The Jedi Iroh
It had been a long time since Tiland had taught a class of normal Jedi, especially padawans. Most often, he taught them more advanced skills to knights and younger masters. But there were times when experience was called for, especially in surviving the battles they fought. With tragedy and war thinning the ranks of more experienced knights and masters, older padawans needed to be more capable of protecting themselves, since there might not be older ones to protect them. And so, he had been called in.
To train padawans and junior knights and oversee practice duels. He had picked the location aboard Peace. One of the training rooms, although he had the droids and computers change it up. Now the room felt alive. All holograms, of course, minus the humidity and intermittent downpours. Tiland greatly appreciated the climate simulation that Alana had got up and running. This would make quite a difference. Training in a sparring room was one thing. But this was to push their limits and capabilities. Wind would blow, simulated trees would topple over, real rain would hammer down on them. Indeed, Tiland's hair and robes were already slick with water as beads of it ran down his face. The old Jedi paid it no mind. And the environment would shift as they moved, bringing in new changes and possibilities. He had picked it for its similarity to Dagobah, where he had fought during the long campaigns between the Knights of Ren and New Jedi Order. If he could have taken them to a real swamp, he would have, but the custodial droids adamantly refused. Next time- field trip.
He leaned on his staff, watching the entryway. The gathering students were already rippling through the Force, waiting for him to open the door and grant them entry. Upon entry, they would be randomly assigned numbers pairing them with another student for a practice duel. He would assess them to ensure some level of parity and set them going. Lightsabers set to stun. But beyond that, no restrictions. It was up to them and their ingenuity. For the least experienced, Tiland would work with them personally.
Checking to see everything was again in order, he nodded and pressed the button next to the door. "Come in and let the practice begin."
