Okay help and suggestions on materials... also some strengths and weaknesses. Then I can write it up the rest of the way and sub it.

As far as materials go, I think we should use some steampunk classics. Bronze, for the most part. Not sure how well that'd work with a grenade, but... yeah. We should probably also add gunpowder, and maybe little shotgun-esque pellets for additional shrapnel?

We also need them to be effective against the modern tech... So maybe hey look steampunk... Or the pellets are a material that can get through, say some heavy armor?

True. The pellets should be something special, something better than the norm. Maybe mini explosive pellets? Armor piercing pellets? Incineration pellets? Maybe there could be differents versions of the grenade, all with different pellets?

I was already thinking different versions. So all EX with a different number...

Maybe come up with an idea for a concussion grenade or a sticky grenade white phosphorous

Oooh, I like those ideas. Maybe even make something that shoots napalm or somethin like that. Uniqueness is definitely ideal.

Heck yeah! And we could also do a smoke grenade, but the smoke could have some kind of special quality to it. Or if you wanted to, we could use steam instead of smoke. Since we're steampunk and all.

Yeah, we could revamp a slew of canon things, as well as make some of our own. Steam force breakers = badass.

Frag, Cryo, Fire, Thermal, Stun, Acid.

Those are all canon and relatively easy to get through the factory on a whim.
