Eve of Battle: L-49 coordination

Although touched on, briefly, in a number of Discord channels, I thought it proper to get something physical on the board. We have so many ally sign ups for the defense of L-49, so coordination will be an absolute mess unless we have our ducks in a row going in. As many of you are aware, Story, Entertainment and Teamwork are all huge victory conditions, since effort is mostly about posting faster and more often than the enemy does (without stampeding).

So let's make sure we get A+ in each and every one.

Story: In the aftermath of the first war against the First Order, the southern systems of the Galactic Alliance have been destabilized. Their infrastructure is in need of reconstruction, and convoys of reconstruction supplies are passing through the sector to assist in re-stabilizing that region. So once the First Order's blockade is showing up, we are to defend the freedom of trade across that stretch of Wild Space.

We will actually write out the cold realization that the First Order is on the move once again, and disrupting trade, while, at the same time, breaching a hole in the main enemy ships' shields for boarding.

But the above all, we need to make sure we are on the same page narrative wise. That will be the key to victory. TO WAR!

As far as I'm aware I'm going to be going in with the boarders. Hopefully they finalize the approval of the Marines today, otherwise, I'll have a Company of Beserkers to back us up in the assault. During the fighting I think the plan is for Asaraa to get dragged into a duel.

I believe the SJO parties will mainly be moving together, so we will need to keep our communication tight both IC and OOC.

I think the plan was for us to be in the area conducting some training exercises?

I will be there, boarding as commented earlier by me on Discord. I am easy to find on SJO Discord by my characters name here if you need to ask me a question.

And yeah, that was the idea that i heard kicked around, SJO training with the GA out in deep space. Still sticking with that?

[member="Jessica Med-Beq"] also beat me to it here, so I'll just copy pasta what I wrote in GA forums.

"Blatantly ripping off Guy's initiative to get us a little more prepped and organized in Dagobah leading right up to the invasion start dates, I figure we should talk about our plans for L-49. The plot of the thread is centered around a blockade, basically the First Order's attempts to cut off Alliance supply lines to our southern territories.

Obviously some of the fine details depend upon the First Order's exact plans for the battlefield, but no matter how things look I would propose that we divide into three groups or teams. The first will consist of classic fleeters, people looking to bring some serious meterage to bear against the Imperials and their allies. The second will be composed of both starfighter pilots and freighter captains, looking to fend off enemy fighters as well as to to run the blockade. The third category would be our more ground-oriented characters, and that would focus on anything from boarding parties to sabotage to last ditch diplomacy efforts.

Unlike the others, we should have a little more IC time to organize in response to this one, as instead of pressing the assault the First Order is primarily looking to establish a perimeter. Our closest developed worlds to the conflict hex are Sluis Van, Elrood (including nearby Fort Dawn), and Skor. Although this invasion takes place not too far from Sullust, so it would not be ridiculous to use the capital as a starting point if that sort of thing is relevant to your opening posts.

As far as allies from other factions (the Silvers have taken a particular interest), this is something high profile that the GA will not hesitate to blast all over the HoloNet. The blockade is a violation of our armistice, and while I'm sure the Imperials will present their own justifications for such a move tomorrow, from our perspective when the first transport is turned around by force they have committed a crime, and we will gladly accept all the help we can get to break the blockade and bring their leaders to justice."

As far as the stuff about splitting into teams, if you guys are interested in mainly sticking together that's just fine by me. At the end of the day its all about organization and a cohesive narrative anyway, which I am confident you all are able to pull off when writing together.
