Kaili Talith
Forgotten, not gone.
“Do you give up?” The playful taunt called for Allyson after they had both hit the ground in a tackle. An arm wrapped around Allyson for Kaili to get her on her back. She wanted her to stare up at Kaili when she admitted her defeat proper. She had known the risk of challenging the blonde to a race like that, most people did by now and most people tended to avoid doing it as well for this reason alone. Kaili wasn’t known as someone who played fair in competitions, she wasn’t one to avoid using external means to ensure her own victory, but with Allyson things were different. She had after all thrown her now-girlfriend into a tree during their first date and while that was an amusing memory at this point there was no urge on Kaili’s behalf to ever relive it again.
Which wasn’t to say that there was any real desire to lose this particular race either.
This tackle had been done fair and square, a physical tackle without the aid of the force which in itself was Kaili’s way of making Allyson realize that, yes, she was doing this race on equaly grounds while at the same time, no, even Allyson was still bound to be a target for her cheats. Part of her suspected Allyson would be annoyed at it. Eyes glanced all over her partner’s face to check for damages and found nothing but specks of dirt from the fall. Then again, perhaps Allyson would have suspected or outright known this was going to happen.
Wandering eyes found the hazel eyes that she had fallen in love with. A short staggered breath parted Kaili’s lips as she entered near-trance and stared herself blind within the depths of Allyson’s soul. She was still the most beautiful person that Kaili had ever met. From the small scar on her cheek to the way her smile warmed up the entire room in a heartbeat. The blonde’s hair swayed in the wind before her as she towered over Allyson. Her elbows chafed against the hard ground yet a smile spread on her lips regardless. This had been such a long time coming now. The good times, the end of troubles or at the very least a pause between them. The mysterious intruder and the skirmish on Rutan, old news that were no longer relevant. Yesterday’s worries was kept in the past where they belonged while today’s experiences was already in the process of shaping the best memories Kaili had granted herself in months.
And all this because of the fact that she had Allyson around again. They had promised that for at least a few days they would be taking some time off for themselves to get away from the world and just have fun, like they used to. The SIS would simply have to wait before they put Allyson in low-cut outfits again and Kaili would have to let the company and the hyperlanes rest for a bit.
“I’ve missed this.” A faint whisper would part the blonde’s lips as she continued to simply stare down into Allyson with awe and wonder. “I’ve missed you. Us. This.”
Kaili remained in place. She couldn’t move now, not ever.
