved back over to the edge of the bed and hung her legs over the side.

"I'm Emilié Madowki. What is it you want me to do? Don't think you can get away with hurting me, I'm stronger than you think." she said in reference to the force.

Cylus simply watched her, cocking his head to the side as she said things about hurting her. That was a bit naive, why would he stun her and drag her all the way here to share his plans with her only to hurt her afterwards.

"First off, i'd like to teach you what I know of the galaxy, and i'd like you to be a second opinion to all of my ideas...if I can't explain something logically i'd like you to tell me so." He continued speaking in an almost friendly manner, after all this time of listening to people talk like this to children it was easy enough to imitate.

But he wouldn't be treating her just like some sort of child...she would be his prodigy, she'd be what he left behind to the galaxy in the eventful moment of his passing. Perhaps he was just being sentimental.

"So you're just going to keep me here?" she asked, standing up and putting her arms behind her back before slowly pacing the room. It was an awful lot to think about but since she had no friends or family to be persuaded by, she was left on her own.

"I suppose I could help, if you really need it..." Emilié said with a small smile. It sounded as though Cylus had good intentions, which was always comforting. She began to feel a little more at ease with the situation.

Cylus shook his head once before opening the doorway. "Of course not, if you're going to be with me then you'll need access to wherever I go."

Outside a pair of Undying troopers walked by, off to do work on the other parts of the vessel which prompted Cylus to add "Don't mind the ones who wear the same mask as I do, they have the same goals as myself."

He stepped out of the doorway, motioning towards it with his black gloved hand
"Please, join me Emilié or perhaps Emily for short."
