The F-16 is easily the best atmospheric aircraft the GA can field. It excels at denying enemy forces air support, and can even strafe ground targets. If equipped with bombs, it can become a fighter-bomber, since the majority of the aircraft's missiles are stored in its underbelly bay. As the F-16 cannot easily maneuver in space, its carrier must get close to the atmosphere to allow the aircraft safe passage to the skies below.
