ADVANCED SYSTEMS
  • Powerful Sensor Jammers capable of interference even with modern systems, making it extremely difficult to detect
  • Heavily modified Laser Cannons
  • Powerful sensors with double the range of a standard variant
STRENGTHS
  • Good, Anakin, Good!: Engineered for maximum speed and agility that can compete with some of the finest interceptors even today, it also comes with a reproduction of the Monarch C-4 Hyperdrive allowing it to jump into hyperspace, which was extremely rare in imperial starfighters at the time
  • Kill him now: Believed to have had its modifications overseen by no less than a a very early Post-Mustafar Darth Vader, It's Weapons have heavier barrels, enabling more power, with a heavily enhanced power plant enabling it to fire at double the rate and range. And it has a weak composite beam laser turrets with a five kilometer range
  • Your arrogance blinds you: It's Heavy Sensor Jammers have a chance if affecting even highly advanced modern systems, possibly preventing it's detection
  • I have Foreseen It: It's Sensors have been customized for double range
WEAKNESSES
  • You survived: It's laser cannons are weak by modern standards. One may find themselves relying on the Composite Beam more
  • Young Fool: Entering atmospheres or areas in space with heavy electrical disturbances disrupt it's shields and weapon systems for a short time
  • You will be destroyed: At the end of the day, it has fairly average defenses, and due to the then difficulty of fitting so much tech onto a fighter this size, the shields recharge slowly once depleted. This more than anything else likely led to their eventual decommissioning
  • I am the Senate: Super Rare. Among the rarest of fighters. The cost to repair it if it takes damage is astronomical, and instantly lowers it's value. It's a useful Antique in a pinch but it is more meant to be in a personal collection, rarely used except for ceremonial purposes.
DESCRIPTION

These Starfighters and their accompanying hyperdrive modules date back to the rise of the Galactic Empire, and--claimed to be at least, by a number of credible historians as at least one of the missing links in the Royal Guards mostly undocumented starfighter usage, with the one notable exception of the Royal Guard TIE Interceptor, of which few examples survive to the present date.

Believed to have been constructed to personally escort the newly declared Galactic Emperor Palpatine due to being found in old Royal Guard caches, the Emperor would expect nothing less than the absolute best out of any fighter escort meant to personally see to his survival, and likely would have demanded a number of modifications to any starfighter given the task. What lends credibility to the Historians claims of these being the earliest examples of the Royal Guard's use of heavily modified combat starfighters is the extreme quality of each recovered example--expert economists estimate that these fighters would have been worth hundreds of millions of credits in their era, using what would have been considered at the time cutting edge modifications that render them impossible to mass produce even today. The second thing favoring their authenticity is that their small size and profile beat out the possibility of a V-Wing serving as the Emperor's personal escort...the Experimental V-Wing might have been adequate when he was a mere Chancellor, but it is likely that if these are authentic, than Darth Sidious would have considered the V-Wing profile too large for his purposes going forward (Though it is equally likely that he nonetheless ordered test programs for V-Wing modifications just to be sure). The third fact in these Antique Starfighters favor on the matter of authenticity is that Darth Vader himself is known to have used the Actis 2 Interceptor, both before and after his cybernetic transformation, and if these are authentic, then he almost certainly would have overseen their extensive retrofits as he is believed to have done with the Royal Guard TIE Interceptor...they are simply too finely tuned and high quality to have been modified by any less than the most skilled of starfighter engineers.

If they are indeed the real deal, then it is currently unknown how long they were used by the Royal Guard, and for what missions, but it is likely that they were retired only slightly after TIE Fighters became prevalent, or perhaps saw use all the way to the development of the TIE Advanced V-1, during which the search for a replacement fighter was almost certainly underway for those serving starfighter escort. It is theorized by modern Historians that whatever came before the Royal Guard Interceptor, it was based off some form of the TIE Advanced line, and given that both the TIE/LN and the TIE/AD have their basis in the Actis 2, it is one more point in favor of the authenticity of these beyond rare interceptors, which command billions of credits by rare starfighter collectors.
