Intent: To create a new type of personal shielding for VIP use
Development Thread:
http://starwarsrp.net/topic/62411-defense-and-offense/
Manufacturer: ArmaTech Combat Systems
Model: Mk1
Affiliation: ArmaTech Combat Systems
Modularity: Limited
Production: Limited
Material: Personal Energy Shield Components, Agrinium, Dual Power Cells

Special Features:
  • Advanced Molecular Shield: Blocks Energy Projectiles, siphons power into attached weapon or battery pack
  • Advanced Particle Shield: Blocks Solid Projectiles
  • Three modes: Both, Molecular, or Particle (The latter two doubling the effectiveness of the active one, removing the inactive one completely)
  • Charge Mode and Shock Mode: Rather than storing energy the Shield can produce an electrical discharge, shocking any conductive objects that touch the outside of the Shield.
Description:
The Exemplar-class Personal Energy Shield is exactly what its name implies, the paragon of personal shielding. Utilizing powerful Molecular shields combined with Particle Shielding, the Exemplar-class provides unrivaled protection against energy weapons of all types, and it is capable of siphoning off that power into attached weapon systems or battery packs, recharging them or allowing them to be fired with additional power. The Particle shield simply rounds the systems basis, providing equal protection from solid projectiles without the ability to siphon energy. Such a combination provides the wearer with a highly defensive protection, capable of surviving powerful energy blasts and providing a way to increase the wearer’s own damage output. Each type of shield is significantly more resilient than the Military Mobility Shield, able to survive an immense number of heavy blaster bolts or slugs and even prolonged contact with a lightsaber, which while it rapidly reduces the shield, it is a noticeable resistance. Like the Icon-class the Exemplar-class can be used in three different modes, powering both shields simultaneously, or doubling the effectiveness of one shield and making the other inactive at the user’s discretion.

The potential of the Exemplar-class provides high ranking officers extreme defense in the field, turning their opponents own weapons against them by siphoning the energy from their strikes into weapon output. This comes with the added drawback of increasing the chance of the weapon overheating, and shouldn’t be overcharged too drastically. Weapons of higher quality have a lower risk of overheating than lower quality weapons, often meaning common stock weapons overheat very easily when attempting to boost their power output. Safe levels are about a thirty five percent increase in damage output, anything more is risky, and one hundred percent increase would almost guarantee a serious malfunction. Another weakness is that the shield, while able to recharge attached powercells, cannot recharge itself in this way. Utilizing an emergency failsafe not found on the Paragon-class the Exemplar can shunt power outward rather than siphoning it and storing it. This results in an electrical discharge covering the shield. Anything that conducts electricity well that hits the outside of the shield, are sure to get a nasty electrical shock.

Canon Starship Technology scaled down for use on body armor.
Limited Production, reinforced by a 20 post development thread.

The "charge" system you've worked into the armor is very similar to Retribution Feedback Shields, so I've no problem with it.

And while I see the progression from the Icon-class Shields to the Paragon-class Shields and now to the Exemplar-class Shields, I'm a little worried by the wording of your description.
The Military Mobility Shielding states that it can withstand about 50 rounds from a Heavy Blaster before failing. Your first shield system can withstand fewer shots, your second can withstand about the same number of shots, and your newest creation can withstand a greater number of shots. From your original description of the other two systems, I'm gonna go ahead and assume this is "around" 68 Heavy Blaster rounds.

Personally, I like 32, 50, and 68 a lot better than Moderate, Great, and Immense... since Immense sounds... neigh invulnerable. But I see the logic in the wording.
So long as the "around 68" is understood and it's not used as "neigh invulnerable" in roleplay, I'm comfortable with this submission the way it is.

Approved, pending secondary.
