Valik

Professor of Alchemy
Since becoming part of the Levantine Sanctum Laekia had become quite the hotspot for trade in the galaxy. With no larger government pulling taxes and being a trade-focused world many corporations, AEL perhaps the largest, had put up shop on the world, using it's neutrality and economic background to make it a bastion for their companies. While many a smuggler, bounty hunter, and thief found the world to be ripe with opportunity it was, for the most part, a safer place in the galaxy. It seemed the Levantines had more bite than bark to their words of 'guardians'. While Valik was here to commit a 'crime' of sorts it wasn't the harmful drivel most spacers associated themselves with. Instead he was here to poach, to gather one of those magnificent Fireworms that were rumored to hide in the more volcanic sectors of the continent. Disguised as a simple spacer he made his way through the crowds, heading from the spaceport to more local transit. While many hunters had an eye only for their mark Valik kept his eyes and ears open, always on the lookout in case more interesting and valuable prey showed themselves along the way.

It was the day after they had returned to Laekia from another mission. Valeria had risen early and had decided to go down into the main town. She had some things she was wanting to purchase from the stores, and she had arranged to meet her Master later on in the park. He had another lesson for her, most likely.

And so, dressed in her usual outfit and with her lightsabre by her side she headed out into the city, not a care in the world.
Of course, since this would hardly be a thread worth writing if everything went to plan, soon bad things would happen! Probably.

Valik

Professor of Alchemy
Between Art of the Small and Sith Mask Valik would have appeared a normal spacer to most traveling by, with or without a sense in the Force as he headed through the planet's marketplace. It was, for the most part, an uneventful place for a person of his tastes. Well stocked with exotic clothes, foods, and weapons for average traveler but nothing which particularly held his interest. That was, until he managed to spot a young woman with a rather familiar looking cylinder attached to her hip. Lightsabers, while not exactly commonplace, had several origins, whether they come from the Jedi, Sith, or even just a bounty hunter who'd taken one of the former out. He never suspected a Sith would be so blatant, and she didn't have the air of a bounty hunter skilled enough to take down a Jedi or Sith. Of the 'easy' solutions the most probable was that she was a Jedi, a padawan if her age was any indication.

As much Fireworms were a fun target with loads of interesting propositions their retrieval was admittedly a side project. The ongoing acquisition of Force Users however? A constant priority. A young one alone, with no master in sight? Too big a catch to ignore. Putting on the most pathetic face he could manage he headed over and meekly tapped the woman's shoulder to get her attention.

"Excuse me, miss? I couldn't help but see your uhh . . . ' He said, motioning to the lightsaber, as if unable to say the name of the weapon. "And, well, are you a Jedi? I was having some trouble at the docks, I think this gang is trying to ambush me back at my ships. I tried talking to the local authorities but they're not willing to look into it. Could . . .could you help me out?"

Valeria was a teenager, she was a Padawan, and she was as naïve as a fledgling leaving the nest the first time…but she wasn’t stupid.
“That’s terrible, sir! I’ll be happy to help. Which dock did you say?” she asked. Pulling up her commlink she put a call to her Master [member="Thurion Heavenshield"]. She got no reply, so she left a message.
“Thurion, it’s me. I’m going down to the docks to investigate a problem. I’ll check in with Sergeant Nemours and get his help. Bye!”
Looking back to the concerned citizen, she smiled. “Come with me, sir, we’ll go to the police station and get them to help escort you to safety.”
