It had been a while since Ara had seen Jasper. Ever since he took up his mission to fight in the Outer Rim, he was difficult to get a hold of. But all of that was about to change. She had a mission in the Outer Rim, as well as some orders to go see where she could help out. That last one was a stretch, but if she had to do another mission in Coruscant's Underworld she was going to commit an act of violence.

The shuttle received landing coordinates and elegantly descended into the atmosphere, calmly gliding along towards a landing bay at the temple. It looked... rough. It was hard to blame them, they were in Wild Space after all. They had to work with what they could get. But after their amazing expedition into Mon Cala and Lothal, they were sure to get an upgrade. Once the shuttle touched down, Ara adjusted her robes, tucked a strand of hair behind a horn and made her way to the boarding ramp. Compared to when they last saw each other, Ara looked different. More mature and settled compared to when she was just knighted. She was sure that he had changed as well.

Looking around, she calmly walked into the hangar with a smile as she watched all the activity. They had been doing very good for themselves.

"Took you long enough."

Jasper called down from the roof of a very familiar freighter, one which he had spent most of his padawan days living within. He was tinkering, mandatory repairs after the Lonestar-1 had sustained a little bit of damage upon their return. The Jedi Master finished up and stuffed his tools into his flight suit, jumping down and wandering over to his friend with his hands in his pockets. A slight grin spread across his face.

"You look shorter than the last time I saw you," he remarked.

He laughed a little, a more warm expression appearing.

"It's been too long," he stated. "That's probably on me, what with... well, everything. So, uh, my bad."

There technically was an excuse, given how much responsibility he on-boarded from the Jedi Council to here. Still, he did want to put in the effort to reconnect with his friends. It had frankly been far too long.

"Been doin' well?"

Ara glanced up at the voice with a grin forming as she made her way to Jasper's old freighter. It was good to see him keeping the old ship flying. "Yeah, right. Beard's looking good, though. Can't wait to see it on an adult." She fired right back at his remark as she folded her arms and shifted her weight to one leg.

Her arms came down as she stepped forward to embrace him tightly. "It's good to see you again, Jasper." She spoke after letting go, naturally giving him a light punch to the shoulder. "I've been doing good... mostly. Been busy in the core, mostly crime work. I would've brought Jalen along, but the Council asked me to come through alone first. Got some assignments that ain't meant for a paddie to do." There was a hint of hesitation in her voice, but she didn't dwell on it for long.

"Care to show me around? As awesome as hangin' around in the hangar would be, I do wanna see what you've been doin' here. Also, gotta fill you in on what's been going on." She gestured for them to walk before falling in beside Jasper. She glanced up at him for a second or two, a smile forming once more. "You look good, Jas." She remarked with a nod.

As they walked, Ara studied the temple with glimmering eyes. This was a mission she could get behind. For all of the training, expeditions and shenanigans, the rest of the galaxy was still suffering. The outer rim, however, would benefit from this presence of Jedi.

"So, work stuff first. Me and you can catch up later on what's been happening at home. Council asked me to come to you about a little mission they got for us. Apparently you guys' business on Lothal and Mon Cala opened up some gaps that allowed them to intercept some comms chatter. There was a mention of an outpost or something that belonged to the sith. They couldn't get much, so they asked us to go investigate. Also, they asked me to come see if you need any help with the place." She paused for a long moment, before finally giving a shrug and a tilt of her head.

"To be fair, that was more from my end. But nobody outright denied that, and if I had to do one more mission into Underworld, I'll chuck myself through the council chamber windows." She added with a smirk as she looked up at him.

Her arms came down as she stepped forward to embrace him tightly. "It's good to see you again, Jasper." She spoke after letting go, naturally giving him a light punch to the shoulder.

"Yeah," Jasper chuckled. "Likewise."

He stepped back from the embrace and turned to lead her into the Temple, gesturing for her to follow. He absorbed all the information with a thoughtful nod, crossing his arms as they walked.

"Well, it was nice of you to drop in. I'd say things have been... interesting," he shrugged. "We're making do with what we can out here, which is more than you'd expect. Some folks are comparing it to the birth of the Republic. Me personally, I'm just happy to be here helping out. The GA has been good to me... but her gaze struggles to see across her own territory. I'm happy to get the ball rolling out here."

Jasper tilted his head back.

"Sorry about the mess, by the way," the young Jedi Master continued. "The Temple is multi purpose right now. TAC command is centered here as well, at least until Lothal can be safely re-established. So, y'know, a bit cramped." Jasper let out a sigh before speaking again. "Tell me about this sith outpost?"

Ara looked up at Jasper with a warm smile as he spoke, it was good to hear the warmth in his words about this whole operation. She gave a light nod and waited for him to finish. "That's the same reason I wanted to come help you guys out. I've... I've been having some doubts around the Alliance's role when it comes to helping others. There's dozens of systems that need help. We can't call ourselves Jedi and not at least try to do something. I believe what you guys are doing is a good cause." She admitted.

"About the sith outpost... it's on Geonosis. I dunno if it sprung up after the Enclave's fall or if it somehow managed to stay hidden from 'em, but it's apparently underground. Other than that, your guess is as good as mine. That's why they want us to go investigate. Initial scans showed a promising lead of its location, but nothing concrete. There's tunnels and seismic activity that dates all the way back before the Clone Wars." She explained as she came to a halt to face Jasper.

"Temple archives were vague as hell about what's been happenin' on the planet. With everything going on in the galaxy and tensions with the Sith on the rise, you guys are closer to investigate." She looked around a bit more as a smile emerged again. "I dig the temple. Reminds me of Lothal in a way. If you want, we can use my shuttle, otherwise I'm wide open for a lift from you." She added as she looked back at Jasper.

If you want, we can use my shuttle, otherwise I'm wide open for a lift from you.

A soft grin spread across Jasper's face.

"I'll fly," he insisted. "Been meaning to get the Lonestar-1 a little more action."

He patted the side of the freighter before activating the lift ramp, gesturing for Ara to follow onto the vessel. As he boarded, his mind wandered with the potential that such an outpost could hold. No doubt it was Sith Order, given the proximity to their territory and the recent escalation of their war with the GA. As he moved to the cockpit and sat down a few hypotheticals ran through his mind.

"And underground facility could indicate local assistance," Jasper suggested with a frown. "The hives of Geonosis have sided with the Sith in the past. We may be facing a larger operation."

A nod of approval was given as Ara smirked at Jasper. They were both in the same boat when it came to piloting. Though he made it way too easy for Ara to find some jokes. "Lonestar's getting a bit old now, isn't she? You sure she's still safe to fly?" She remarked as she looked up at him.

Once they were settled in, Jasper speculated on the circumstances of the outpost. "The Geonosians have always been a volatile bunch. It wouldn't surprise me if the Sith made some friends over there. But what concerns me more are those tunnels. I managed to find old roadmaps of 'em, but that's old data. Could be completely outdated as far as we know. So we gotta be careful down there." She explained with a hand under her chin. "There's also that bit in the archives of undead Geonosians, but that's highly speculative. Apparently they were taken care of, but there's no telling what's been happening in those tunnels in the last thousand years." She continued with a glance at Jasper.

After a while, a grin took hold and Ara sat back with her legs tucked against her body. "So..." She began. "Gimme the scoop. What's been happening on your side? The wife and kids still good?" She joked with a very satisfied grin. They had a few hours to kill and he was now locked into this tub with her. There was no escape for him now.
