No weapons were fired right away, that was a start. No one had made a move to attack her just yet either. By her standards, things were shaping up to be decent enough already. There was still a bit of explaining to do as to what exactly she was doing on his ship, how she'd found her way into the scrap in the first place, and who she was. That last part was always a bit of a hindrance. More often than not, revealing her identity as a Jedi - or rather, a former one - was tedious at best. The man might not have been one of the pirates, a dark sider or any other threat she could think of, but he still wasn't a friendly. Not yet, at least.
Taking a breath to steady herself Keira spoke, "Yeah, about all of this...I'm not exactly sure how I ended up here myself, to be honest. But it didn't seem like any of them," She gestured to open space where the pirates still remained, "Would welcome me near as warmly. I mean, I haven't been shot at yet." A pause. "I'm Keira. It's nice to meet you?" She phrased the last statement as a question, still unsure of how exactly their relationship would blossom.
And then another presence made itself known, this one vaguely similar to her own. Although aware of her Ticon heritage, she hadn't exactly made a conscious effort to reconnect with any family. But no one was to say this new individual, whoever they were, was even related to her.
Taking her saber in hand she made a gesture in the general direction of where she'd sensed the other presence. "I, uh...think we might have some more company."
