Evan Kade is a young human man with fair skin, blonde hair, and striking blue eyes. At 1.82 metres and approximately 76 kilograms, he possesses a lean, athletic build without appearing particularly imposing.

His appearance is deliberately unremarkable. Evan tends toward practical clothing appropriate to whatever environment he finds himself in, rarely favoring anything that's distinctive enough to make him memorable. He is equally comfortable dressing as a civilian, traveller, corporate employee, or low-level criminal if the situation calls for it.

His blonde hair and blue eyes are perhaps his most immediately recognizable features, though even these can be altered when necessary. He has no obvious tattoos, scars, or other distinguishing marks that he openly acknowledges.

Those who have encountered Evan more than once may notice something unusual: his appearance, mannerisms, accent, and even posture can seem subtly different depending on where, and with whom he is encountered. Whether this is simply good tradecraft or something more is difficult to determine.

Evan avoids emotional attachments whenever possible. He considers attachment a liability rather than a source of strength. Friends can be threatened. Lovers can be manipulated. Family can be used as leverage. Anyone who becomes important to him can become a vulnerability that an enemy can exploit. As a result, Evan keeps people at arm's length. He can cooperate with others, work alongside them, and even appear genuinely friendly, but he rarely allows anyone close enough to know what he actually thinks or feels.

He has no particular loyalty to institutions. Governments, criminal organizations, corporations, militaries, intelligence agencies, and wealthy individuals are all potential employers. Evan's loyalty is primarily to himself and to whatever objective he has chosen to pursue. That does not necessarily make him heartless. Evan has provided numerous accounts of his past. According to one version, he grew up far from the major galactic powers and learned early how to survive without relying upon anyone else. According to another, he was recruited into intelligence work while still young and spent years being trained in infiltration, surveillance, and counterintelligence. Another story claims that he was simply a talented criminal who discovered that selling information was considerably more profitable than stealing possessions.

There are other versions. Some contradict one another completely. None have been conclusively proven. Evan eventually became known as a freelance intelligence operative willing to work for clients who valued discretion above all else. His services have included surveillance, information gathering, infiltration, identity work, extraction, sabotage, and other tasks that are better left undocumented.

He does not necessarily remain loyal to a single employer. He may work for a government today, a criminal organization tomorrow, and an independent client the following week. Whether he has ever truly worked as a double-agent, or whether the appearance of divided loyalties is itself another layer of deception, is entirely unknown.

There are rumors that Evan has infiltrated organizations on behalf of their enemies. There are rumors that he has betrayed employers. There are rumors that he has deliberately allowed himself to be discovered so that he could gain access to something more valuable. There are even rumors that he has worked both sides of the same conflict without either side ever realizing it.

Evan has never confirmed any of them. If asked about his past, he will simply smile and tell a different story. And perhaps, somewhere beneath all those lies, there is one version of Evan Kade that is completely true.
